What's interesting is that some of these things were actually recommended for health reasons, such as oleo (margarine) for butter, fruit juice instead of sodas or coffee, etc. Truth be told, anything in moderation is OK, and anything in excessive quantities is bad. Just eat intelligently. There's a bad side to anything we eat or drink, including our water. So, check the labels, pick the best ingredients, and enjoy...

And the whole diet soda thing is regurgitated propaganda from sugar companies. Notice how nome of these "studies" were cited ? Because they were cherry picked nonsense studies funded by sugar corps. There is piles of data from legitimate double blind, peer reviewed studies that show diet soda is NOT dangerous at all for us. That is complete and utter bullshit. We would never be able to consume the amount of aspartame you'd need to for it to harm you. You'd have to take in like 400 lbs of our aspartame at once . ...

It's not about living forever. It's about living a quality of life. Not all broken down and a freezer bag full of medication. Helping pay for your doctor's mansion and his Land Rover, and his boat docked in the canal behind his house. Instead extra money left over for your mansion and land rover. What you watched is not classified as food. It's called frankenfood. Made and designed by man, who couldn't give a flip about your health. You're just a dollar sign walking around and making him wealthy while he is helping destroy your health. Even the Bible says, man perish because of lack of knowledge. That can be in anything. I'm a living witness. Some foods are addictive because of the chemicals they put in them. That is done on purpose. People always say, you got to die of something, but every time they get sick they're always running to the doctor. What's up with that? Didn't mean to make it this long.

Hey Marsha I was exactly like you I would not give up my Campbell's tomato soup. Until I discovered that you can make your own make it taste 10 times better and less sodium and Skip all the preservatives and chemicals.Use a can of crushed tomatoes or a can of whole tomatoes put them in a blender or you could even use tomato puree. Then you add heavy whipping cream or half-and-half milk or a can of evaporated milk and you add your garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper parsley flakes, dill weed fresh or dried or whatever other spices you want to add to it cooking on the stove or in the microwave and I kid you not it's so much better for you and it even taste better I add just about a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce to mine and I also added a touch of sugar to take out the wang of the tomato. I've even topped it off with parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, provolone, whatever you want experiment with different things. I've even had garlic cheese bread dipped in my tomato soup OMG that is so good!
You're welcome to write back and let me know if you've tried these things and tell me what you think! I hope my tips have helped you in some small way....

WW2 vet Richard Overton lived to be 112 on a simple diet of canned soup, cold cereal with milk, canned corn, butter pecan ice cream, 10-12 Tampa Sweet cigars a day, and 4-5 cups of coffee laced with Maker’s Mark Whiskey. At least in his final years. Moderation and having a chill nature is the key. Exercise and diet is the key if you’re already a high-stress personality.

My Grandfather ate white bread (tons of it), ate some canned tuna during the war, later it was almost unknown in communist Hungary, so he ate canned sardines instead. He didn't know what diet soda is, but drank a shitload of local beverages instead (full of sugar of course). Potato chips were unknown that time here, but he very much liked french fries, fried in lard, not oil. Does honey consideres as non-maple syrup? If yes, he had lots of non-maple syrup. Margarine... We only had margarine. No energy drink that time, but he drunk 6 espressos a day. Fruit juice. Tons of it, it was considered helthy back those days. Deli meats, hehe, they had a butchery, so guess what? He lived 83 years, and died from health issues caused by the russian prison camp he was held for years after the war.

Great video, BabbleTop! I love canned soups. If you don't need to add water, I sometimes eat them right out of the can. If I want to heat it, I'll put the whole can in boiling water for a couple minutes so I don't have anything to wash. Potato chips are great, but I don't eat them often. (Use chopsticks and your fingers won't get crumby and oily.) Canned tuna is good, but in Taiwan I buy mackerel and saury in tomato sauce, as well as sardines and anchovies. I also love the tins of capelin roe and cod liver in its own oil. My health ideas completely go out the window when it comes to deli meats. I love deli meats so much! I don't care if it's simple Oscar Mayer bologna slices rolled up with French's yellow mustard as a snack or some sandwich creation with fancy Hungarian salami. I love it all!!! It Taiwan, more and more people are discovering health benefits from eating "brown rice" which has the hull removed but retains the cereal germ and bran layers. Keep up the good videos, BabbleTop! Just as there was a time when margarine was being promoted as "healthier than butter", similarly diabetics were told to drink diet soda and never fruit juice. 100% fruit juice and teas are still the healthiest drinks one can consume, even if a little sugar is added. If nutrition advice was given out honestly, ignoring commercial viability, we'll have less confusion and more living years.
