Your camera and video production work are as good as your amazing amp building work. Outstanding!
Really appreciate the kind words Ian, thank you!!
I have built amps since mid 90’s never have I built to the quality standards that u use. I have learnt so much from your tutorials thanks you.
Thanks for kind words Peter. Much appreciated, sorry for late reply, not sure how I missed it, cheers.
I thought I was meticulous but you’re on another level. Inspiring...nice work!
I love your absolutely astounding attention to detail and craftsmanship. I strive for the same within my own work. One day I hope to follow the guide and build my own amp. I never thought I would want to but watching this series has really got me thinking.
Thanks so much Sam! Give it a crack, you can certainly do t!
Fascinating to watch, your attention to detail is admirable.
Very clean and well laid out and excellent soldering. Enjoyed the close ups.
Fantastic content!! Really amazing to me. Showing great tips how to solder bigger and thicker components and wires which was my problem when soldering my headphone amp. You video will definitely help in my next build - full tube amp. Thank you!
Nice, very nice, showing that amp building is not so mysterious, that with skill & patience you can build a quality amp.
Thanks James!
Very clean build! Love the close up shots too.
Thanks RR!
Excellent video production and very clean wiring. Very entertaining! Good Amp design!
Thanks so much TS!
What an excellent video. Thanks for posting this.
Beautiful
Excellent video.
Very very nice meticulous work. Wow
This is exactly the video I was hoping to find! I'm building a small stereo amp and was wondering how best to lay out the components and now I have some idea rather than doing entirely point to point.
Awesome, glad it was of some help, all the best for your build.
Very neat work... great project . cheers
Thanks Edwin!
Great channel!!
Thanks Camelazo!
great videos. cant wait for the next one. would u cover diy choke and transformers winding un ur serie????
You do very neat work. You should consider doing custom builds for HiFi amps too.
Nice video👍👍👍
Thank you 👍
Very good my friend 👍😃
Thank you Adriano!!
Great stuff.
Thanks Greg! Hows the guitar coming along?
Slow! I've been traveling for work and I'm getting ready to move a few states away. I need to get it wrapped up in the next couple weeks while I still have a shop to work in. Fingers crossed!!!
Ah nuts. Hate it when life gets in the way. I feel your pain. Hope you will get a bit of time, all the best for the move.
very very good
Thank you!
This inspire me so much. Please show 6SN7 45 SE 2 watts step by step please.
Great Job
Thanks VW, really appreciate it!
check out my test guitar vid)) czcams.com/video/7fU5EfAtBQM/video.html
new videos will be added soon in high quality.
Cool, I'll check em out!
Amazing
Thank you Shaun! Hope you are having a great day!
Watching these videos I realize how much of a barbarian I am when soldering, even tho I considered myself way better than my peers back in college 😅
Indeed, soldering takes a long while to master. I still use way too much, still much to learn to master the art but getting there. have a great day Luis!!!
Tu esti Dumnezeu prietene.
I see that you made a jumper connection between tube lugs. I'm looking to build my first amp and the instructions for the kit I've been checking out suggest bending and crimping the two lugs together. Would you warn against this? Are those lugs very fragile? Great series btw!
You can bend the lugs together however I don't really like modifying the socket in that way. If the socket lug breaks, or if it is weakened by the bending, then you may run into problems later. The last thing you want is to break a lug as they are pretty delicate. Normally, a nice tinned lug and a resistor lead or wire that makes good contact through the eye of the lug is all that is necessary. I dont wrap a lead or wire entirely around my tube socket lugs (personal preference) as doing so means that you'll never get that component or wire out. Just make sure you make a decent contact and your soldering is sound and you'll be right. Cheers!
Nice! Where you get those cables for wiring components?
Thanks Michael, I got most of the gear from Partsconnexion online, the wire in particular. Cheers!
Why did you use bradeed ground wire instead of regular hard solid copper?
@@mefirst4266 Elaborate please. It's no good making statements in capital letters if you don't follow through.
Can u plz give that pic and circuits
where can I buy these turrets and what type of board is that and how do you press the turrets in?
PETR DOLEZAL See the earlier videos. The board is custom laminated, using fibreglass and epoxy, as far as I recall. The turrets I can't remember but he gently tapped them in with a hammer before peining the ends on the opposite side of the board.
thank you

Got a bunch from Tube Depot.
I have watched the whole series and you need to buy shaper and better job specific tools, Cheers for the videos bud :-)
Thanks OHC, glad you enjoyed the vids!!
Very pretty but bear in mind parallel wires maximise inductive coupling which can be a big issue in tube amps. Looks like you're not building a high-gainer so no worries
Thanks ONZ. I took that into consideration and input signal wires are either well away from, or perpendicular to output signals. Cheers
PRP resistors?
Yes, PRP. I like them, not because they are red, but because they are RED.
good job but you need to make a meniscal connection on all jobs
Thanks. You sure do and that is what I have done, cheers.
great i build hi fi valve amps
Hi Fi builds, awesome! I drew up a mono block circuit a while back but as yet have not got around to building it. Hi Fi building takes on another level of meticulous and my mind boggles at some of the prices of the top quality components such as those beautiful beer can capacitors. I was going to use much lower end capacitors myself as the price was prohibitive. What components do you use, just out of interest. Thanks Ian!
the caps i use are orange drops brown drops and vishay caps and resistors and allen bradley resistors too , you don't need lage caps in HI FI valve amps 330MF good PI filter choke, good diode rectification circuit in HIFI amp and preamp is always a good thing don't want any sag
Sorry to butt in, I'm new to all of this and can't find any info on a 'meniscal connection' - what is that?
To much o.c.d. for me 👌. It looks Nice but i prefer point to point.
Is that not what this is? What's the difference?
