      @@D07770 Um, I guess I.I. removed the message. but I wanted to write what KJ wrote. "Rejection" is very difficult for me as well. Is it rejection, when she's enamored with someone else?
      I helped her through a very difficult time and brought her back to life through my unbending interest, passion and unstoppable energy. We had already been together as a couple for a few years but as I saw that having children was becoming more and more important for her (I couldn't imagine this with her) I more or less pushed her into the next relationship. He turned out to be very bad for her and left her just when she needed him. She was suffocating and so I played spare-tire for her and pulled her back. We weren't intim anymore, but we were always together in movies, restaurants,concerts, playing music together, exhibitions etc. enjoying our company, laughing, crying and discussing everything. I did have a small hope that she'd come out of her depression and "see" me being there for her. Yes after a year she came out of her depression bit by bit and it began to look good, but I'm much older, now, and not really lover-material for her. I encouraged her to find a fellow her age and try being physical, again after the operations but also after the good reports from the onkologist. She did and found someone, right away. It wasn't me., though. Now I have to let her go a second time. At least I've got the satisfaction in knowing I saved her life which is a lot better than burying her, from which she was miraculously saved.
      Dani, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that there is someone or several someones in your circle of acquaintances and friends who are just waiting for YOU to notice THEM. Let that sink in a bit. They are interested in you. The more you concentrate on your painful experience of having been rejected again and again, the less you can possibly notice the wonderfulness of those around you? I'd strongly recommend actively seeing the wonderfulness of those around you - at least one/day - and stop reminding yourself of your former pain. How does this sound? I'm 67. I think I know what I'm talking about and hope it helps.
      While we're at it, you write in your first sentence, "Unrequited love and rejection is what I experienced my whole life." If this is truly the case, I'd seek professional help and revisit that very first rejection, for this is that on which you're probably basing your pain. It must be revisited, explored and the conflict resolved. I wish you well, much luck and peace and happiness.
      It's been a whole year since you wrote this, Dani. Have things changed? Love.

    What also really helps with getting over infatuation is to consciously recollect all that person's faults and flaws. Do that for like 10-20 minutes every day and after a couple of weeks/months, it'll start changing the way you view that person. You're basically doing the opposite of what made you fall in love with them.

    • @howardcohen6817
      @howardcohen6817 Před 2 lety +1

      I don't need to reject back. This seems silly. With one woman I realized that I had made a mistake but with all the other people in my life (I'm 67), it just didn't work out or we grew apart or I got on the person's nerves and and and. The time we had together was good. There's no reason to dissuade myself and convince myself of something that's simply not the case.

      I often think, "What would it be like to be that person's friend," when internetting. With Nada I'm very happy that he does these videos (and he's gotten closer and closer), but I'm also glad to be able to turn him off. It would be very uncomfortable for me not to have a "pause" button with him in real life, I think.
      It's also important to know how he (or anyone) listens, don't you think? Not only to his own inner voice, but to me, to the refrigerator-repair-person and even to the TV-program. Is he (the person) kind? considerate? loving? How is one supposed to know this without meeting him (the person)?
      I think that usually people do what's best for themselves. I trust that the "girls" were neither confused nor blind(ed) but doing what they perceived as best for them. Love.

    After 15 years together my relationship ended. After that we tried to get back together again but it always ends the same way. I see now that the appreciation was never the same for one another. Always coming back to use me and throwing me away after she found another. We have to value are self because we can become blinded by attachment. If we don't let go we end up going down with someone that will never appreciate your true value.

    My view is that these failed attachments that lead to heartache often happen for a reason to flush out, reveal, and confront self issues or toxic beliefs or unhealthy needs. This should all make us stronger and expanded; but sometimes we struggled to learn so we experience extended grief or even multiple people in which we always end up grieving. This was my life. Was. It took me a long time into my life to realize and challenge and then change the underlying reasons I always ended up in broken relationships as a broken person. My hope for others is to be unafraid to dive deep after a breakup or after noticing a pattern that never brings happiness. Don't waste your time like I did. But sometimes we need to be kicked in the teeth to pay attention. I am alone, but I am so happy. I have good friends. It is only now that I found that I didn't need anyone; rather seek to share my happiness.

    I totally agree from my own experience that you have to be free in your mind from any former relationship, only then you can embrace a new one with all your mind and energy. The best way is to be alone for a while to find out what you really want and need in your life. You can only be happy in a new relationship when you and your new partner are authentic. When both enjoy pursuing the relationship by investing time and energy into it without suffering, then it’s the best relationship, full of mutual interest, appreciation and flow of energy. My own experience shows that while you are going through this process you could never even think of any other potential fish in the ocean because you just feel and know that there is no one better suitable.

    Actually It took me years to get over someone who I was only in a relationship with for a couple months. What I discovered is it was an attachment I developed because I was trying to fill a void. I thought I needed that person to give me love and validate my worth since I didn't received that in childhood. It all starts with childhood in most cases maybe not all. But for me it was childhood traumas that went unhealed and carried on into my adult years. Then I attracted people who would bring those unhealed wounds in me back up. We can't ignore how we feel. Sometimes we have to go back and see if we holding on onto to any type of unwanted feelings and if so they need to be healed and addressed.

    It is the first o maximum second time that I put a public comment on internet, but I felt I needed to do it. I'm right now getting through the end of the relationship with the only person that I have been really in love with. I feel like not only my hearth but also my live are completely broken. It is being the most extreme pain that I have felt in my life cause it feels like all my old unprocessed pains of my past are now with me and I am facing them all. It is some how hopeful to me to find this video, I thank the universe that there is people like you that ended up helping other people without even know it. Thank you, have a great day.

    It is the final truth, simple. I lost years in the worst pain. Don't invest romantic energy (your soul and your life energy and your blood) in someone who doesn't see or is unwilling to invest back. It is simple logic. Better to be alone forever than experience that. All my life I had some weird logic and it kept me holding on to hope. But this is the simple truth. And once you can say that and see this for yourself. Not just in theory but in practice, then you will be easily able to overcome anything within just a few days. Yes it's OK to be sad for a while because a time was still a time. But at the end of the day there is nothing to be wrecked over. The other person just simply wasn't as bothered (ever or anymore). Embrace it and just let go. Save that energy for you.
    And have the integrity not to put someone else through it either....

    You're right. That hope can sabotage many years of one's life, In my case, the person fed upon that hope and repeatedly torchering me with disappointment, either intentional or unintentional is irrelevant, the relationship was doomed and ill fated, could never be, and would probably mean my demise if it did anyway. Yet still, 6 years and another relationship later, I'm still having trouble moving on.
    Yes exactly, you don't want somebody who doesn't want you fully, back, and doesn't make the effort.

    I appreciate your efforts, Nada. One needn't get rid of the memories of the good and healthy things which were already experienced and enjoyed or even the feelings of having anticipated further experiences, together. These have their validity. Only the holding on to the possibility of a much different reality to that which is must be let go. It makes it much easier to let go if you don't have to cut out your heart, your memories and your years. Love.

    Thank you for this video.....I've really liked a lot of what you say here. But for people who have had a lot of trauma in their lives....this advice is a little on the overly rational side. But what this points to for me is that when we are stuck in trauma....we can't let go of the hope that the wrong person is the right person. It's really wildy crazy how I have found this works. Letting go of hope can actually be very dangerous for some. But what I like is how this points to my own lack of individuation...my perception that the "other" is a part of me. That their rejection .....is me rejecting myself. My last experience really showed me how unwilling I am to really admit what I want in a relationship....because...and this is so unconscious.....that I don't deserve to have the kind of relationship that I envision. I'm actually pretty good at being alone....too good in fact. I haven't even wanted to get into the relationships that I've found myself in. Ultimately your message is so powerful. To discover our treasure that are inside. That we always deserve something better than a person who doesn't want to be with us!! But the person I found I delusionally thought was my treasure. So amazing really. But now I can see pretty clearly how inappropriate the situation was. But it was the ride of a lifetime. And only life could show me the way through the deepest darkness and depths. But your video stimulated this thinking...and wow I really thank you!

    The subject of this video has been a hard pill for me to swallow no matter how much I've attempted to heal myself from it. But its so comforting to hear this. And to hear an elaborate perception on the truth of the matter.
    I needed to hear this.
    I get compliments and get asked out but I can tell the chemistry or effort or enthusiasm isn't there. So I do not settle. It's lonely sometimes. But I'm learning my worth more and more as time goes on. Thank you for this with all of my sincerity. It was so nice to find comfort in an issue I have been struggling with. 🖤

      I get, I get, I get so I don't feel... I'm not trying to be mean. Maybe I'm just jealous that I don't get complimented or asked out -- that I'm aware of. I'm sort of busy being interested in the person to whom I'm relating. I guess I just don't notice.

    I feel like once you have a possibility in thought that it’s not totally meant to be even if things are going great it’s best to let go. The longer you lie to yourself the more it will hurt. The sooner you let go the easier it will be. That also goes for trying to make a relationship work again over and over.

  • @c004857
    @c004857 Před 2 lety +2

    In any relationship, try not to have an air of expectation. This will create an aura of being needy and it's not very attractive. Your inner dialogue should be "I am the answer to your prayers and you are very lucky to know me". There is nothing arrogant in this. People will always chase something that seems unattainable. If you want the "one", you have to be the "one" you are dreaming about. Be the best version of yourself and others will desire you. I think Paris Hilton once said "the idea is, people should think that your life is better than theirs".

      I don't agree, Rodel. People should think that I'm wonderful for them and I should be interested in them - not in me. THAT I can do at home.

    What if you ended the relationship in hopes of doing things on your own, of your own interest, or no longer felts anything for the past partner yet tried to stay friends but upon hearing about their new partner feelings of uneasiness or maybe jealously have come over you in that moment?
    Although the past partner feels you can come to them and ask anything, you feel like you don’t think your mental health is going to improve while still having them in your life or even being in contact
    Update: Have progressed to accepting that I won’t be on that same level with them. Knowing that I should focus on myself and where I’m going while respecting they have a life as well

    The worst thing is knowing when you know your trapped in a a mental place that was once inhabited by two people. It felt like shared transcendence. Then the other person leaves and has been gone for a while. Then you're left alone there. You don't have anyone to share that feeling anymore.
    It kind of feels like people should have a set amount of mandatory break-ups as soon as possible. My first relationship was well into adulthood. Had it worked, it would have been steady. But it didn't and the fallout has lasted a long time, despite all my efforts.
