I feel this completely. I love my iphone, Apple TV, MacBook, iPad, Apple Watch. I just love Apple and that’s why I decided to go with iOS development and Swift. I’m still learning but this journey has been so exciting and fun. I watched your video where you built the Tic Tac Toe game from scratch and it was the most inspiring thing I saw. It made me realize the possibilities are endless! I’m ready to go all in.

I’m 30 years old, I decided to start learning iOS programming to start a new career path since my engineering path wasn’t that good… I’m planning to watch you Swift course as one of the first steps in the journey.

For someone who worked with Laravel (PHP), VueJS (Javascript), NuxtJS, Bootstrap/TailwindCSS, Swift, SwiftUI & UIKit, a little bit of devOps, WordPress, and some other things i don’t even recall right now, I decided that i had to choose what excites me more (iOS dev apparently) and stick to it. Its good to have knowledge of other languages and technologies, but you will never excel if you split your attention in so many places. Be the best at one thing, not just OK in many. My 2 cents (totally agree with Sean btw).

Definitely one of your most influential videos for me as a junior iOS developer. So many good points that made me feel more confident in the path I’ve chosen! Thanks Sean :)

Lol yeah I’ve been a web dev for 20+ years and I’m beyond sick of it. I tried a bit of android development, and it was OK. Tried iOS development, and something about the Xcode IDE in the swift language really caught my interest.

Was taking your Swift Programming Tutorial | FULL COURSE | Absolute Beginner, and It's an amazing intro and made me realized I would actually like to concentrate first on Android Development and learn KMM(Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile) Which you can use for the logic side, back end or business end how I've seen some people say, for both platforms leading to Native Apps in which all you have to code or do is the UI in it's native platform. I know I have a LONG! way to go, but after giving Web Development a try I felt it's not for me. Especially when it came to JavaScript, I noticed I under stand Kotlin much better for some reason, and Swift even better. Crazy thing is that most people used to tell me not to go into Mobile since it's way "Harder", but this is the route I decided to take. Wish me luck and lots of energy to persevere.

It is also true that remote work can get old. I did it for a year and I really need something else now. Especially I miss a connection with a real team instead of some blurry images of my coworkers once in a while on my Mac screen. True that if you are in the wrong company, read wrong fit you might be better off working remotely and saving some horrible commutes ☺

Sean I really resonate with these topics. I wanted to share a few struggles I have and some opportunities to maximize where I am at. Would be awesome for you to read and explain more about your chapters.
For struggles, I resonated with Lesser Pay May be Right / Find the right fit because I'm very grateful for the iOS job I have but I feel like I did take the first offer, better pay but maybe not the best opportunity. I was wondering if you could share personal experiences why you think this. Maybe I did put myself in a non-ideal situation, maybe there's potential in my role. What alarmed me is I am the only iOS Developer in a fairly large company, didn't quite realize this / know to ask during the interview processes.
I recently moved to Austin which is a tech hub. Would you say it's better to spend 2-3 years in one tech hub or try other places as well?
I see myself starting a podcast to build my online presence

Hey Bryce... yes, the team is SO important. A good team is better than a higher salary any day (for the long-term prospects of your career).
As for location... If you feel your network is good, opportunities are abundant, and you like the city... then there's no reason to move. But if you don't feel that way, then I would try another.
