I really don't understand why this channel doesn't have more subs. They do one of the most complete actual performance tests on all bikes. I might suggest using a heavier rider as the main test rider looks pretty light as most buyers will be seniors and a lot heavier. Maybe around 200Lbs.
For Florida riders (almost no steep hills) this is a pretty nice overall package. 500 watt motor, well-tuned with a high-cap battery = more range....that's good. Looks like a nice beach cruiser as well.
@@arunmaroliThe OP said the L885, Radio Flyer's longtail cargo bike, not the M880. The Radwagon 4 and Packa Genie in the same color look almost identical. As for price, they are all within $100 of each other. As for tire size, why is a smaller tire size better or worse? There are tradeoffs for going in either direction, but not just negative period. The Rad has 22", the Blix 24" and the RF has 26" front/ 20" rear- so, a mix here.
Really appreciate the “no holds barred” commentary. As a cargo bike the center of gravity seems high when compared to the RadWagon 4 or the Blix Packa Genie. What is your feeling about this since Pierce did review the RadWagon. Thanks for the excellent reviews.
Did you end up buying a cargo bike? I’m interested in the Flyer L885. It’s a longtail which looks like this one in the front but has a 20” wheel in the back to lower the center of gravity. Believe they are sending them out for reviews now
@@wakawaka1976 No I didn't. I decided on the Rad City 5 Plus with accessories. I get the utility I need but in a more compact bike. I use it for grocery and light shopping errands. If I were doing heavier loads I would have decided on a cargo specific bike.
Did the chain hit and make noise on that kickstand? I can see the racks all attached in frame. Can you carry a person like the cargo smaller bikes? Thanks for your reviews.
Question - You make comment about adequate leg extension. How tall are you and which size bike was the one you reviewed? Was it a large? I am 6'2" and want to be able to get to full leg extension. In your opinion, would the large version do that for me? Cheers.
Apologies if i simply missed if you covered it in the video, but do you have information about how long the battery takes to charge? Of course that depends on how drained the sucker is. I'm brand new to my investigation into eBikes. In all my research, charge times seem to be vague; or i'm just not at my A-HA moment with translating watt-hour size to charge times. Thanks for the solid review.
Hi I'm new to ebikes and I really like this one and the L885. Does "payload capacity" at 300 pounds mean the rider can be 300 pounds or is that what the bike can handle before it breaks?
Yes, max rider weight, and any additional cargo the bike is carrying, would be limited to 300lbs in this instance. We go into weight ratings in the second section of our article here if you'd like more info. electricbikereport.com/ebikes-for-heavier-riders/
We did not. We experimented with throttle only range tests a few times, but found it is usually just a few miles shorter than max PAS on average. So any max test you see you can expect about 5-15% less if using just throttle.
@@ElectricBikeReport bike is beautiful but leaves out option to go up hills, my area has lots of hills, it may make it up but the motor and controller life will be taxed, those cargo racks ain't carrying air.

I like the Long Tail L885 version. I would love to see a review on how the turning is with that bike.

What a brilliant review and tests really really good covered everything 👍👍👍👍
Thank you! 👍

Definitely!
Excited about your test with the Flyer L885 to see how it compares to the Radwagon 4 and Packa genie! 👍
Radwagon looks ugly and Packa genie is quiet expensive, both have smaller tiers compared to M880

The Radio Flyer website says 10 hours.

Can you tell us your height and what size bike you tested? They have a S, M and L on their website.
6'1" I believe it was the large??? can't remember off the top of my head (lots of bikes tested since....)
Mid tail?
Longer tail than standard, not yet approaching typical cargo bike lengths though.
I have a 1000' of elevation to climb and I'm 6'2" 270lbs. and struggling to fine an engine that supports my requirements. Help would be appreciated.

Where can I buy the charger
I'd start with checking Radio Flyer's website, or if you don't see it there, message their customer service
Lol the motor sounds like a fire truck
Probably more tire noise
Sucks
Because...?
