In this video, we are covering the Dublin and Monaghan bombings of 17 May 1974 during the Troubles. These bombings resulted in the greatest loss of life in any one day of the conflict.
I'd completely forgotten about this and had do some research, 17th May 74, got on to my last remaining Uncle, he ran a pub in Dublin, the Hole in the Wall P Park. I was 7 then, I know we all want to move on, but this and Omagh were pivotal events, that should be remembered by everyone because it defines us and our political evolution and what we fought for to get us to where we are, and also that we seem to be on the verge of losing it to people who refer to us as the "Irish Community" in our own country. Makes my blood boil.
"Ireland for all" they say. Ireland isn't for all. It can't be for all when there's less than 5 million of us
Enniskillen was also a pivotal moment, as was Warrington.

Thank you for this. This has never been forgotten here. A terrible day and a terrible act.
Sadly the Irish government was passing information to the British to assist on its war on terror. But then the British used that information they were receiving from the Irish government to assist the UVF to carry out this appalling atrocity.
This is why everything went quiet with a massive cover up.
Oh please, spare us the pathetic conspiracy theory. The UVF did this to punish Irish Nationalist's for the IRA's atrocities. Irish Nationalists always want to find some way to blame Britain rather than accept it is the inevitable result of IRA murders and the Nationalist's depraved indifference to them .
Thank you Davey , I love Talbot Street . On 11th Sept 2001 after watching the Twin Towers come down , me and my brother flew out to Dublin and without booking checked into the Chelsea, as it was known at the time I think , backpackers hostel in Gardiner Street and drank in The Celt Bar . 2016 I went solo for Centenary year and booked into the Isaacs Hostel not realising it was right round the corner from where we were .... and that's when I seen the kerbstone right across from the Celt Bar where the bomb exploded commemorating the slain and horror to think of what happened that horrible day on a lovely busy Dublin Street and how it was allowed to happen .... collusion be no illusion....... I've always been drawn there , stayed in the Jacobs hostel just up the road at Easter there as the Isaacs now caters for the homeless .... thank you for keeping history alive ( sorry for the long message )

Property damage is one thing.. the loss of innocent lives entirely another..

Sure the south is still somewhat controlled by Britain they have agreements to let the royals In no matter what and their betrayal of the Provisionals during the war under the control of Britain any normal country would have went to war somewhat after the bombing but irish government too cowardly

The loyalists were never again able to repeat a car bomb anywhere north or south only shootings so they had to have been help and collusion from thr British.
Mid ulster uvf and britsh military intelligence.
According to wikipedia there were 34 people murdered.
They will meet "the Man above" one day and answer for it; they won't escape justice there.
They're all dead. Some killed in a loyalists feud, others killed by the I.R.A. It is believed the guards passed on their names to the RA because the RUC wouldn't extradite them to the Republic.
It blows my mind to find out about this. In Australia the impression we are given that all the troubles were caused by the IRA but obviously that is far from the truth.
I always found it strange that Gerry Adams didn’t go on a hunger strike to lead by example.

The most fatal days of the troubles were the Omagh Bombing and the Enniskillen Remembrence Day. Of course the Dublin bombings were horrific, but let us not forget those other bombings including the Abercorn Cafe Bomb, The La Mon Restaurant Bomb, the bomb on the Shankill that killed innocent shoppers, Loughgall, Strabane where teenagers were heard screaming for mercy. These are only a few of the atrocities in beautiful Ulster with it is Hills and Glens and Rivers and lakes. Where have all the flowers Gone? gone to graveyards every one.when will they ever learn
Well said and all the Catholics that had to run and move elsewhere. I grew up been told Dublin an further people down the country turned there backs on what was really happening in the north during the troubles.
The total misery has effected my family. I am from the border North and South.
......but the most fatal DAY of the troubles was the 17th May, 1974 and it did not happen in Northern Ireland, it happened in Ireland.
When serving and retired British soldiers, along with their loyalist friends, crossed the border and murdered Innocent men, women and children in Dublin and Monaghan. They murdered 34 people, including an unborn child, and injured almost 300 others.
More people died in the mc Gurks pub bombing in Belfast , 1971 ( 15 ) than at Enniskillen (12 ) or at la mon ( 12 ) , but I guess that wouldn't fit your agenda .
This should be forced viewing for all migrants who insist on living here for free.
