I may not have one of the very highest male voice types in the world, but it's still high enough to reach SOME feminine notes. Even if my voice stays south of A4, that still covers most of the contralto region and I WILL sing up to Ab4 when I cover "Alone" by Heart in a lower key that does not exceed that note, knowing that I can just as easily sing all the way down to Gb2. Gb2 to Ab4 is the area where I would enjoy singing that song and I can deliver sheer power on middle C. I often look at the music of powerhouse mezzo-sopranos with powerful C5 notes and I will often move their C5's down to C4 because it's the C4 that is one of my powerhouse notes. That is exactly why I sing an octave down from Celine Dion with her song, "It's All Coming Back To Me." I would not sound very good, singing Michael Jackson in the same high keys that he sang in, but I can do a lot of stuff, transposing music from all the different voice types, both male and female. I know there are some very high tenors whose voices are consistently among feminine notes around a treble clef C, but that is not me. Being a powerhouse with a lower voice, I sing most comfortably around that middle C. I can make that G3 to G4 range sound big and exciting on my voice.

@@rorschach5883 it is a form of resonance in the voice (the location varies from person to person) but essentially, it’s a sound that sounds like a witch cackling to access higher notes. As you ascend in pitch (for males ESPECIALLY), you want to lighten your vocal weight and lean on that twangy, pharyngeal resonance while still maintaining some elements of chest so that it does indeed sound like a belt. What this person is probably commenting is that he goes up to E5 chest, but in reality, it’s probably just pharyngeal resonance alone with no chest, which gives the sound a metallic timber with no vocal weight. It’s kind of like cheating and “placing it in the mask”

Im definitely between tenor and baritone.. But i got a few questions tho, does the range in the video include head voice or only chest register? Because i want to find my voice type, understand it better and copy some artist of the same voice type to help learn my voice more.. Even with example above, im not sure are their voice is just high or they taught themselves to sing high because a lot of baritone also sang high.. I am absolutely untrained so i can either do chest/head only and i cant mix so i don't know where i belong😂..
The only indication that i know now is my speaking voice is soft and quite high (people always mistaken me for a lady when on the phone) and my head voice can go up to B5 but i just cant belt high.. I always love singing but since i was a kid (i only sing in my room and using head voice only cuz it isnt as loud as chest - i guess my voice is not that high my head voice is good just bcuz i pretty much sing with it most of the time

Countertenor is a gray area between an actual voice type and a role within opera. Lots of operatic countertenors are really baritones or regular tenors who know how to use falsetto very well. There is a subtype of the tenor called the tenore contraltino, which is a squeaky high tenor singing in the range of a contralto or perhaps even a mezzo-soprano.

He’s not a really experienced singer and therefore his vocals needed to be edited somehow so that it wouldn’t sound as funny as on the original demo. Yes, I shortly checked something by them. Thomas‘ voice indeed has some light qualities in the upper range which you could consider as lyric tenor timbre but I don’t believe that he ever had a really good singing technique because he sounds a bit flat and one dimensional. And the other thing with the higher vocals is interesting because there has been a group of session singers who have claimed for years that they sang a lot of background vocals for Modern Talking and have never been credited for it which Dieter Bohlen has always denied to be true.

Of course the weight of your voice and your age is also important. I am guessing that you are still young? Then you will have a lyrical voice. It will either be a Lyric Tenor voice or a Lyric Baritone voice. Have you learned to sing pass your passaggio or break in your voice? Sometimes inexperienced tenors first need to learn to sing pass the passaggio. If your full voice goes to G4 then you are Lyric Baritone or a Lyric Tenor that needs experience, and that needs to learn to sing in mixed voice. Baritones do not have low voices, it is a middle voice. The middle register is the most important in the baritone voice. Baritones will rarely sing their lowest notes, it is a voice that needs to be strong in the middle register, around C3 - E4. Where does your voice break into falsetto?

The difference is technique, the lowing of the larynx creates a darker sound. These classifications in the video are very wrong. Bocelli in opera terms is actually a very light leggero tenor. Phelps is a full lyric tenor, the others are light light lyric tenors. There are no spinto and dramatic tenors here. An example of a dramatic tenor in pop is Tom Jones. Spinto and dramatic tenors are extremely rare. Bocelli trained under Franco Corelli, go and listen to his voice, he was a real dramatic - spinto, listen to his Nessun Dorma or E Lucevan le Stelle.
