In Greece we say, is more easy to change religion than to change football team"
You can change everything but your team, no matter if it is football, basket or any sport.
You only get to drop your team the day you drop your last breath

As a german i can say a few things about that
You feel very connected to the people around you and like you are part of something really big.
Nothing matters just your love for the club.
Clubs, particularly in germany, have a special status in law.
They are not companies people take great interest in. Its ... literally a club you can join.
Which allows you to part-take in voting of the leading personell of the club (its works very similar to our political elections).
Thus these clubs (sometimes more, sometimes less) really show and stand for the values of the people that are supporting it.
Sometimes clubs even have a political identity. Like St. Pauli in Germany or Lazio Rom in Italy.
I come from a "working town" that made a lot of money in coal and steel back in the day. And values like "hard work, always getting back up, blood sweat and tears" are deeply ingrained into the region. And thats also what we expect from the players, we dont expect technical brilliant, mind blowingly beautiful football.
We want work horses that never give up. If they do that and lose thats totally fine.
"Hard work, always getting back up, blood sweat and tears" and "We want work horses that never give up. If they do that and lose thats totally fine" sounds a loooot like shared values with Santiago Wanderers from Valparaíso, Chile, founded in 1892 as a response to the "local british bourgeoisie folks" residents in the city, who, back in time, practice football just as a "socialité activity".
Are you from the Ruhr area?
@@rid1bee I'm from Valparaíso, Chile
Just to mention: Dynamo Dresden at 14:30 just plays 3rd league in Germany!
You have to know that these light flare's are prohibited in most countries in Europe but they still get them inside the stands. In Europe football is a way of life and you support your team everywhere. Before I had kids I travelled to 10 different countries in Europe to support my team during European away games. The band you get with you fellow supporters is something unique. I've been to Ajax Amsterdam ( Netherlands ) a few times as well and it's amazing to experience the atmosphere over there!
yep, had pyro down my trousers to get into a few grounds 🤣
In the Netherlands Feyenoord has the best ultras and fantastics. Ajax is just the biggest club, but is does not have the best atmosphere.
It’s not the same like the US, if you bring flares it’s considered basically bringing a weapon and can be a felony.
@@smoaky123 probably going to avoid US goes, they seem way too tame lol
@@richivey1044 because a $2 flare isn’t brought in? That’s how we gauge these events? 😂😂😂 college football games in the US are still massive and very exciting.
The one with the date 1944 was the tribute on the day of 73rd anniversary of Warsaw Uprising. We have a time in the day everyone in a whole country of Poland stands for few minutes in silence to honor the people who took a part in it and died for our freedom. It is called "W hour". The fans stood in silence and brought the banner up to honour the fallen.
good to know. greetings from Germany 🤝
Should of called it Great Britain day because without Britain you would all be speaking German.....
@@jezlanejl What? Without Poland you would be speaking German too... And this day has nothing to do with Britain. On this day Britain was nowhere in sight when innocent people died slaughtered by Germans. If you want to say something like that you should at least know a bit of history or just about the date you are talking about. You just look a little stupid making statements like this offending the people who died there fighting for their country and those who fought in other battles fighting for yours and many other countries.
P.S Britain helped only when they were endangered by Germany (I understand they didn't want to start a fight when they didn't have to) and many Poles died already so I don't know what I should thank Britain for. They helped sure but Poland was a good ally in the fight with Nazi Germany. At the end it was probably because of joint forces of Poland and Britain but Britain gave away Poland at the end to Russians so they betrayed Poland's trust.
@@dotty3825 , Ummm really, England could of stayed well out the war or even teamed up with the Germans but we had some stupid pact saying if Poland got invaded we would join in on there side, we could of f'ed you up but we stood by our word. Without that how would Poland even have a chance, we bankrupted ourselves and lost an Empire basically because of Poland.
@@jezlanejl You do know that H!tler wanted to conquer Europe? You were not safe eather way but if you stayed away from the battle at that time Germany would seize Poland and France and you would have to fight them on your own. Then you wouldn't even exist on the map.
Bro, I live in Germany and am a real football fan of a German team myself. I can tell you that it's the same with every football game, in every stadium, this is an experience that everyone must have had, an experience that has to be experienced.
Most fans grew up in the city, we know the fan chants from a young age, it's not just about football, but about our city, family, culture. It's like showing to be ready to defend the city.
As a paok fan ( 7:53 ) I have to say that every time I go to a match, the atmosphere is amazing and it’s worth going there only to see it

Supporting your club in Europe can sometimes have very little to do with football, and be all about pride, patriotism, rivalries, politics and sometimes religion. It’s an escape from the real world and being an ultra is ultimate way for people to express their passion and love for their club.
It’s really hard to put it into words, but it’s not just being a fan of a football club for them, it’s a way of life.
It's a substitute for war.

Germany has a rule called the 50+1 rule, which means a football club can never be totally owned by outside investors, which means the fans tend to own their own clubs, as a result they are some of the most passionate fans in the world. And yes as an Englishman it pains me to say that, but at least Leeds United made the video, defiantly one of the loudest and most passionate English teams.
The same in Sweden, great rule.....
Yeah this save our leagues, but it gives ways to evade this rule. Look for example RB Leipzig

Missed one of the most impressive in recent years. Look at Iceland national team fans Viking chant they did at the 2016 Euro and 2018 World Cup. For such a tiny island nation, it’s awe inspiring to watch.
Just so you know... In 2015 in France, there had been a terrorist assault on multiple places in Paris. One of them targeted the stadium where an international game (France - Germany) was being played. No one reacted on the first explosion of the first bomb. The second one, some players did understood it was weird, but still they continued to play. It's only after the game that everybody (including fans in the stadium) learned about the suicide bombs terrorists. By chance, they "only" manage to kill one person, because they couldn't come inside the stadium.
Yeah, sometimes people use firecrackers so loud it sounds like a literal bomb, to the point to when a real bomb explode just at the entrance of the stadium, nobody flinch.
Also, it is cool to see the good side of the Ultra, they really know how to put a show. But with their passion, they are also sometimes troublesome. Many many bad things happening with football fans is almost always related to ultra groups. Fights outside of inside the stadium, racists songs or slurs, aggression towards players or security agents, and the list can go on and on. It's really like a double edged sword. Sometimes the greatest thing in football, sometimes the worst...
The sickest feeling is when you are "inside" the stadium and you are about to walk through the tunnel out to where the stands are. Everything is vibrating and you hear muffled noise and only get a small glimpse of the arena in the narrow tunnel as you walk in. And it opens up and its like nothing else. Its like entering another World
The smell of beer, sausage and weed everywhere. Love it.
I'm definitely going to experience this, that's one of my life goal now!
kunde inte sagt det bättre själv :)

Hi, German here, it's a damn great experience if you ask me. It just feels so great supporting your club like that and it's this like huge, massive thing and it feels and looks so powerful. You literally can't not enjoy it
feels like you're part of a big family, with 100 uncles who are shirtless and no one knows why xD
As an English fan you’re right
the thing americans struggle to understand is our relation with clubs. Its not like a franchise you choose to support. Its about passion.
True, the club can’t be moved to another city. In some countries, like Sweden and Germany, the clubs are run by members and outside investers can only own 49%.
Yeah the idea of a franchise is frankly bizarre. Inter Miami for instance, didn’t exist a few years ago now it has 20k fans at games?
It’s just weird, I support who I support because of generational allegiance, I really didn’t have a choice, it was dictated at birth.
When you are with the fans, and the atmosphere gets you, a man, that's the best feeling. It's indescribable. You have to live it to know it
It feels so powerful. Like all these people with you are united into one organism and it is so-so powerful and strong that it is unbreakable and it makes all the people feel unbreakable. This feeling is beyond anything I have felt ever.

Hello from Austria! I used to attend Rapid Wien, the green team from Vienna. Imagine being part of these great crowds when you were a child. It was sooo amazing participatiing as simply everyone is doing the same.
Welcome to Europe ! This is what passion mean and love for our teams !
Here in Europe it's about the passion not about the game that much and the americans would never understand that
Its passion given from grandfather to father. From him to me an I will give it my son, that he can give it my grandson. This passion is more than a human life it's survive generation.
In Europe we,the fans, make the atmosphere unlike the US were they have singers/dancers/etc.
Why can't we? Stop gatekeeping the worlds largest sport
As much as I'd like to see americans get their heads out of their asses, I really can't imagine listening to 90+ mins of "I believe that we will win!" and don't forget the lyrical genius of "USA! USA!".
Get good. Of course there's goons at the gate.
@@19dd48 No TF we don't you prick. Americans get very passionate for sports.
5:55 It was the anniversary of an event from the WW2 - the Warsaw Uprising.

Being on a football match in Europe is magic. You go for the game to support your club, and the club comes to play to support their fans. They play for their fans, we sing for our team. It can become really strong and emotional. Especially if you win against your biggest rival, the cup or the series or conference league, European league or champions league. You just love your club.
And the more sound the better.
Football here, in Europe, is like a religion. Each neighborhood or town has its own football team and you get raised in that religion of your neighborhood's team. Sometimes football matches are becoming wars between neighbouhoods or towns. We love our teams with passion!
When I was younger, I never missed a single match of the local team. It was a small team, it played at the regional level. But it was hot in the stadium. When a team from a neighboring city came to us, in 90% of cases everything ended in a grand fight. Everyone took part in it: fans, football players, coaches, police... Once we were losing 0-3, and the coach of our team asked me and a few other guys to cut the tires of the opponents' club bus. And we did it. And of course, we understood that in a few weeks we will go to play in the city of our rivals, and there we will be beaten, thrown stones and fireworks... But it was fun, it was a youth drive.
You feel like if we are just one entity its amazing 😉 Europe history give us all this heart and soul, thousands of years together sharing the continent. Greetings from London 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
When you are in the crowd you are just lit and singing everithing you could
German here. The atmosphere in those stadiums is just unbelievable. Everybody is jumping and yelling. The emotions are also on a different level. Sometimes you have children yelling at the referees and calling their mom h0€s and stuff. It’s just different here in Europe man
You asked how they are all in sync. Well, when you visit a match of your club for the first time, you will learn the songs and celebrations by just taking part in it. If you don't understand some of the lyrics, you can ask anybody in your stand and they will be more than happy to help you as they see that you're a new fan (or maybe a visitor from another place that is interested in the club).
Greetings from Germany!
I love Frankfurt bro, I wanna visit
the crowds in Germany is so amazing
You may not gonna read this, but sport, especially football in Europe, is our modern way of fighting eachother.
Europe has been at war with itself for centuries, litterally centuries. Not one country havent been at war either with itself, or with another at some point in history.
Modern sports, and the fan culture of the teams often has roots in the history of citys or regions fighting eachother.
If you rewind to the part of Napoli and read the translation, you get the part of "And we defend this city!"
So instead of actually fighting eachothers in wars, we support the teams we belong to, and through them, we "fight".
So it can some times look very violent and chaotic, and some times it does get that.
But however violent it may get at these games, it beats getting into actual wars.
Napoli fan here, thanks for the video. However proud of my colors, we have to admit that Greece is just at the next level. Respect to PAOK Ultras 🔥
Thanks my brother ⚫⚪🇬🇷🤝🇮🇹
PAOK against Fenerbahce. That is the thing I would like to see the most
14:11 the sick thing about Dynamo Dresden is that they have such awsome support, even though they're not one of the top teams. They actually are only 3rd division
I‘m from Germany and I went to one of the games of Cologne and this was crazy. The people sang all the 90 minutes straight and every time they score a goal, they spin their scarf around and it was amazing. (They won the game)
Right now it's a hard time for them. 2 year trade ban, relegation, their derby partner wins trebble, their bad ex players start to play like Ronaldinho in other Bundesliga teams. Gotta feel for them
Being a football fan in Europe is tribal it’s not just about the team it’s where your from your born into it , it’s your identity
huge supporter of paok here, and football here in greece is more than just a game, more than a passion!
exactly man paok forever
It's like the biggest party ever when you go there. I'm from Germany and it's really special everyone supports the team no matter if they loose or not they won't stop it's so cool
for my experience: its hard to describe, its just sooooo much energy, the air is blistering, when you get to one of tose games where you have a hypetrain like that ( not every game is like that tho)
When you are there you can't help but join in. Watching on youtube you'd think it was terrifying but the atmosphere is contagious. You feel at home in no time.
I was home Naples Italy for the 2006 World Cup. EVERYBODY was watching the final match Italy v France on tv. If you muted the sound on your own set you would still hear it from the neighbours. When When the final whistle went and Italy won the whole bay of Naples lit up with fire works, the sound of horns and singing like we all were at the stadium. In Europe football is not a matter of life and death, it’s much more important than that!
It's a rush being at these games. Football is huge and people are very passionate about it in Europe and South America. I've been to a number of big games around Europe but the one that really stuck with was a game between Inter and Juventus in Italy. That was absolutely nuts!
Not just Europe and South America. It’s huge in Asia , Middle East and African. Its huge pretty much all over the world apart from the USA.
You feel amazing. Afterwards, first time you are alone, win or loose. You feel like you have been shaken violently.
Then you go to bed, sometimes with a bit of tinitus.
Then you wake up and do what is expected of you.
Thank you for content. ❤

When I was young things were better for my team, they played in the first German League, now they are in the Third Leage and I don't go that often to matches...
The reason people don't get hurt from flares (atleast here in Sweden) is because the ones holding the flares are usually very friendly and warn the people around them so that they can move.
I've had a season ticket for two clubs that are in this video. First from 1996 to 2004 I was at Ajax, in Amsterdam, and from 2006 to 2009 I had a season ticket for Celtic in Glasgow, Scotland. Dutch fans are some of the best. When Netherlands played Northern Ireland in Belfast a few years ago. Their fans marched from city hall to the stadium behind a big orange double decker bus blasting hard style . The created a great atmosphere both outside and inside the stadium . Some great videos on CZcams
However Dutch national team fans are totally different then club fans.

bro the Italians and Germans are the wildest, it's literally super cool to go to their stadiums
the Poles too but if there are particular events
I'm from Portugal, my club being Sporting, and we may not win a lot, but when we win we go CRAZY! Last time we won was in 2021 and even tho it was during a pandemic nothing stopped us. But the two other big clubs in Portugal (Benfica and Porto) have the same passion that we have. We have songs, anthems, chants to celebrate and love our club. In Portugal and in all Europe we truly live and love football 💚
Ultras don't just chant about football but also about remembering historical events Especially in places like Turkey, Greece and Middle Eastern countries and North African countries they are also used to do protests and fuel protests. Why you might ask because the authorities will struggle if at all to identify in mass crowds and its televised.
Now in the case of legia Warsaw in Poland the first one you saw was to do with historical remembrance of events that shouldn't be forgotten such as the atrocities in ww2 by Germany including ordinary German army units and the bravery of those that fought against Germany in the Warsaw uprising.
The second one you saw was legia Warsaw ultras protesting against UEFA the governing body for football in Europe and calling UEFA greedy for always giving fines to Legia Warsaw ( some of the fines were justified) for way either fans behaved or lack of control from the club.
So that tifo of UEFA as a pig and all the flares being lit was in protest and as a big fuck you to UEFA

Being in a game like this in Germany, especially with thousands of fans, that's a different experience, no one else can match it, and our ultras are the most violent, but they're always cool, you get cool shots and great pictures, and the feeling there is just awesome
10:24 Australian. Murica is never gonna get the difference.
In a lot of European clubs there is standing room only location which is why you get so many of these simultaneous jumping clips, especially Germany!
I'm from Germany and I've been to a few games. It's awesome! Even if you don't know the songs you'll learn them quickly. Besides all their rhhyms are easy, so yaou can just go with it, without knowing the lyrics. It's awesome! I can't really describe the feeling but you feel like one big friendly community and it gives you an adrenalin + dopamin spike for the whole time. You come for the game and the crowd. It's a 50:50mix for me.
regarding the flags, big ones have to be registered here before, so you can bring them through security. The really big ones (f.ex. the ones you saw in Warsaw) are usually from the (independent) fan club of that team and also have to be registered and checked prior to the game.
Regarding the fire, it's illegal. People smuggle that in and some games have to be delayed or stopped multiple times due to the smoke. Alsi the club has to pay a fine per bengalo (up to 1.000€/stick). It's a dick move imo. In other countries they are legal, but only in a certain part of the stadium (again with prior registration), where the club installed something like a fume hood (the ones in kitchens, but bigger), so you can have the visual effect of the fire, but no smoke on the field and in other parts of the stadium f.ex. the family blocks, where smaller children sit.
Feels awesome going to these games, playing against the neighbouring cities and matches at the bottom of the tables are the best!
As a german: its fund to watch sports in a stadium. You get really hyped, loose or win. But with certain teams, i am afraid to walk home afterwards. Some hooligans just are not ok anymore.
My experience is a kick to go to these games
in Europe it is the best supporters and unite in football, fantastic feeling
to stand with all the supporters and join in singing and enjoying
In Europe we can use all kinds of flags
Crazy Experience where the vibe takes over you if you want or not 🔥
Its so amazing. I get goosebumps everytime❤
I'm half italian and half german, i grew up in italy and live now in germany. In both, the feeling of a full stadion, is an experience, every time.
So you are fan of which club :)
@@SKSG1909ACF Fiorentina, the team from Florence (ITA)
At Signal Iduna Park( Borussia Dortmund) one grandstand/platform has 25.000 Places. That vibe is crazzzzzy. You need to watch that. 25k fans on one side of the Stadium.
Respeto para todos los hinchas europeos, son otro nivel de hinchada sin duda😊
I am from germany and to be in this crazy crowd at my favorite club SV Werder Bremen is an incredible feeling
I like how it escalated from a single lonely flare to whole stadium on fire 😳
Tudod ember ez az amit soha sem fogtok meg érteni! Mi meg halnánk a szeretett klubbukért!!! Ez az életünk! HAJRÁ FRADI
Yesss Germany! I wenn to a lot of Games and I always stand in the curve jumping and shouting. It's awesome! Best feeling. I recommend you going to a game in Germany. But I will tell you I went to AC Milan vs. Inter the Italian derby and that was a hell of a wild game. Never experienced something like that before. Goosebumps everywhere. I cried because it was so sick
The fans of Feijenoord Rotterdam in the Netherlands have a strong connection with their club and their stadium. The stadium which is named after the club has the nickname the Tub. Although there long has been a push to relocate to a new stadium, it looks like the Tub now will be renovated. The stadium as it stands now was built in the thirties of the last century and has a capacity of 47.500. When Feijenoord scores on home turf the fans are able to make the whole stadium shake. That is apparent as the camera stand up in the stadium moves that hard, that even stabilizing equipment gives up.

I Cannot wait until you go to a match. It IS so awesome to yell, chant and Root for your team.
Football supporter culture is something else. No sport events in USA even comes near this kind of commitment from the supporters.
