They are supposed to be saving old cars rather than destroying them. If they are not worth saving then they are not worth your time. Not only that, but if the 3.8 is as good as they say, then ironically, the more abuse it can take, the less it should.

@@flyingace5057 No it isn't, but it is better than crush and melt, plus they prove again and again that these cars can be driven on the road, and that is why I watch this channel, not races. So I do not approve of this episode.
@@alan6832 Makes sense. But correct me if I'm wrong, in Iowa there are vehicle inspections, but older cars (like the ones featured on this channel 99% of the time) are excluded from that. These aren't old enough to be in that so here they are. Also originally Nascar stock cars were vehicles taken from dealership lots and put on a track. Nobody ever seemed to complain about someone wrecking one of those back in the day. Basically, I understand what you're saying. But these cars would have otherwise probably been parted out or sent to the crusher. Another thing is these aren't all that old, so they're not "cool" in 10 or 20 years they're probably going to be like what a Olds delta 88 or an AMC are to us now. An old car with a cult following. One last point: I bet you wouldn't be mad if they were doing this with Prius's and crappy hybrids
@@flyingace5057 1) Both kinds of racing are wasteful and I object to both on that basis, though it is somewhat less so if measured on a per spectator basis, which in this case is 20K. I don't care as much about new cars because new cars aren't accessible to poor people anyway, where homeless people can live in big cars, vans and campers even when they don't run. 2) I'm not here for cool, though I do prefer it; I'm here for cheap. The priority should be to get it on the road as cheaply as possible and sell it to a poor person who needs it, and yes I do mind wasting hybrids, especially the early, 2 seat insights that can run long after the battery dies. 3) As for this in between stage where cars must still pass inspection. Resourceful people like them can repair some of them to get them past inspection, and carefully store the rest so that they can survive the elements until they are exempted, and part out 1 or 2.
The primary value of this show is it's utility to the very poorest of motorists and those who try to help them, some of whom must live in their vehicles. Not classic car collectors or racers.

Perfectly proper for a Monte Carlo to win the Gran Prix Gran Prix. You guys did a good job with the course layout. And brings a new appreciation to off road racing and the suspension and shocks those rigs have. I enjoyed it tremendously.

At the end of this video... THI S WAS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Y'all got the hearts of some real dirt-trackers. Best use I've EVER seen from some Ponti-wrecks. Fun as hell, No one got hurt, and everyone had fun. Hell yeah. I LOVE you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best design I think was the Dale Earnhardt car and I’m amazed at how well the Monte Carlo ran throughout the whole ordeal with DONUT rear tires. If that supercharged one hadn’t broken the tie rod, that thing would’ve had a shot at the Monte Carlo.
The donuts on the rear definitely helped the back end not to slide out!
Alot of Figure 8 guys run the piss out of these 3800s and stock donuts in the back is fairly common. It's a fairly stout platform haha

Real car guys understand that a car guy can be into whatever the fuck they want so long as it's cars, and don't try to gate keep based off stupid shit.
@@pantsmcgee That is highly untrue. A real car guy or car girl if there is such a thing do cars because they love cars. People who tune lambos or whatever the fuck often do it for attention or to look rich and flashy. Its the intention that makes a car guy a car guy.
I'm not gonna gate keep real car guys. Buy agreed this is far more interesting than Lambo rebuilds. That being said. I really enjoy hoovie and the wizard.
Car guys come in all flavors. Some like exotics, trucks, rallie cars, etc. Then you have some like me that get a raging boner over a 3K Buick Park Avenue Ultra but wouldn't look twice at a Lambo.

Wow, that is some grade A hilarious fun! The announcing/commentating was legitimately excellent!! I think y'all should keep the low water crossing, it adds depth to the course, and maybe 🤔 helps a little bit with cooling issues some cars might have.

The next one needs to be on an Asphalt oval. Actually down here in South Carolina we have a Banger class at some of our tracks. I don't know about Iowa but the banger class is quite literally a bunch of guys racing these around a little oval

Did this kind of stuff in my teens, in a friends back yard. His family had a dirt track and a shop, and got junkyard cars running JUST ENOUGH to have fun in. Brings back some great memories!
I watched that race from the first green flag to the final checker, got to say, that was some of the most enjoyable racing I have seen in a long time. All you guys put on an excellent race and an exciting show. I swear, if you guys do it again next year and set up bleachers, I would easily pay to a ticket and even bring a case of beer.
Looks like a great day, we used to have a SLR 6 cylinder and a HZ v8 station wagon we used to take out salt pan's near Adelaide, wasn't quite as much damage, but fun, a friend used to have a VB commodore as well, used to be fun after a rain, great watching thank you, all the best to yous and your loved ones

The funny thing is that the Monte Carlo is Chevrolet, not a Pontiac. They're basically the same car though.

Damn what a blast ! Should have used airbags at the end since there were no fireworks. On that note though you could always find some stuff to launch with the airbags for another video.
You should make this a yearly thing with a different car every year. You could sell a limited number of tickets. I would totally pay $100 and drive 6 hours to watch this. With the price of scrap and catalytic converters you could profit.

@@wheelpew4903 those Pontiacs are good cars. my 96 corolla 5 speed has 350k on it and still runs strong and burns no oil. corolla Also has seen a few deer itself unfortunately.. A trip to the junkyard for a new front quarter and its good as used.
