- A memorial event was held in the memory of Punjabi novelist S. Jaswant Singh Kanwal a Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Sector 28, Chandigarh. Speaking on this occasion, Sikh political analyst and author Bhai Ajmer Singh shared his views about "Jaswant Singh Kanwal's Approach Towards Political Movements and Struggle".

The dominant elite controlling the Indian nation today is the same privileged group of old that called Buddhists, Lingayatas and Sikhs sramanas/heterodox or fallen Dharms, that called low caste Dalits, adivasis (tribals) and Muslims, melecch, that have subordinated all castes, cultures, languages, traditions and religions to itself in a heirachy apexed by Sanskrit, Vedas, and Brahmana. Bhindranwales struggle was not only influenced by contemporary politics but had historical roots in Indian civilization itself.

ਪੰਜਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈਕੇ, ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਣੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੀਤ ਬਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਗਾਅ ਗਾਅ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਲੁੱਟੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਗੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਰਾਂ ਆਪਸੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਹਿਆ ।
ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ , ਮੈਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਣਾ ਹੈ । ਜਾਤ, ਜਨਮ ,ਧੰਨ, ਧਾਮ,ਹੌਦਾ, ਪਦਵੀ, ਊਚ, ਨੀਚ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ , ਪਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਗਲਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਕੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਰਾਜ ਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਬਣਕੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰੀ 2-3 ਸਾਲ,ਦੁੱਜੀ ਵਾਰੀ 40-45 ਸਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਭਾਗ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਸਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਠੁੱਸ ਹੋ ਗਈ । ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੇ ਜਕੜ ਰਖਿਆ ਹੈ ।
ਪਰ ਹੈਰਾਨੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਭਾਗ ਗਵਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਸੰਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ ।
ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਆਕਤੀ/ਰਾਜ ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਵਰਤਾਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਅਗਰ ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪੰਥ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਛੇਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ।
ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਹਸ਼ਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਵੀ ਗੁੱਝਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਦੀ ਉਚ ਕੋਟੀ ਦੀ ਸੂਝਬੂਝ ਹੋਣੀ ਜਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ । ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਤੋ ਦਸਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਤਕ ਇਹ ਸੋਚ ਉਚ ਕੋਟੀ ਦੀ ਸੀ,ਪਰ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੱਟੜਵਾਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਭੁੱਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ।ਨਾਂ ਇਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਨੇਤਾ ਬਣ ਸਕੇ ਹਨ ।
ਅੰਨਾ ਆਗੂ ਜੇ ਥੀਐ ਸਭ ਸਾਥ ਮੁਹਾਵੈ ।

Why Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala was doing politics if he didn't know anything about politics ......stay away from something if you don't know about something...... thousands of people were killed after 1984...... what were khadku trying to do after 1984 ??? What was their thinking about political economy , war tactics ?? Try to say something by logic otherwise everyone has subjective opinion..... politics don't go like this...... Ajmer Singh is emotional scholar , he was emotional about Naxalite movement and then about Khalistan movement...He was not political person , not even a historian......Now he is distorting facts with emotions...... History needs objectivity , not emotions..

From my limited experience, I believe insight into these topics from an educated sikh lense is what will allow us to move forward as a lot of people are stuck without any meaningful insight. We need a comprehensive, cohesive and sikhi-based discussion on these topics so that we can learn from them. Hope this doesn't come across as augmentative, I'm genuinely curious of your opinions.
