This is the best video ever on blood types... it finally makes sense. Now I just have to remember the armies in my test next week and I should be right! This channel is the saving grace of my paramedic biology classes 😂
you explained this like im four. I feel like i'm watching dora the explorer. not only is it easy to follow but i'm really excited to follow along and answer the questions. im actually interested in the video which isnt always the case with medical explanation videos. thank you so much !
Wow! Blood typing totally clicked in my brain! I have a great teacher, but I was still having a hard time wrapping my brain around the whole blood typing concept. This video just made the light bulb come and shine even brighter 😃👍 Thank you Dr. Matt!
Thank you so much for your videos, I've been binge watching them for my A & P exams and your terminology makes it so easy to remember, as it is a lot to digest from blood typing to the renal system, and so forth. So thank you!!
I have a test about this on Monday on my A&PII class.. and I feel like I will fail because I’m having a hard time to understand. But this video is so helpful. I get the topic now. Thank you so much. Keep making videos pls
My biology teacher in 8th grade made a visual presentation using glasses with colored water that stuck with me. Blue was A, Red was B, (mixed blue and red) Purple was AB, and Clear was O. Clear water "O" could be added to ANY glass on the table without changing their original color (O can be given to every blood type) The purple water "AB" could take, blue, red, or clear, without any issue, but adding purple water to the others would visually effect the original color (So if AB donor blood was given to an O recipient, it would be a disaster) granted none of this example much explained the Rh positives and negatives. But it was a nice learning aide for us youngsters.
Wow that's a crystal clear explanation. Can you please throw some light on whole blood and plasma transfusion in a another video possibly or atleast in this reply. Thanks in advance.
Im so glad for these videos, currently studying medical billing and coding and your videos are 1000x better than the 1960 videos they give us explaining things lol
this is awesome, i have been wrecking my brain for hours and i have my finals this week ... really wanted to give up. you guys made the concept super easy to learn and its empowering! thank you so much , i'm eternally grateful❤❤
Omg...been trying so hard to understand from other tutorials, the castle theorem makes me undrerstand everything!! Subscribed, prob can pass my bio coz of ur channel!
Hi dr Mike , I am really enjoing watching your videos . If your writting be abit clear would be fantastic as most of the time I take notes from what you write on the white board . Regards ,
thankyouuuuu, thankyou for not going fast and speaking so clearly (i'm half deaf). i'm supposed to be way past blood types but i needed to remember quickly as writing about O type and resistance to severe malaria!
I have O- blood. Years ago I had to have an operation and my blood group was listed as O+ I had one very unhappy surgeon when I pointed out my blood group was wrong on my chart. The nurse told me I was wrong I was definitely O+ and the hospital hadn’t made a mistake. I pointed out after having 3 children I was confident I knew my blood type. I heard a lot of shouting in the room my surgeon took everybody in 😳 my surgery was delayed whilst they checked my blood group. Yep I was right - definitely O-
You might have had circulating Anti-D from your Anti-D infusion in pregnancy - of course depending on when you last received this and your operation date. Your blood would show 0+, but the lab would be able to discern whether this was your true group or due to circulating anti-D. Good job you were vigilant with your medical team though
I'm just high schooler but this was very useful for me, I was so lost but when I saw your vedio .. I'm just like really great, I feel grateful for being your student ❤ #Freedom #Free_Palestine
I hope you all enjoy!! 😬
we always do thankyou

It's neat that the cells actually have flags waving identifying themselves

Wow! I loved the way you explained it. Thank you so much.
I've been struggling with learning the compatibility between blood types for my test this week. This IMMEDIATELY simplified it!

Explained it better than my professor, thank you!
I’m studying this now. You made it super easy!
Thank you for explaining this in simple terms, my professors go way too fast and that medical language is hard to follow.
Thank you for this😭.
I don’t think I’d have passed my exam today if I hadn’t landed on this video right before taking it🙌🏾.
Wow that's a crystal clear explanation. Can you please throw some light on whole blood and plasma transfusion in a another video possibly or atleast in this reply. Thanks in advance.

Hi dr Mike , I am really enjoing watching your videos . If your writting be abit clear would be fantastic as most of the time I take notes from what you write on the white board .

Love this explanation. Flags and armies- it is so clear now Thank you!
Such an amazing teacher
You are The Best 😊❤
Would love to hear your explanation of how negative blood types came about.... I am A-
Exactly, me too! Isn't the world's majority of population Rh positive, so why are the others negative?
Wow! This was perfect.
I understand it now. Excellent presentation
thankyouuuuu, thankyou for not going fast and speaking so clearly (i'm half deaf). i'm supposed to be way past blood types but i needed to remember quickly as writing about O type and resistance to severe malaria!
I never understood blood types during school. Now I do. Thanks

Thank you, well done Sir.
Thank you. So far this is the best 🎉
this was the best youtube explanation!
Thank you. This was so easy to understand!
Outstanding explanation
Very well explained 😎😎the flags and ANTIbodies references to armies helps to remember which types can be received or donated. O = universal dOnOr
😎 ✌🏽
Well explained, thanks @ Dr Matt &Dr Mike
So B- cannot receive from an B+ blood type due to the “D” flag. But can B+ receive from a B- since the B- doesn’t have a “D” flag?
the way he says Aey, Beey, Oue. LOL. but this village and flag analogy helps a lot, thank you. I have an exam tomorrow. i will not forget
I hope you passed your exam! 😊
I have O- blood. Years ago I had to have an operation and my blood group was listed as O+
I had one very unhappy surgeon when I pointed out my blood group was wrong on my chart. Yep I was right - definitely O-
That's scary, if they had given you O+ blood, couldn't you have died?
You might have had circulating Anti-D from your Anti-D infusion in pregnancy - of course depending on when you last received this and your operation date. Your blood would show 0+, but the lab would be able to discern whether this was your true group or due to circulating anti-D. Good job you were vigilant with your medical team though
Wow, you make it so easy to understand. Thank you so much! I understand it now 😁🌸
