Lorewatch: Orisa - Overwatch Lore & Speculation

- With a heritage that reaches back before the days of the first Omnic Crisis and a heritage that encompasses multiple peacekeeping robots, Orisa is a far more intriguing character than her one month age would suggest. Like her creator, the young genius Efi Oladele, Orisa has both the scope and capacity to be one of the greatest assets to the Overwatch world and it's people ever.
With Numbani still under threat, the shadow of Doomfist growing ever larger and the infamous gauntlet going missing on the eve of Unity Day, will we see her pressed into action soon?
And where will she fit in with Winston's new vision for the world and the rebirth of Overwatch? To the outside observer, Orisa and Efi would seem to be almost the perfect candidates to act as standard bearers for the future of humanity.

That feels like the most likely scenario. A short to bring him (finally) into the limelight and to flesh out Orisa more.

I'd love that too Davin. Hopes are still a little crushed by the First Strike cancellation, but I can't imagine they won't revisit it at some point. Everything at the moment seems to be pushing us forward rather than revisiting the past though

Love this vid a lot. Although Orisa's current Lore is basically what Jeff says in the dev update, the story telling is so good.
One thing I found interesting is that Orisa represents the future but is heavily tied to the past(Doomfist and stuff), while the other robot Bastion is a product of the past walking into future.
I hope we can see Mei as the next lorewatch hero. I think she've got quite a bit of lore but its scattered all over, also there are rumors about mei comic or something
oh another thing, the monitor in Efi's workshop looks so similar to the monitors in antarctica, lol

Great shout in terms of the differences Bastion and Orisa represent - I wonder how they'd react together. Orisa with her ancestry of Omnic peacekeeping and destruction being built anew with the heart of sorts Efi created against the still unexplained self awareness that Bastion has gained for himself.
Mei will probably be next, though I'd like a comic or a short to work with still. She does have more than the other three we've not yet down though (Zarya, Lucio & D.Va)

Orisa has a great voice and design, only lacking in gameplay I guess
But as a story aspect, I love her Baymax esque feeling to her. I think she's gonna be a nice foil to DF with her abilities, design, region etc

Lorewatch for D.Va?
When she gets enough lore :( she's still incredibly one dimensional at the moment and has no origin story animation, no comic and no short. Not even a blog, just the SC2 profile. She's extremely lightweight in lore terms - same with Zarya and Lucio.
She loves Starcraft and chewingum:P there ya go haha
D.Va is the Top 1 Starcraft gamer and was asked to join the robotics shit to defend their country (since her reflexes and APM is very needed in operating those robots), later on joined overwatch and does livestreams while fighting. She's dope

Streaming has long been something we've wanted to do and we have the hardware to do so, just finding time :) it's possible Dantier may start streaming on our channel within the next few months but no solid guarantee!

What characters are there that you can still make a lorewatch on?
Doomfist (have a script), Mei (short today helps), Lucio, D.Va and Zarya. Last three just don't have enough to work with :(

I think it's been a theory since Efi was revealed but I don't think it got too much traction. Partly because Efi isn't old enough to have hacked Sombra. Doesn't mean Numbani couldn't be linked though, just isn't enough info to make a solid connection for now.
