this video was truly inspiring i live in morden and i have not been able to travel by train for quite a few years due to my Siderodromophobia (fear of trains). even though this video showed a journey to morden and not from there. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!1!! i will try to get on a train tomorrow to see my friend in tooting bec. even though its only a few stops this is a massive step for me and people with my condition. videos like this show that there is no danger of travel nor reason to avoid.:)

I used to be terrified of the central line before the trains were refurbished at the front i dont know why its just they looked scary although i was young at the time.

I love Clapham Common and Clapham North with a passion, island platforms are the best!
I remember Angel station in the mid 1980s it was like those but became too congested so had to be re built. Before 1968 Euston bank Branch was same but that’s before my time lol 😂
they are quite dangerous at peak times though :/
the screech of the northern line was my favourite part of coming to central london as a kid. i also remember once when me and my aunt did the exact same journey and we timed how long it took between stations. fun project. :)

I really enjoyed watching this video. Really good, shot from the right which allows viewing of tracks and trains in the opposite direction... and keeping the real London Underground sound instead of overlaying with infernal rock and roll music.

They are the same train just with different motors and interiors
i do sometimes say that if i was on the central line, i'd have got home by now... the 1992 stock (and 2009 stock) is FAST!

These are really the only trains I would drive if I was a tube driver because I prefer to be on the road nowadays

Possibly 31:47 would be better time because if you all notice: out of the window the wall drops away for a while leaving a dark useless place in front of the camera. Then there is a light, the platform ends and the wall comes back against the train. You have to look hard though!

On the 1996 stock is says for example, 96026. 96 for year of manufacture, 26 being he train number in the fleet. Why does the Northern line start with 51?

It depends on how long the train is at the station. It might be stuck there for a few minutes. You never know

I was just saying that the 2009 stock seem nearly as fast as the 1992 stock. I miss using the Central Line, now it's all London Overground Class 172s.
1995 Stock sounds alike to the 1996 Stock. Although the 95 has a better pull away.

How to identify a 1995 Tube stock's serial number?
Check infront of the train cab
95 Stocks serial number starts with "51"
You can see either inside or outside right by the cab, outside on the sides and inside by the ventilation window. Hope this helps!

***** ya I forgot and originally Elephant & Castle was to be a right-hand ran station but it was objected maybe bcos it was next to Kennington and it's not far enough to switch between right-hand running and left-hand running. Borough is pretty odd in that part of the line with a top-to-bottom layout. It's idealistic layout it's not just because the narrow road above but also to make it easier to switch between right and left-hand running I think.
***** Although I still don't get it why they have to make London Bridge and Bank running with right hand. This makes that part opening on the left especially northbound haha.
Ya ikr even Kentish Town, Tufnell Park and Camden Town have a top to bottom layout too. Since. Embankment was a terminus before, it only had a loop platform but then the through service opened and the loop track is closed so northbound is on the left and southbound is on the right but is not with a top to bottom layout. And strangely they don't want to build it side by side. And about Moorgate, that's why the southbound platform curved at the south end of the platform so front doors don't open southbound and both northern line platforms are narrow because when it changes back to left hand running from bank it cannot make a too sharp curve to make a bigger island platform.
That's why u can observe that when the train leaves moorgate southbound it descends directly and curves to the right

But waterloo I'm not sure cos it's rather strange that northbound opens on right and southbound on left maybe cos the southbound has cross-platform interchange with w & c lines? Strange huh?
