    Today, I'm thrilled to welcome Jay Motty to the show. Hi, first time here as a Stretford Paddock viewer and I didn't know how this vid would go at all, I thought I was getting footy lol. BUT I am also an addict, the demon drink being my fight. Near 13 years sober now and counting, but it is still a fight every day. Today I REALLY needed this video though, anxiety and depression were what I tried to drink my way past, coz I'm Scottish and that's what we do lol, and both of those issues were kicking my head in today so thank you for this, you've lifted my spirits in just the way I needed. Thank you both for bringing me just the tonic i needed today i really appreciate you both. UTFP! ❤

This kind of work is so important; blokes talking about blokey things whilst being positive about making healthy and much needed life changes. As a hash smoker from 12 and an avid party drug taker up until the ages of about 16 to 28, for me speed is the worst drug I've done.
    Very addictive. I used to do it at work just to get me through the working day after not sleeping over the weekend.
    Physically and mentally head fucking. I looked ill for many years, barely spoke to my family.
    Weirdly, I don't regret it, I've had some amazing times with friends using party drugs, but I'm not trying to encourage anybody by saying that. It's a risky game to play with your physical and mental health.

    Really dont understand why we are celebrating this? This man probably caused serious damage to peoples lives and put many others at risk. Cool hes sober now, celebrate it on your own. We should be celebrating those who never touched the stuff and made the choice to live a responsible life, everyone has a choice, he chose poorly.

    • @ElliottWald
      @ElliottWald  Před měsícem

      Addiction is a serious illness, much like any other chronic disease. It affects the brain and behavior, making it extremely difficult for individuals to stop using substances even when they want to. According to recent statistics, there were 290,635 adults in contact with drug and alcohol services in the UK between April 2022 and March 2023, highlighting the widespread nature of this issue
      Your comment lacks empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by those struggling with addiction. It's worth noting that over two-thirds (70%) of adults starting treatment for substance misuse also had a mental health treatment need. This underscores the complexity and the need for compassion in addressing addiction.
      If you have no interest or understanding of the topic, it raises the question of why you chose to watch or comment on this video. Celebrating someone's recovery is about acknowledging their hard work and resilience in overcoming a difficult battle. It's not about condoning past behaviors but recognizing the positive change and the effort it took to get there.
      Addiction is not a choice; it's a disease. By understanding this, we can better support those in recovery and help reduce the stigma associated with addiction.

    • @MohammedAli0306
      @MohammedAli0306 Před měsícem +1
