remember back in 2005 when this was launched with the 360 and the graphics blew our minds?
it looks like 90s cgi but in real time.
Yeah the release of the xbox 360 also remember getting call of duty 2 and the graphics were amazing ! lol
This game looked AMAZING for its time. Shaders, lighting, animation was really good for that time
Majtzy There was doom 3 and half life 2 before this game. It was initially for the gamecube start but was reported and brought back for the xbox 360 and there was huge internal dev issues. This is why the game felt outdated in comparison to other fps at the time.

not talking bout the aliens but the gameplay, its as if they havent beta tested it, its too damn hard for no reason, its not fun either, can't even connect to a flow like in other games, for example: Plasma charge the elites in Halo and headshoot them with yr magnum or rifle, its a solid gamemechanik that flows into mp, but perfect dar z... probably game was rushed for console release, sutch bad decisions

I don't know why people hate this game so much, it was not that bad, it has great things, for example, the multiplayer, the music, the secondary weapons, the cover, etc.,; it was not perfect, but it has good things, people keep hating rare and microsoft for this...

Omg, it's so weird looking at this now. It was revolutionary. Xbox 360 was one of the biggest jumps from 2d to 3d graphics we had ever seen. The jump was better than what we saw from the xbox 360 to xbox one. This game must have been like, 10 frames per second.

Wow, the tone of this game is way different from the tone of the original. The original had a much more serious and moody tone to it.

I had the first one on n64 and i have the 2nd one on xbox 360 and they are amazing games. Just waiting on a 3rd one. And yes to david clynick what amazing music you make for perfect dark

Think about it like this...this came out in 2005 for the original 360 and was ridiculous graphics... now look at Battlefield 4 for comparison, releasing with Xbox One and PS4... several years from now those graphics are going to look like this...

Not necessarily. Used to be that doubling the amount of polygons would make the model look twice as good, but now we could add 10 times more polygons and not see a different. Diminishing returns and all that. Granted, the amount of polies in a rendered model isn't the only measure of how good something looks. What will make Battlefield 4 look like this is probably going to be new animation technology, and things like subsurface scattering.

The weapon you used close to the end of the video (not the pistol), is the same sound it was in Perfect Dark's weapon, the Dragon. Pretty cool they used the original sounds from PD for PDZ. Love it.

Omg This was my first xbox 360 game i ever got and i thought the graphics were awesome as hell! The stuff nowadays pretty much blows this out of the water..... Kind of crazy how fast technology advances in a few years

For all the shit this game takes, it's surprisingly good considering it's not a corridor shooter, and you had multiple ways to complete objectives.
Now I miss it...

I went into this level for the first time guns blazing and I only ID-ed one person. Still got through without dying, granted I was on agent difficulty.
Took me a while to realize that in Dark Agent difficulty, you have no health regeneration!

I think this game wasn’t that bad. I was a kid back then so maybe I’m biased towards it and also never played the original. But it’s really not that bad. I enjoyed playing it then and I’m sure I would enjoy playing it now
I prefer using the hawk boomerang in the beginning, but the P90 is the perfect choice to kill inside the nightclub.

i use to have this game when xbox 360 came out i was addicted on graphic couldn't stop stare at everything because was so realistic i liked the game as well didn't care had bad review i enjoyed it it isn;t great game out there at least was fun and today is only 1.99 at gamestop i still feel like playing it but its only 1.99 like i can get it almost free lol i dont care what other think one reason i liked 1st mission is that dj music love that song in it couldn;t resist besides i am trance lover i am buying it its only 1.99 whatever lol

Not specifically. This game suffered due to terrible controls. Other than that it would’ve been a good game. You can’t blame Microsoft for a terrible control scheme, and even if you did, Microsoft also made Halo, which is miles above this, so I don’t think it’s a fair argument to say it’s their fault.
