If anyone's curious about the cutscene after you leave the opera, that's the start of Hitman: Contacts, the previous game. This fills in the blanks of how 47 got to where he was when that game started.

The funniest thing is that the opera staged in the mission is an actual opera where the protagonist's lover plots his fake execution and escape but the plan fails and he actually gets shot and dies in her hands in a tragic manner. Only when I found out about this I realized what a masterpiece that mission was.
dude, it gets even better when you understand that in the real opera's plot Alvaro's character really gets executed *from a real gun that was supposed to be fake*
After playing Blood Money for a while on third or second attempt I realized that the cutscene from 9:18 led to 47 getting shot and escaping to motel beginning our journey in Hitman Contracts where timeline was set in the past, Hitman's flashbacks that is and the final mission seemed to be a bridge between Contracts and the next mission in BM following Curtains Down. That's twisted just like Terminator's universe not gonna lie.
I'd never considered that you could fire the real WW1 pistol at the same time as the actor using the fake one. I always waited for them to come back to their dressing, wait for them to pop to the toilet and then switch the guns. It's only in seeing this that I realise, that's a hell of a lot of waiting.
It is but i always did it though i really truly went hitman mode, it didn't bother me to wait. At the end they'd both die while i watched from front row seats lol. I love this game to heart..
The gun swapping method has a major disadvantage that it usually leaves you with one or two witnesses because the patrolling blue-clothed worker and the bodyguard on the chair will usually spot you getting out from the executioner's room

That's the corrupt French chief of police, Fournier (who shoots 47 and is the final target in HM Contracts) he knows who 47 is because the franchise in this game revealed him to them. HM Contracts story takes place after this mission so in reality 47 spends the night wounded in a hotel.

It's just a mechanic in the game, but I always thought too that they could have made a way to pick up clothes from the ground and hiding somewhere and in case you didn't, it could raise suspicious on the npcs.
This mission is actually based on the play Tosca that the actors are performing. In the play the protagonist thinks he's being shot by a fake gun but it's revealed at the very end he was actually shot by a real gun.
How I do it, and didn't even know it was possible until recently... Bring with you the sniper rifle, and try and have the best attachments you can for silent and swift kills and a good scope. Carry the briefcase with you at all times. Also try to have the better detonator, but the original one might work, but I have not tested this. -Disguise as the handyman that you subdue in the bathroom, so your suit will remain in the bathroom. -Go to the area where all the rooms are for the actors, there's a hallway with an agent sitting in a chair waiting to use the restroom, there is a door to the far left that leads to an upper floor (where the ratclub is found).. There is a room with a bunch of office desk, one has a keycard to the projector room. -Plant a bomb in the usual spot, where the chandelier will fall. You can do this before you get the keycard if you want. *Optional: Go back and get your suit now, or you can do it once the job is done. -Go to the third floor of the outer area, if you don't know what I mean it is the areas where all the people are walking around, there is a staircase to the right of where the CIA guys are guarding one of the targets, follow it and you should reach the third floor and there are usually tourist here getting a tour of the third floor. Sneak into the projector room, which is what the keycard was needed for. -Unpack suitcase, and wait for the right moment (when the actor raises his gun and shoots the target) to fire your sniper. -Then, the other target will rush down to the main floor, trip, and you will detonate the bomb when he trips. -Put your rifle back into the suitcase and leave. It should work and you'll get the Silent Assassin rating. This is also possible to do without changing disguise but is very difficult.
Hell of a lot cooler than what I did. I walked to the highest floor, sedated both guards, suited as one, walked into the box, sniped the targets and left unnoticed. Took about 3 minutes total.
I replaced the WW1 gun, took a sniper rifle, went to a vantage point and synchronised the two kills. Took 30 or so mins of screwing around but worth it

aaah the memories!! If I remember corectly, you can go to the room where the actor that does the shooting gets prepared and switch the fake gun with the real one.Then just shoots him for you :D
Nice walkthrough, although I like keeping KOs to a minimum: I grabbed the worker clothes from the dressing room (the same that you went to check the ladies, but for men). That way no innocent people gets involved.
When I was young I use to love this game because you really had to use your imagination that was the fun part, it felt like it was a million ways to beat a stage 🙏🏾 now that I'm older I can't play this game no more it's not fun anymore
How I did the mission: I walked through with the rifle case and walked to the second floor. I took out the guard at the end of the hall and hid his body before another guard patrols in my area. I stayed perched on the balcony overlooking the stage and the ambassador's V.I.P. box. Once the show started, I waited until the gun shot. Note I didn't replace the gun. I just took the rifle, aimed and at the moment the shot was heard from the prop gun, I fired one bullet in the target. His death wasn't immediately noticed and this gave me time to take out the ambassador. I then casually walked out as everyone else was trying to find the shooter. I was long gone already though.
It always fascinated me how Blood Money and Contracts are cleverly interwoven in places. Like how 9:12 ties into this bit czcams.com/video/Ca2193gXl7k/video.html Always thought it was another bald lower numbered clone who shot him, but I think it was one of those albino clones, Parchezzi or Paraya, or whatever they're called.
I did this mission in a different way: I changed the fake pistol with the real one and then I waited for the big bang. Oh and I was enjoying the show from a higher place. But I don't remmember what rank I got, This was a long time ago. :D

I did exactly this? But I counted the sedation as a close combat kill? And I I ended with hitman rating? I only need the 5 proffessional SA ratings and I have my 3rd hitman platinum. Just started my proffessional playthrough So far I SA ranked a vintage year, does anyone recommend the next 4 easiest to SA? I'm gonna replay this level and then I will only need 3 more. It worked second time, maybe I poisoned the handy man instead of sedate.. but I 100% remember him snoring lol.
Just finished the mission, had silent assassin despite 1 body found and missing the second guy chandellier kill. I just blew up chandrllier later, guards were running towards it, I killed the second guy with silenced gun from above, mission accomplised with silent assassin rank.
this mission was very fun, the way i did it was by switching the guns then by planting a toolbox with a box above the 2nd target and when the actor got shot i used the detonator and killed 2 targets at the same time (i discovered that bombs go through walls accidentally after trying to blow up the keycard door and having it kill the ponytail guy)
Isn't it easier to switch the prop for the real gun? That way no need to worry about the timing on shooting him. That way, I just wait by the second floor balcony overlooking the main floor. So when Delahunt is hauling ass and trips, I drop the chandelier on him and I can smoothly just pick up my suit and walk out. Somehow though doing that, there was a "witness" and instead I got Professional instead of SA one time.
That's exactly the same problem I'm having. I'm playing the HD PS3 version, and use the exact same method from the PS2 version. That "phantom witness" fucks up my SA rating every single time. I'm doing everything perfectly, and yet every time the actor shoots the guy, I get a witness. Is this a bug or something? iasudfhjnsdigk
Thankfully I managed to do it again, but I just almost booked it out as fast as I could. I'm thinking the witness thing counted if they saw the bodyguard under the chandelier dead or something. Usually the game splits the screen and shows you when someone has seen a dead body, so I'm thinking that's what happened.
I played through it again using the light room sniper method and got SA! :) I shot D'Alvade with the sniper and then blew the chandelier when Delahunt tripped. Worked like a charm lol
when i was in the "you better watch out...." episode when i went to the bar. they start looking at me suspiciously and then they start shooting at me and i realized that my "Notifeiry" something? have been reached to 60 and that's why i started over again ^_^
I switched the prop gun for the real one in the other actor's room and then enjoyed the whole show from that gap right below the place you put the mine on. But as I was heading to the exit (I was close to the place from where you get the real gun and running), they somehow discovered me and started shooting me even though BOTH deaths were "accidents". Fucking AI, man...
So you didn't swap the fake gun for the real one when the executioner goes to the bathroom. Instead, you shot Alvaro yourself during the execution scene. I've never thought of this method. Thanks!

The first time I did this I snuck into the balcony knock out a guard stole his rifle shot the target on stage Joined the running crowd shot the second as his detail was securing him then ran to the door

I have a VERY fast method, i couldn't make to be SA but it's professional, and it takes 2 minutes total. It implies not one explosion, but TWO. It's a cool method, sadly it's not valid for speedruns.
I have some problems. I complete 5 missions on pro where i kill only use accidents and have perfect statistic, but game give me only professional. And then i complete mission where i kill Vinni with garrota and game give me silent assasin. Why?
I'm going through trying to beat your time for every mission on Pro while still getting SA. I got 5:57 with this strategy, only 2 seconds quicker. If you hadn't got confused at 5:10, I wouldn't have beaten the time. Awesome videos nevertheless.

My Favorite Hitman Mission of all time Hands down. Theres nothing like killing a man by switching the prop gun with a real one.

This method is the quickest way. The other way is more elaborate but fun. I really feel like I'm in a movie when I play these games.

There are 2 places you can place mines and drop 2 different objects. One to kill the opera singer and one to kill the guy in the blue suit.
I just came back here to check if I recall correctly after all these years. From the second dialogue afterwards the NPC has a different voice 🤣

İ ever play the game without Retrieve the Suit of Hitman. But the rank still Silent Assasin unless if 47 killed a victim.

I have a VERY fast method, i couldn't make to be SA but it's professional, and it takes 2 minutes total. It implies not one explosion, but TWO. It's a cool method, sadly it's not valid for speedruns.
I was watching the video on pause , I paused it jus to fall off the cat walk and die
I have some problems. I complete 5 missions on pro where i kill only use accidents and have perfect statistic, but game give me only professional. And then i complete mission where i kill Vinni with garrota and game give me silent assasin. Why?

I'm going through trying to beat your time for every mission on Pro while still getting SA. I got 5:57 with this strategy, only 2 seconds quicker. If you hadn't got confused at 5:10, I wouldn't have beaten the time. Awesome videos nevertheless.

In my game there are no hints no sound no dialogues that's why I came here to get clue what actually we have to do
