- Charles Dowding has brought no dig popular to the mainstream gardening world, engaging with millions of readers and viewers. His growing methods are applicable for small areas and large ones, and are used worldwide. He currently grows vegetables on 0.35 acres in Somerset, SW England, for local consumption, but since 1982 he has created and cropped four no dig market gardens in a wide variety of growing conditions. He has written 14 books, runs a widely popular CZcams channel and Instagram account, writes for gardening magazines, and gives talks plus courses at home and abroad. I have watched every video Charles has on his channels (it's a LOT of videos haha). Even if it's not something that interests me for whatever reason, I still watch them because 1) he is so soothing to listen to and 2) you never know when he's going to drop a great tip.

Great discussion guys! I especially liked your gut talk at the end. I eat meat/fish/chicken along with a ton of vegies many that I grow myself. Lately I've been fermenting a lot from my garden and really enjoying it. Fermenting gives you that extra boost of nutrients and healthy bacteria for your gut. Also, I don't hunt but I began purchasing all my meats from a grass fed organic farm recommended by Dr Eric Berg and although more pricey it's high quality nutritious meat and free of any pharmaceutical products which gives me piece of mine.
@The Beet,It's like Charles is saying,he wouldn't coin the phraise-"Thy Shall Not Dig" alongside Gandarf's "You Shall Not Pass",ha?. Charles is the head Wizard in the Garden world.

QUESTION about weeds: what about nutsedge, it is very vigorous and nothing seems to work except digging up the entire bed and sifting the soil to get rid of rhizomes and nuts. But honestly I don’t even know if it will work because we aren’t digging up pathways (which have nutsedge) and they are so vigorous. Do you think no dig will help??
