My alignment looked okay, but it took excessive force to close the frunk - always flexing the metal no matter how careful or what hand positions. After seeing this, I adjusted both corner stops in and problem solved! Still good alignment, but normal pressure to latch. Many thanks!! 👍👍
Useful tip, thanks. I’ve been on the fence about ordering a Model 3 here in the UK and you’ve finally convinced me after watching many channels, so I’ve used your referral code. Interesting Tesla have changed the ordering to standard range and performance only now, no long range. So I’ve gone for the performance, which is cheaper than it was a week ago. Those same adjusters are on each side of the trunk. After getting my M3D, I spoke with a Tesla tech who explained the adjusters to me.

I feel like my driver side doors are not aligned the best, but I'm unsure... So I never asked about it. Beyond that, nothing I've noticed.

Since we took delivery of our 2020 model a month ago I've been looking at the frunk and thinking that it looked too high, but decided to live with it. It was also almost impossible to close - I spent nearly an hour trying different techniques and gave up. I haven't opened it for three weeks!
Having watched your video I checked and found both adjusters were all the way out. I screwed both all the way in and alignment is now perfect and it's a doddle to close.

Thanks for the video and this comment! I just got my 2020 a month ago as well. And today when I went to go move my car I noticed it. Not sure if it was the lighting but it seemed very prominent. I’m gonna try this as soon as I get home!

I visited Tesla service to adjust the hood. They fixed one issue, but made another. My right side is much lower than left side. I'm going the check if I can do the same adjustment on the hood of my MY once my wife get home. Thanks for the video!
I think the problem is the bumper. If you look at the right side it seems is not aligned, is like drop down compared with the left.
Excellent video as always! Great to get a perspective of a Tesla owner in a cold climate and crappy roads like it is here in Michigan. Any issues with ordering/taking delivery in another state? I've read some stories of issues, but i figured it was mostly not true.
I wouldn't discount the stories you've heard. A lot of people had a really bad delivery experience. My delivery was easy tho. I picked up an inventory vehicle.

Of course it'd be best to be perfect from factory, but having this option so easily available is pretty cool!
Idea: I would love to see some more tests as far as conditions that effect your range. Such as windows up or down, extra weight in the car, autopilot on or off. See what, if anything has a dramatic effect on the range and usage. Doesn't have to be long distance just enough to collect some good data. Great tip tho, I never heard those were adjustable.

Hi, after you fitted the Hannshow automatic frunk open/close kit, did you have the same problem? I do after fitting the kit and think I’ll need to adjust the frunk latch down slightly, then adjust those feet you mention. Fingers crossed it works...
No I didn't need to adjust the frunk hood.
Is the drunk still waterproof at speed in the rain? I hope the seal self adjust enough to compensate for the seal not being as compressed.
I can update you, but chat said it's perfectly fine to adjust these feet, so I'd assume it's good.
You need to lower the latch mechanism slightly, then run the passenger side adjuster back up to make the hood flush. That should bring the driver's side down enough.
I think I need to do the same with my car. I couldn’t find out how to lower the latch. Do you have any resources you can recommend for that?
I used electrical tape so that those knobs don't move around. Also teflon tape works as well
I had that issue on my first Model 3 (2018) and I had Tesla come out with Mobile Service to check it out. They told me to even it out fully, just remove them. On my Model 3 Performance (2019) those rubber things are not even there anymore.

@@DirtyTesla If you take a look at the 2017 and 2018 Model 3 and then look at 2019 they fixed a lot of issues. Not just the rubber stuff, but fixing the gaps in the back trunk, the gaps on the doors. I noticed that they fixed the audio system to be even better. The Model 3 LR already had a really good audio system, and in the 2019 version, they worked on it more and made it a lot better.

I've never seen those adjusters on other vehicles. Is there some reason it's built the way it is?
My only guess is it gives tesla an easy way to adjust the vehicles as they're produced
I almost was going to say what someone else said about a couple hours after I commented... that the hood might be slightly twisted. Unless you were in a minor accident, the only other thing I can think of is that it'd be how it was built. But then just as someone else mentioned, the possibility of the adjusters not really being meant to be adjusted. Maybe they're meant to be bumpers or stoppers. But as you replied to that person, they do seem to be meant to be adjustable. Were they both screwed all the way in before you recorded this video? I'm not trying to say you're wrong. This just seems like something that maybe can be figured out with some discussion. It doesn't seem like something worth bothering Tesla about, but if it gets worse it might be a good idea. I definitely believe there's good reason for such a video as this.

But no they were at different levels before I started messing with them.
@BrianJoslyn ... Actually, I think similar hood adjusters are common to other cars. I have a 2009 Jeep Patriot and it has plastic screw adjusters, one on each front corner. The adjusters are screwed into mounting points in the front of the engine bay while the stops are pressed into the underside of the hood.
My Nissan Leaf is in the shop so I can't check it, but I have a 2019 Nissan Kicks as a loaner and it too has plastic adjusters. In the past, many of the cars I have owned used hard rubber adjusters of various designs. They were all there to accomplish the same thing.

I've come to realize that a lot of these neat things I'm noticing on my Tesla are available on other cars, I've just never cared about another car enough to notice.

Hi! We took delivery of our M3 yesterday, and all the gaps look pretty even except for the trunk. It might be normal, but I’ve let Tesla know just in case.

Not convinced those rubber thingy are adjustable, maybe you just made them untightened.
They are definitely threaded to be able to be screwed in more or less. I'll check the manual. I think they are adjustable.
I contacted support via chat and they said that it is perfectly fine to adjust these rubber feet. Nothing in the manual tho.
How to improve the panel gap: do not sign off on a car with the penel gap when they deliver your Tesla
Uncomplete... this does not fix the centering which the most visible defect!
You might want to hide your address on your Tesla app. You are showing the world your home address.
