To be fair, there is a big difference between playing good defense, and making defensive plays. I'm not saying the defense was necessarily bad, because it wasn't, but turnovers and defensive scores doesn't necessarily mean good defense. Defense's primary goal is to stop scoring, not make plays. Usually defensive plays results from good defense, but not always, case in point, Super Bowl VII

I'd say this game is probably one of the best regular season games I've seen in a long time. Both teams were 9-1 and they played like it was a Superbowl game.

My three son's and I drove to this game Monday morning and drove back the same night, since the tickets were cheap.
Game was moved from Mexico City to LA due to field conditions. Even though our Chiefs lost, it was a great experience.
Awesome game, and an awesome experience with my boys. I will always remember it. I love my family and the CHIEFS!

The 2018 season the Rams would go 13-3
Bill Belichick stopped their offensive scheme by using 6-2 on the defensive line and cover 3 which stopped the rams run game and play action pass game with one play. The rams did 12 personnel 90% of the time which lead the nfl by a significant margin. By doing this the defensive had no way of knowing if they were going to run the ball or do a play action pass. If they played zone the rams would run the ball for a 15 yard gain. If they played say a 5-2 front the rams would throw the ball for an easy completion. After the Super Bowl teams saw what Belichick did and used the same play he did against the rams in the 2019 season and ofc it worked. That’s why the rams are a shell of what they used to be. The rams coach is a genius but so is Belichick.

Watching this game again nearly 3 years on, this is easily the greatest NFL game ever. Both teams should've been awarded a win for this one, as this was a literal thriller. We had just about everything in this game; forced fumbles, pick 6s, missed extra points. And even after all of that the Chiefs still had a decent chance at winning, or even better yet, sending this one to overtime. Massive respect from both teams. Football certainly was the winner on this day

Its crazy that Mahomes had gone from having two attempts to hit a single field goal to win, with over a minute on the clock for one of them and got picked off both times, to driving his team down the field in less than 13 seconds, in the divisional round, against the #1 rated defense in the NFL that season. It really shows how far he has come, even if it hasn't been as noticeable.

Or it could be the defenses. I feel like this rams defense really held it down at the end of the game with 2 defensive stops. The bills defense while it was good the entire year those 13 seconds were their worst all year.

Very very tough to argue against this being the greatest regular season game of all time. I was there, absolutely insane. Had a great time with the Chiefs fan next to me, started off with buying each other a beer when our team took the lead, after a while think we realized how special it was, we were high diving and hugging no matter who scored!
If this game was the Super Bowl, it would have totally been the greatest Super Bowl ever play!

It’s very rare to get a game like this in the Super Bowl. The pressure is way to high so you start seeing more dropped passes and coaches being more conservative.

Hella excited for the Chiefs-Lions 2023 season opener! This game was the first thing I thought of when I saw Goff vs Mahomes again. Goff gets way too much flak; dude is a gamer and easily top-12 QB. What a game, this is when you knew Mahomes is gonna be a terror...he has def evolved from a deep-ball cannon monster to a do-it-all field general, which is why he's seriously threatening TB12 GOAT status. Hope Goff has an epic season too, gotta love the comeback story -- can only hope the season opener lives up to this!

My girl was pregnant and finally reached the point where she could have an epidural inserted around the time this game started. She was so tired that she fell asleep right away and I quickly flipped on the hospital room TV to watch it. I had to try really hard to stay quiet but the hype of this game had me jumping up and down like an idiot in a quiet hospital room. Mahomes was my fantasy team QB so I was a little more invested then usual. I woke up the next morning and was there to meet my baby girl when she arrived. This game was the perfect distraction from all the worry and anxiety that ended up leading to a C section. Thankfully they were both happy and healthy when it was all said and done and this game will always remind me of giving my daughter her first bath that next morning.

Heading into this game, I was down by 30 points in fantasy. My opponent still had Robert Woods left and I still had Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks and Travis Kelce. Ended up making a huge comeback and won by one point. This game was more entertaining for me than Super Bowl XLV when my Packers beat the Steelers

The best part of this was the game got moved from Mexico to LA over the weekend so the tickets were dirt cheap. Whoever was at this game caught the greatest game for like 1/3 of the price.

the key here is all 4 teams have mediocre defenses with a few star players that will make plays (PIT: TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, and Joe Haden, KC: Justin Houston and Eric Berry, LA: Aaron Donald, Marcus Peters, and Sam Shields, NOLA: Marshon Lattimore and Sheldon Rankins) I say it plays out very similar to last year's Super Bowl

I am so grateful to be alive today. My girlfriend saved my life last night. This is a selfie I took in the emergency room after having a severe allergic reaction to almonds. I went into anaphylaxis, meaning my face, my lips, my eyes, my tongue, and my throat all started swelling up rapidly, making it almost impossible for me to breathe. I also had a rash all over my entire body, and I was extremely red. Staying alive had never felt more difficult. At one point, my nasal passage was completely blocked, and it was getting more and more difficult to breathe. They shot me up with Benadryl, steroids, they gave me a breathing tube, and even other stuff that I can’t even remember, and it caused all of the swelling and the rash to go away. Because this was a severe allergic reaction, I need to continue taking steroids and Benadryl for the next week, because it is possible that the allergic reactions could come back at any point over the next week. The steroids and Benadryl make me feel like a zombie, and I really want to take care of my health, so this will be my main focus over the next week. I want to thank my amazing girlfriend, who made the decision to take me to the emergency room the second I started feeling itchy. I was hesitant about going, because I didn’t even want to believe this was actually happening. If it weren’t for my girlfriend driving me to the emergency room only minutes after eating the almonds, there is a good chance that I wouldn’t have made it according to the doctor. This has been without a doubt the hardest few days of my life, but I also look at them as the most important few days of my life. These moments have reminded me about what’s really important in life, and it has made me so grateful to even be here on this earth. I will be prioritizing my health over the next week, and I’ll post updates about how I feel. Thank you all for being patient during these difficult times. This week has been NUTS (too soon for jokes? 😅)
I got married on this exact day. I would go back and forth from the reception to bar all night and catch pieces of this game. My dad was at the bar watching the whole thing. Now it's tradition that I make my wife watch these highlights with me on every anniversary.

It was a great, entertaining game between two of the top 3 teams in the league...doesn't mean it's one of the greatest games ever played. But well, the casual football fan thinks the more points, the better the game. Great game, not one of the greatest ever...not by a longshot.

This gotta be a top 5 nfl game of all time. Nonstop scoring. A DE had 2 TDs and a pick 6. 2 missed extra points. The MVP dropping bombs on what we thought was the rebirth of the greatest show on turf. The greatest defensive player since LT getting to the QB. What more could you ask for?

I’d argue both QBs are not FUTURE greats but greats in the present day. Also have to credit McVay and Reid, two of the top minds in the game continuing to innovate each game. As a coach myself, they are joys to watch on the sideline

@@kevinpayton2664 Well when you consider there were 3 defensive TD's in the game, that's 21 extra points the offenses didn't account for. If not for those it probably would have been more along the lines of 40-37.
