    One of the best videos I've ever seen about learning foreign languages, and I've seen a lot of videos throughout the years.

    My highschool uses SMART too, I use it to set goals for myself. I am also going to do that for my French too!

    I am learning Irish Gaeilge for fun and I am learning French at school. My goal for this year is to stick to my Gaeilge studies on duolingo.

    We have a lot in common (: I am also a last-year university student that studies languages and makes videos about them! I also have no idea what I'm doing after I graduate, but I'd like to do something with languages. Before coming up with goals, I'm going to see how busy my semester looks so I can plan accordingly. I take Spanish and French classes, but I'd like to focus on going over certain tenses in Portuguese and studying more Korean

      Thanks for commenting, I watched one of your videos - your French accent is great! How did you find living in Nantes? there is a small possibility I may end up moving there after graduation ^_^ Good luck!

      Aurella Thank you!! (: Personally, I loved Nantes! I blogged about my favorite places while I was there (as well as made some vlogs in Nantes), if you're interested in learning more. I'd love to answer any questions you have, so don't hesitate to message me! I liked Nantes because it still had the perks of living in a city without it being too big. It's more expensive if you plan on traveling a lot because Nantes is more out of the way, but there's an airport and a train station. If you like smaller cities, this place is for you! (:

    Great video as always !
    I like the idea of describing a word, as your using more vocabulary to find that specific word. Therefore continuing the conversation. what language will be next?
    maybe polish? lol its hard. But there's nice weather in the summer and it's very cheap . plus there's a growing demand of vegan shops and restaurants 😁

    • @FollowMyFrench
      @FollowMyFrench  Před 7 lety +2

      Yes it makes the conversation more fluid. Aside, when I took French lessons in the summer the teacher would often have us stop mid sentence and come up with alternative words we could have used, and then also list the opposites of those words. It was a quick way to build up vocab.
      Haha you'll see when the video goes up ;)

    Aurella, talking about goals... would you like to learn another language?
    My SMART goal for this year is to learn spanish.. I am currently on A2 level, let's see if I can achieve B2 by the end of the year!!
    I am planning to learn French someday, but I don't know if it is doable to learn two languages simultaneously..

    Hello, first off I wan tot say I love your videos. I was wondering if you knew of any good Language immersion programs for someone who isn't going to college?

    • @FollowMyFrench
      @FollowMyFrench  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Tevin! Thank you! I'm sorry I don't know any language immersion programs for non-college students (or college students for that matter!) but I am sure that they will exist in France, though you may have to pay a lot. Staying with a host family is certainly a possibility too, but again you'll need to find a suitable website. Often language learning schools will offer accommodation with host families for the duration of the course, so you could take classes during the day but have immersion in the evenings.
      Sorry I couldn't help more but perhaps someone else will see this comment and be able to suggest something!

      For phone you can use:
      -Duolingo***
      -Memrise***
      -Quizlet (to help the pronunciation and to help you memorize the words)
      -FluentU
      -Babbel
      -HiNative (here you can speak with native language speakers)
      -Busuu**

    Hi. It's one year later, how did you do?

  • @Tina-td3so
    @Tina-td3so Před 7 lety +1

    I did French for 5 years in secondary and only now have I made a commitment to learning the language (in first year of uni). I'm using duolingo right now but don't know if I should use babbel😩 do you study French in uni btw?

    • @FollowMyFrench
      @FollowMyFrench  Před 7 lety +1

      If you're looking to just get a taste for the language, perhaps to prove you can stay committed etc, then Duolingo is a great idea. Though if you want to learn things (including speaking and listening) thoroughly and properly I would reccomend Babbel, and complete the courses from the beginners level to be sure you didn't miss any of the 'basic' stuff.
      No I'm not studying French at uni, I'm self-taught apart from a 4 week course last summer.
      Thanks for your comment :)
