I wouldn't say equal, he was using a lot lower-level spells... but he was being VERY clever. Countered a lot of her magic with much "cheaper" spells than going for a full Counterspell (which I assume he was saving his best for the Time Stop). A great showing for Sorcerers being able to squeak more out of their magic than a Wizard!
@@Verbose_Mode Yeah, the most we've seen him cast was a 6th level spell, so he was around an 11th-12th level sorcerer. And Sofina was essentially a CR 15 Lich. So it definitely wouldn't have been on equal terms if it was just him against her.

Simon seemed like a bad sorcerer, but towards the end of the movie he became REALLY powerful. He fought a Thayan on near-equal terms.
