- This Video is an attempt to demonstrate how:
A non Go-To Telescope can be converted into a Push-To telescope.
I personally have struggled a lot in finding the deep sky object and earlier used
Compass app + Digital protector for Alt Az coordinate system before i made this PushTo system (video Link below)

You're my new hero. I've been trying this off and on for awhile now. My old phone had the compass and magnometer and accelerometer. My new one doesn't.
I just ordered a new Nexus 7 tablet and it arrives tomorrow. It has all the required sensors too.
Next I will download SkEYE or Stellarium and then use my tablet to find what I want.
I will have to mount it properly of course but I should be able to figure it out.
Awesome video.
Thanks, I am glad you liked the video.
Just ensure your adaptors to mount nexux7 has more aluminium and plastic for Magnetometer to work properly.

Clear skies
In theory and in some scenarios this approach works ok but there are caveats with the greatest being the strong magnetic influence of the OTA (optical tube assembly) which in most examples are of metal construction and therefore affect the accuracy of the compass in the smart phone which even if initially properly calibrated still goes off. But in situations where the OTA is of carbon fibre composite this setup offers a good alternative. For years I’ve been using the larger version of the Telrad which has worked well for me. Thank you
Yes magnetic interference is an issue but I guess the bracket and spacers are of aluminium reducing the impact. The contribution of OTA cannot be ignored. I have validated this in another video, capturing Venus and Saturn.
This is brilliant! Thanks for sharing, always looking for alternatives to a red dot or traditional finder scope. Nice outside-the-box thinking! 👏
Thanks, I am glad you liked it. The app also has choices of oculars like Telrad.
I had opportunity to test it yesterday, will be posting a video on the pros and cons.

Absolutely Fantastic!
You are a Genius!
Many Thanks
Thankyou I am glad you liked it
A cool trick, thanks for sharing
Glad you like it
Have to try this, thanks for the video!
Planning for clouds ☁️ to go away. Will post an update after I test it.

Good idea. I just seen a simular setup for a camera on a tripod. It was being used fir astrophotography.
Good job
Thanks
You are genious.
I am glad you liked it
Do check the actual test video of this setup
Excellent advice 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👌🏻👍🏻
Thanks I am glad. Do like share and subscribe.
Super❤️
Great
Very very nice. Congrats. I guess the aluminum scope would not interfere magnetically.
Yes Al won’t interfere, was thinking to get it 3D printed of plastic.
Can you list out the items that need for this setup, thanks and appreciate
You can find them in the video description

How to align on the stellarium app?
Please watch the other video of field test, I have explained how to align the centre’s
The link shared for mobile mount is different from the one showed in this video,Could you please point us to the right one ?
It is same product, only the mobile holder is used in this case, when I want to mount my mobile on telescope for eyepiece projection photography, then I use the whole assembly as seen on Amazon.
What telescope do u suggest for beginners...around 10k..??
Celeste on starsense or GSO 6”DOB
Idea is great, but I am pretty sure it is not precise enough to find Jupiter, otherwise you would have demonstrated it outside
Yes I received this comment earlier and made a field test on it. Video link below:

The tric is not to use any ferrous parts to through the magnetic sensor out of calibration
@Mrigakshi roy Cool. I was wrong then.
should you not be aware of magnetic metals near the smartphone. Also a recalibration of the smartphone may be needed (moving it aroun all axes)
You are right, I validated it in this video.
