    Absolutely love your videos and I'm a fan! I use Stallarium to plan my nights using a Nexstar 8se all the time. Very useful to know what deep sky objects are located in the sky despite the telescope having 40,000 objects in it's database. Very good for knowing constellations too!

    I use the Light Pollution Map all the time, but I live so close to Bortle 2 and 1 is right next door, but on a military base, but Bortle 2 is just fine. I use Stellarium all the time.

    Sky Safari 7 pro is “scary amazing “ I’m surprised you haven’t looked into that app? If you can ask someone who has it and familiar with it to show it to you please do so it goes so far beyond what one could imagine. Maybe it’s an apple app ? But let me say this … I would buy an apple product to use it you can have so much fun even without equipment during the day it’s like traveling the night sky Priceless! As usual always a pleasure to listen and watch your videos 👍

      @Mike Sannicandro I never felt the need to try it out, but now I have to give Sky Safari 7 Pro a try. Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

    Well I found out what I was doing wrong Bogdan. I was aiming too high at my objects. It's a big mirror. Tonight was very successful! Saw many DSO's. M31,M32, Vega double double. Hercules cluster. What was puzzling to me was that I pulled in Saturn w/ a 9mm lense but could not pull in Jupiter which is closer. Maybe it was too low in the sky. It was just looking like a bright star. However, overall I had wonderful time tonight. Love my Dob ! Clear skies mu friend. 🔭🌃🤗👍👋

      @George L. Correa I'm glad that you solved the problem in the end. It's true with the big 12" mirror it can be a bit tricky sometime to aim the telescope, but it get's easier with repetition. I also had a wonderful night out two days ago. I was testing a new refractor. About Jupiter, I believe that it was only an aiming error. Try it out again next time and it should work just like on Saturn. Clear skies!

    I use three of these tools, very helpful as well as your videos.
    You have mentioned the smartphone mount to use it with Stellarium App, is it like StarSense from Celestron?
    if it is similar, where I can find this kind of mount to buy it for my DOB telescope?

    • @BogdanDamian
      @BogdanDamian  Před 2 lety +1

      @Khabbab Babiker El... Yes, Stellarium is similar to the StarSense from Celestron. In my opinion it's even better because of all the other features it offers besides navigation.
      As for the mount for the telescope, there are multiple options out there. Here is an example amzn.to/3QR5SKI You then only need a normal smartphone holder to screw on the finder adapter. I hope, this helps.

    Hi Bogdan! Thank you fotr sharing your experience. One question: how do you allign your smartphone with the finder?

    • @BogdanDamian
      @BogdanDamian  Před 2 lety +1

      @Gabriel Robles Hi! You first need a smartphone adapter for your telescope so that you can attach it like a finder. You start by roughly pointing the telescope at a bright object. Then you look through the finder and try to fine tune the position so that the object is centered. Now you look through a long focal length eyepiece and make sure the object is centered there too. Telescope and finder are now aligned.
      Next you adjust the position of the smartphone in the adapter so that the object is centered on your smartphone's screen. Check all three devices, but now the finder, telescope and smartphone should point at the same object and are aligned with each other.

    I use Stellarium as well. But I can't pull the easiest objects in with the 12' Dob. I had better results with my 8" reflector back some time ago. What's going on ?

  • @georgel.correa4921

    I don't get it. I can't even line up Jupiter in front of my balcony. Nothing I try to pull in comes through the eyepiece. I'm ar a loss
