Night Lapse at Andaman & Havelock Island
This Night Lapse is made from picture taken at Andaman and Havelock Island during our vacation in Dec 2023.
It was almost Full moon, but the clear Bortle 2 sky made shooting possible.

Hello and thanks! The Bulb option doesn't work for me- it takes the photo immediately after pressing also in Timer option, can you help me find the solution?
@@g-dd-were5763 in bulb option what are you pressing that photo is taken, if you press the circular shutter button it will click immediately, if in program mode it’s taking immediately yiu can set initial delay time, so once you start the program it will take the pause set by you then will execute the program. Hope it helps
Which Camera do you have ?
Why does the background audio keep spiking in between you talking is driving me nuts
I went through my share of learning curve, my apologies for it. Hope the newer videos does not have this problem.
Great idea!
Thanks!
How to align on the stellarium app?
Please watch the other video of field test, I have explained how to align the centre’s
Hello sir, what is the size difference between north and south bearing... Is it just the segments of a cone or something else to account for?? I'm from 11.45°N latitude.
If it is just the segments of the cone... Then I have one doubt - the cone will not be tangent to the ground surface... Only the South bearing will be tangent to surface and the north bearing will be little below the plane. Is this what we have to do here? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
The Contact point of the bearings should lie on the cone. However if you break down the cone as an assembly of many thin width cylinders if increasing radius then two of those cylinders will be north and south bearings respectively.
Yes, understood... Both the bearings should be on the surface of the axis cone. But what I'm asking is... If we make the upper plate of the platform parallel to the ground, then the South bearing should be moved towards the upper plate (in 3d modelling). This will create a small gap between the South bearing and the lower plate. I want to know what should be the ratio of the distance between the two of them?
And... Anyway we are going to make the upper plate parallel to the ground, so why can't we make equal height South and North bearing (only the radius is different based on the cone).
I don't have Instagram, can you please suggest any other platform where I can contact you to elaborate my doubts. I'm a very beginner, please guide me to make my own platform.
Hello, I'm from Tamilnadu - 11.4° N, what can be the better option for me to build an eq platform for this latitude, some are saying "eq platform for this lower latitudes are very complex to make". But I'm determined and ready to learn whatever science needed to build this. Please suggest something here!! Thanks in advance 😊
Is it possible to make VNS type eq platform for this latitude?
@@ruthra14 VNS will be helpful only for high latitude as it brings down the form factor, for lower latitude Ponset is better. For lower latitude the problem is south bearing the platform becomes long . Refer my other episodes for comparison and trade off of south bearing.
Hello, Huge thanks for the clarification. Please give me some advice to build a platform on which i can shoot some astrophotos, nothing serious, some basic photos to keep it in my personal library.
In your 4th eppidi of this series you talked about two different kinds of South bearings - single spindle type and another type where the South bearing is exact same curvature as the north bearing, the only difference is the radius of the curvature. I also saw your last eppidi of this series, where you have used the single spindle type south bearing, is there any advantage or disadvantage in using either of these types? I'm living in 11.45° N latitude. Your suggestions please!
Sorry for the typo... It was "episode"!! Google keyboard auto recommendations sometimes sucks😂
Good job
Thanks
The background music is annoying.
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate
Followed your instructions and it didn’t work as yours did. 😩
I hope you put your Camera on Bulb Mode for shutter timer.
@@ASTROindi Yes, I did. I think there is a fault with the transmitter device. On “N” and the number will only increase to 7. No higher. No 199 or 8.

why is the jupiter and venus are closer to each other???
It was a conjunction
Not a bad video, but the music surging in and out from low to LOUD, and the pointless "floating hands" are very distracting.
Point taken, appreciate the constructive feedback
was it visible with the naked eye?
yes it was, its a combination of multiple factors like Visiblity, CLear weather, Light pollution, and Moon Phase. if all are taken case of you can see. But this will not be a match to wht we see in Leh or Andaman.
Exactly what I need for my homemade dob... too much on my plate at present but will get to this... soon! lol
Awesome, Happy to Help.
clear Skies
I just saw in my telescope it's moon jupiter and venus last night
Must be a thrilling experience. Wish you clear skies

Amazing..

Very nice video. Bortle 1 is found near Kutch, higher Himachal (Spiti) and Hanle. South india best has Bortle 2 near Talacauvery. I am an amateur visual astronomer planning to go here. Please do join Bangalore Astronomical Society if you are already not a member. Its an active group on astrophotography and visual astronomy and many other things. We hold star party near Talacauvery around new moon from December to March.
Thanks please share the link. Recently I went to Andaman, on my way to Baratang, i stopped at a place and I was blown away to see the amount of stars. I wish to go there during milkyway core season. At the moment I am not super active due to my MBA, will get back on full speed after Jan 25. Do share the 🔗 to Bangalore Astronomical society.
Wow..
Thanks
You are genious.
I am glad you liked it
Do check the actual test video of this setup
Hw to give background music?
Music is from epidemic sound and edited on Filmora
Nice
Thanks
Thanks for discovering this bhai..i am traveling to dark sky location next month so was looking for a power source..and then i remembered that i had seen this on your channel!
Happy to help. Clear skies
Amazing
Its was even better at Baratang , only if we could stop there
Bro from which retailer you purchased this? Or imported?
My Nephew brought it from US.
@@ASTROindioh ok..btw i also bought my gt81 last month after watching your review. Great quality scope! now i am learning all about imaging. Hows your imaging going this season? No new videos?
@@kartik-422 my apologies for no videos. Firstly in bangalore there is hardly clear skies now a days, and secondly I am too much occupied with my MBA, another year. From 2025 will go full swing.
did you have any problem with sub up to now?
Absolutely no, works like a charm for use up to 12 h per week.
I have had my eye on this for some time. Looks really great as an upgrade from my table top newton. My main concern is storing it. It looks BIG!
Yes 8" and above take 1.4m by 0.5 X 0.5 m envelop. also setting it up, but this gives the best bang for buck.
@@ASTROindi Wow, that is a lot. But it is THE recommended telescope size across the board. Thanks for this info and for doing this video. Much appreciated 🙏🏻

Can you list out the items that need for this setup, thanks and appreciate
You can find them in the video description
I am getting one in spring.
Awesome you will fall in love with it. Clear skies 🌌
Background music should be one vol level - it's so annoying
On the learning curve, hope you will find the newer ones to be OK.
Beautiful 😍
I love India ❤😊
I only can set my unit from 1 to 7 n shoots. doesn´t appers 199 or - - . It´s a defective unit, right?
most likely yes, if you have followedup all setting instructions correctly.
I enjoyed the serious. I have built my own platform several years ago, and it has evolved similar to yours. I use an arduino mega, and a stepper motor each for RA and Dec (not a true declination though). I found that the accuracy of the mechanics and the pulse signal are very important for astrophotography. The rate changes due to the linear drive. I set the rate for the midpoint of the range and find that the difference allows exposures up to 30s without a problem. My biggest problem is very short periodic variations due even the slightest irregularities.
I am glad, Yes i agree making things of wood has its limitations, i am working on a metal version, which has taken a backseat due to my MBA, once i finish it, will get back to an improved Metal EQ platform and have plans to incorporate the RA and Dec corrections for autoguiding. Lets see. Lets stay connected. Cheers and Clear Skies.
Hello sir I'm planning to buy cgem 70 , it's worth to purchase? And any issue?
I have seen many people say it gives 0.3 rms of auto guiding accuracy, but at same time it’s a mount that is super heavy and also needs very heavy pier. If you are planing to put at a place and not moving it more often then go for it. However if you are anyway going to league of heavy mounts check other offering.
Thank you sir for your reply. Helpful for me
Gonna shoot shortly
Awesome

Hi. When you are using this device's intervalometer function and the camera is in autofocus mode will it refocus before each shot or it will focus just once before the whole interval shooting and will use that focus point throughout the whole process? Thanks
while in Autofocus, it will refocus and start but the time to refocus will not be compensated in any form. for timelapse, and astro better to use manual focus
@@ASTROindi thanks. What does it mean that the time will not be compensated in any form?
@@karsayk for example the shutter duration set is 10 sec, the camera takes 1 s to focus then your actual exposure will be 10-1=9 sec
@@ASTROindi I see. Thanks. It's no problem for me. I would like to take interval photos in daylight but the model will move in front of the camera this is why the camera need to refocus before each shot.
Newer variants of camera like Canon EOS R6 has inbuilt intervalometer, worth checking if you own such a model.
