#RTX #SFF #etaprime - Hry
I just put together this EXACT setup because of this video, been watching you for a long time and love your SFF builds/setups and I found good deals on everything and I couldn't be happier
Idk, why I never noticed I was not subscribed to you lol, but i have been watching your videos since like around 2 years ago!!!
You gave me the courage to go and build my own SFF PC, had to use a lot of custom parts and other hard to find parts, but that build was finished over a year but even to this day I keep modifying it bit by bit and may have finally completed it like 2 weeks ago!
Keep up the the great work!!!
Another great video. Great job as always! I used a similar set up in my arcade cabinet last year and will definitely use this one for my next build.
I did this exact same build after I saw your Dell Optiplex build with the same GPU. I wanted that full PCIe3 connection. But went with the Elite Desk 800 G4, i7-8700. I can play anything on my 32” monitor with 1440 settings with some very minor setting changes. Supper happy with my build. Added new thermal paste like you, added a second matched 16GB DIMM and a 1TB NVMe drive. My A2000 was a score as it was brand new with the LP bracket included. Thanks for the ideas! My total with tower, RAM and card was $575
In addition, a very good thing about your budget business-based PC is that your CPU IS MEETING the minimum CPU requirements for Windows 11, so you'll won't need to stay with Windows 10 that's now already entering its sunset lifecycle (and is no longer receiving feature updates). On other side, on Linux the hardware compatibility is still very varying! For example, on some PC / laptop configurations, on some specific Linux distros might has something that's not possible to get in working state at all, or are completely failing to install, but at same time, some other distros on that same laptop or PC configuration are working perfectly fine. Unfortunately, running Linux as average is still, like hit and miss.
same, but with i5 8500. My total was $432 (including the tax!). But i had to sell it cause im irresponsible with money
@@theinktician Hopefully you sold it for at least break-even. Gotta work on that money thing. It can turn into an unmanageable monster if you don’t get that lesson under your belt.
Love,
Dad 😂
Dude, I know I am late but way congrats on 1 million subs, you deserve wayyyyyy more, you the man.
I score an amd variant ryzen 3 2200g with 8g of ram for $10 🙂 at the swap meet, I give it a good cleaning, new paste and added another stick of 8g of ram for $12. I am sure my 12 year old son would love it,is birthday coming soon 🙂.
I'm using a Dell 7040 SFF with an RX550. I've got maybe $150 in this set-up total with a wireless adapter. It plays older games just fine, which is what I am into anyway. :)
and if you set your expectations accordingly you can play new games just fine.
@@David_Quinn_Photography depends on which new games.
Hey, twinsies - I have a 7040 mid tower with an rx 550. I know the i5 6500 is an older quad core but I can't believe these systems are priced the way some of them are. I picked up the PC for $44 shipped and it came with 8gb of ram and a 500gb hard drive.
@@fukov3400 the systems are still good too. You could swap that i5 for a 6700/7700 to allow you to get a better gpu continue gaming. £44 is definitely a steel.
I like what you’re doing here, Keep up with the good work 👏
Congratulations for the million subscribers. You deserve it.
Agreed one of the best Tech channels on CZcams
100%. Been watching this guy since...2019 I wanna say? Watching his phone emulation reviews, forever wanting a phone that could play Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Twilight Princess.
His editing still sucks though
@@drags666 seems fine to me.
People always gotta hate 😏 I personally love the simplicity in presentation of this channel
Congrats on a million! I have been following you for years now. You earned it. Also I hear your poor allergies 😅
Been watching your videos for a long while now love the content
Another great video, and these desktops are very close to what I'm looking for! Would really like to find a good deal on a similar SFF with Core 8xxx, Ryzen 2xxx, or newer in order to have Win11 support though
With a riser and bit of tinkering you could try using a full height card or in some odd cases an MXM card via PCIe adapter. Also there is a lot of mini ITX or mATX small form factor cases where the GPU is handled through riser so the case height can be reduced without forcing the system to low profile GPUs.
Finally. An OEM SFF video in my youTube feed that isn't yet another optiplex.
I would definitely recommend a budget OEM system like this. Unfortunately in my region (The Netherlands) there haven't been any cheap prices for the RTX A2000.
Yygyyyyyyy y to yytyyy
😢😢😢😢
I’ve got the same problem here, in France
Price went up in the begin of spring mostly because, CZcamsrs give hype for this card, I found one last month, the price deflated a bit…
Paid 250€
@@Cactus.ScovilleSeems like you got lucky. It seems like I'll have to resort to the used/ 2nd hand market to get a good deal on the RTX A2000.
Watching this video on that exact machine. Can't beat it for the price.
I just bought one refurbished, never really gamed on pc so figured this was the perfect build to start me off.
My specs are:
HP Elitedesk 800 G3
Intel QUAD Core i7 7700 3.6Ghz
32GB DDR 4 RAM
256GB SSD HDD + 1TB SATA HDD
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 8GB
And it only cost $650 AUD or $430 USD.
Waiting on it to arrive, can't wait!
Appreciate the video man very informative 🙏
Love the channel! What was the total cost of this rig and would you consider doing a video for a mid budget 1080p gaming PC with a really small form factor? I want to be able to sit at different places with my XR-glasses or bring to a hotel in a cabin bag. Would you go for a mini PC or build a small itx? Thanks again! Loving the videos.
Watching this video on the same computer. Great for the price exactly why I got this pc
I love this kind of builds, I would like to someone doing this focusing on the rtx side, what would be the cheapest way to run minecraft rtx or doing a standoff between these builds and the new upcoming apus for example
Thanks for including Zero Dawn
Great Channel Great Job Keep It Up 👍🤠
I subscribed when u had 2000 subscribers. You deseeve it
Hi mate, nice video as always.
In this setup you use PCI 8x, not the 16x which is lower, is that correct?
Do you have big impact in performance?
i might use this for my journey to pcvr
I always in love with small PC builds especially the budget one.
the desktop is actually really great value for the money, got one with a 1650 and another one with a 6400 (both in general available cheaper vs the a2000). Did not encounter any real problems
I want to buy this PC, but mi doubt it's that I will work if I use a 1650 gddr6? I hope u can answer me, than you
@@joshualamadrid in my case I used a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 D6 OC Low Profile 4G with GDDR6 and it works smoothly - even under full gaming load. RX6400 and 1050ti are also good alternatives. The RTX A2000 as LP card is e.g. only limited available in Europe for a reasonable price and in most cases sadly too expensive
Hi, enjoy watching your channel. I have one of these sff HP PC's running i5 8500 . What budget gaming GPU do you recommend?
Hey Mr Prime, You should see how much you can get a HP Z2 SFF G4 as these come with i7 8700 or sometimes even a xeon cpu.
He is using a hp elite desk 800 g3 sff if anyone is wondering. In the 400 and 600 variant the x16 slot is too close to the power supply the rtx a2000 won't fit. You would need to install a single width profile card.
Please do more videos about used cheap gaming mini pc's
Could you do an emulation test on it I would love to see how the cpu performs
That GPU is just insane what it comes to efficiency.
yeah i like these type of videos because it helps low budget gamers to get in to PC gaming without having to retort in to giving an arm or a leg for it
I got a little rechargeable blower to replace the canned air and it's been great so far.
Link?
@@NicCrimson Sadly it's not being sold but look for "Compressed Air Duster, Electric Air Duster" and you should find some very similar to mine. They aren't as powerful as canned air but it works great.
Thanks to your Tests. I got after them a HP G4 800 SFF with an I5 8500 and an A2000 for 500$ with 32GB RAM and 1.5TB SSDs. This should be fine for some Years. Noctua 80mm Fan will fit with some force, because the HP(Foxconn) is very loud. I can recommend a DAC or "Soundcard" :) as well because the Onbord Chip is not that good, Asus Xonar Low Profile, not the best but gets the Job done with UniXonar drivers.
My friend great video. Do you think the ASRock Low Profile Arc A380 6GB, runs on HP ELITEDESK G4 8OO I7 8700?
What program are u using to benchmark? I love the way it looks. I can't ever seem to get afterburner to work right
I'd love to see a comparison between this and an RTX 4000 ada.
These EliteDesk 800 SFF makes a good 2 bay NAS also, idle power consumption is about 10 watts with some tuning
Man, I love these builds of yours. I had one of these for years running my emulation machine and it worked like a charm. I was curious about why you chose that GPU and I think the deciding factor is the low profile right?
In that machine I was talking about, I couldn't get a low profile card where I leave so I did a little bit of extreme modding to the case. Sawed of a piece of the back to be able to fit the card in it and it worked like a charm. Opens up some options for non LP cards so more power and less price. Food for thought.
Thanks for sharing!
I was thinking on using a PCIE extension cable and mounting the GPU outside the case.
RIP air flow
I have one of these hp computers too it's just the MT version I might build myself a 2nd gaming PC with it. 😊
Do you have an ebay account or website that you use to sell any of your extra, duplicate or overstocked items? You always have such great projects going on that sometimes I don't have the time or energy to do myself
Pretty good for what it is and it dos show just how far today's middle of the road mini pc's have to go to offer the same kind of performance at a low energy consumption.
I got a lot of those low profile brackets from work, and we just throw them away😮💨
I got one of these and paired it with a low profile rx 550 and now it’s an emulation machine with pop os. Can even play some basic games on steam. Whole thing cost me 150
I have an Rx 550 coming in today! Pairing with a an i5 6500 mid tower optiplex I picked up for $30, 16gb of ram I got for $8 (for a total of 24gb), and a 1tb ssd for $40. All in with shipping I'm around $120 but I splurged on the SSD.
if only computer components wherent expensive i would love to upgrade mt dell 3060 sff, buts thanks for the great budget build videos man much appreciated
it is awesome what you can get for $100-$200 in a prebuilt if you are willing to put in the work.
curious what a comparable build with hdmi output for tv gaming would look like/cost? maybe even pushing out 1440?
Hello ETA, i do watch a lot of your videos its cool and inspiring. Also i wondering if u could help me with my recent pc problem, i hv Dell Optiplex 3040MT with GTX 1650 and 450W PSU.
The problem is whenever i first boot the pc the GPu not running in max potential after restarting the pc for second times it works normal. Do u hv any thoughts how to fix this ?
Sorry if my english not really good.
Keep making videos bro loved your channel ❤.
Nice iTX
I hope this isn't a stupid question but, if I'm looking to essentially build an emulation machine arcade cabinet that can go up to maybe PS2 at the most, would this be a,good option and would i still need that graphics card?
If you get one of these Dell OptiPlex or hp EliteDesk, make sure it's has 4 slot, not a 2 slot where the pcie16x slot is close to the psu resulting in buying a single slot GPU that will get hot, specially during hot seasons!
Thanks to you ETA I found a good deal on Dell Optiplex 5060 SFF i7-87000 16GB RAM 512GB M.2 SSD for around 200 bucks and I'm so excited about it, I'm gonna paired it with RTX A2000. What do you think?
I'd only consider that Win11 isn't 'officially' supported on the 7700 (upgrading from 22H1 to 22H2 was a bit of a task, etc.). That said, I rescued a Dell e-waste that I "maxxed out" with a 7700, A2000, SSD, and 16GB RAM. It's surprisingly capable.
Are you making an emulation test video of this build?
Please don't use a vaccuum on a computer it can cause static build up and damage computer components. And when you do clean anything with fans please make sure you keep the blades from spinning as that can also damage the board as they can send power back into the mothboard.
I have a HP prodesk 600 g6
10th gen I3
16go ram
1 to nvme pcie 3
And this rtx a2000
1080p beast !!! It run everything in high even well optimised title in ultra
60 fps constantly
Please do a video on the Mac OS game porting toolkit
Could you do a comparison between the RTX A2000 and RX 6400 for this build please? As I'm assuming the A2000 will be limited by the PCIe v3 of this HP machine. Thanks.
With x16 PCIE lanes itll be fine. Even the 3090 with 16x PCIE 3.0 is fine. Modern mid / low range cards are cheaping out by only providing x8 PCI lanes which is causing the bulk of the issues.
Although fairly old, the Dell Optiplex you (and other 'tubers) recommended has served me well. That and a GTX 970 handles all my favorite Steam games smoothly at 1080p.
I will ask this, though. A couple years ago I bought a gen 8/9 mobo from Meh for a cheap price. I haven't found a cheap CPU to put in it, though. Suggestions?
The i7-8700 is older, but it's still a 6c/12t CPU that's no slouch for just under $100.
@@PacketWrangler Thanks for the suggestion. $100 is pretty expensive on my tight budget, but I'll keep it in mind.
I got a free elite desk with the i59500 i put it a 1050ti such an amazing pc
Have you heard of CPU called Intel QQLS? You could use it to improve CPU performance. Thing is I don't know any existed BIOS for this HP Motherboard
Did bro rlly just repost the same video?
Did you use A2000 or the 3050 drivers?
can you do a video of emulation on this pc
just a heads up this setup cannot run RPCS3. Nm it can I had to turn fifo to atomic. After that I got around an avg of 35 fps.cpu Temps avg about 70 to 72 degrees c.
This is the exact one i mentioned in your overclock video from yesterday. I'm using it now.. My 4gb 1650 gets 3521 ish on timespy. The A 2000 is something.
What is OG Skyrim? Anniversary Edition is on sale for 20$ on steam.
I paid 200$ for my sff last year from ebay.
How well does the A2000 handle emulation? This office PC with the i7 7700 should be good to go for many emulators!
Is this a bespoke PSU or will an SFX/Flex fit in the slot? I can’t tell from the video or pictures or description if this is a Flex PSU or not sorry
Maybe I'm paranoid but I wouldn't use a vacuum cleaner on a computer. They can generate a LOT of static electricity. A grounded metal nozzle on a compressor hose is okay. Stick a finger in the fans to keep them from spinning while you're blowing it out.
Nice job on the video. I like the idea of getting more life out of the parts.
Is this is a reupload? Was somerhing wrong with the other version?
could you use a carbon sheet like thermal grizzly makes? instead of paste
hi . i wanna buy this unit with i5 7th gen & GT 1030 & Use it as streaming & recording from obs pc at 1080p . is it a good choice for streaming ?????
How do you install Windows 11 on a 7th gen cpu? I thought you need a 8th gen cpu to install ?Windows 11.
How do you get windows 11 working on a 7th gen CPU?
Can you test out unofficial pc ports, for the sake of it?
Would this work with the HP 600 G4? Specs are almost identical, and I have one with an i7-8700 that I'm just DYING to rage-quit Fortnte on 🤣
Does the Ryzen Pro version of these EliteDesk just as good?
Bro, I want to ask if ROG ALLY can play the games Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042 or Call of Duty Warzone, please try and get the graphics and FPS settings. 😊😅
review the msi Creator P50 Series
I have a feeling that the very same config was already here on a channel a few months ago...
Also, the issue with these used sff pc is non stanard parts being used. If the power supply dies - you cannot simply replace it with another one. And I'm pretty sure it will die quickly when being constantly used at its power limit.
Jep, this Video already was posted months ago.
An idiot's guide to doing something like this would be very welcome. I'd love to be able to manage it
Does it have to be that specific gpu or can I use a rtx dual fan Gigabyte rtx2060?
Funny I heard the FTC say you need a $1000 to $1500 PC to game on
Couple of years ago? Yes, very much so. Also wouldn't take much going on in the world to push the prices back up.
I managed to get an optiplex 5050 with the same specs for under $100. I am not sure if the a2000 will fit or not (some sources say it can, others say it can’t), but I’m going to try. Bear in mind the 5050 and 7050 are extremely similar, so if it works for me it’ll work in the 7050 as well. I’ll update here when I get the parts.
7050 won't work
@@fkaiba94 After doing research I found that yes, it does work. You just need extra power connectors because the x4 slot only gives 25W. Other than that it’ll run fine. You only lose
@@cressothegrey4354 well the problem for me is that the gpu didn't fit
@@fkaiba94 Are you trying to fit it in the x16 slot or the x4 slot? I’ve seen people install it in the x4 slot no problem. It’s just the x16 slot that doesn’t work, since that only supports single slot GPUs
@@cressothegrey4354 hmmmm I'll have to check it out again
Have you tried an 8th gen ProDesk? An 8th gen i7 will smoke this guy in newer titles
So If you have a 3d printer, you can print a bracket as well. I have done this when I cannot find LP Bracket.
are u getting mDP to DP adapter with gpu?
Awesome build 👍
One can use a soft-fTPM underneath (e.g. ProxMox) in case folks need Win11.
178W max, 37W idle . . . pretty good actually. Thank you for measuring it.
Kindest regards and Happy Fourth!
the new value king - you can easily get a power adapter and put it in a better case - will run 64gb ram
If im not mistaken Windows 11 its unsupported below eight gen intel cpu, so are you running a patched version? If so a tutorial would be a interesting video...
Coincidentally i also just purchased g3 model hours before this video, although it's on i5 instead.
Will the rtx fit into a Dell optiplex 7050 sff?
U need to checkout the Xeon e5 2667v4 chip, u'll be impressed
so a server cpu and a gfx studio gpu... winning! :D
Very interesting. These small machines interest me more and more after some time. I got rid of my old system and just kept my storage. Went and Built a MINI ITX PC with i5-13500, 64GB of DDR4 3200Mhz Ram and a GTX 1060 6GB (Used) for total of 700€.
That ram amount kinda overkill cuss for that cpu but it’s good to be future proof

@@DarkLordJman Nothing to be sorry about you couldn't have known in the first place.
How well would it work for emulation?
Emulation definitely now seems to take a back seat in your videos. Are we to assume if you don't do any emulation it's coz the machine in question can do up to PS3 / XboX360 / Switch at 60fps as standard ?
I have a similar machine and while Switch emulation works, Tears of the Kingdom for example doesn't run well. It struggles to reach 30, if it runs at all.
I'm gonna cry cause i built one of these with the i5 8500 (6 cores) and the same GPU, but i had to sell it cause im broke and couldnt find a job for months. Also, here's some advice for some of you *THE DELL'S DONT HAVE SPACE FOR THE RTX A2000* . Seriously, any Dell SFF will only have 2 slots, and the x16 (the compatible pci slot) is too close to the power supply. This is the same for the HP ProDesks and the G5 series Elitedesks(G5/Ryzen). Only go for the EliteDesk 800 and the ThinkCentre 720s/725s
Arggggg A2000. No longer a budget here in Canada. Still $600 here.
