    This documentary shows the band that other bands never became. Its the heart, passion, and brotherhood that makes Skindred an incredible band. The music is true to who they are. Love these guys!!!

    Just came across this video tonight, and it’s a great documentary, my friend Sarah introduced me to your music a month or so before you played Sick New World in Las Vegas, we watched the video of when you did the Newport Helicopter at Download and it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. At that moment I told my friend Sarah I am definitely going to make sure I see these guys at Sick New World, and there were about 15 of my favorite bands playing that festival and I truly believe you guys were the best band of the festival, and just how you talked about Benji’s charisma in the documentary and being born to be a front man, You couldn’t be more right, he was absolutely amazing how he controls the crowd, it was so fun being apart of that crowd that day, keep rocking! And hope to catch you guys playing again soon, you guys are an incredible live band!!!
    I have a CZcams concert channel and recorded your whole set: czcams.com/video/n2PXxBCxHzg/video.htmlsi=TQ2Sihr0FPiWc1N4

    i love these guys
    i listen to these guys a lil excessively sometimes .... then put em away for a while .. when i come back to em , i'm always like why'd i stop listening to these guys ?lol there's so unique in the metal community, they stand out, despite the genre bashers who like to find a classification for every kind of music ..then bash that type of music ..when in fact bands like skindred defy there narrow minded classifications.
    i think bands like this are what defines modern rock .

    Thought it was funny when mikey said he's glad he's in a band that's unique. Do skindred think they invented the ragga metal style or something?

    • @robgreen1818
      @robgreen1818 Před 6 lety +10

      Markotron3000 Welsh dancehall/reggae metal with dub influences. There aren’t any other bands like them.

    • @MarksWorldOfAdventure
      @MarksWorldOfAdventure Před 6 lety

      Freaky fuckin weirdoz and asian dub foundation were blending metal with rap, ragga, drum n bass and bhangra in the 90's. This kind of genre blending was commonplace in the 90's. Things have got more formulaic since then which makes skindred stand out from the crowd. But compared to a lot of 90's genre blending bands, skindred are actually quite formulaic

    • @MarksWorldOfAdventure
      @MarksWorldOfAdventure Před 6 lety +1

      Listen to the Culture Shock album by Freaky Fukin Weirdoz. They were doing ragga metal back in 95. Rage against the machine also recorded a ragga metal song on their original demo album in 91, which they decided not to release at the time. I think skindred perfected the style that others had previously tried to do, but they didn't invent the ragga metal style

    • @MarksWorldOfAdventure
      @MarksWorldOfAdventure Před 6 lety +1

      Check out Insolence aswell. They mix up hardcore , punk , dancehall , reggae and hip-hop

    • @MarksWorldOfAdventure
      @MarksWorldOfAdventure Před 6 lety

      Thinking about it, FFW and Dubwar were around at the same time period, so difficult to say who did the ragga metal style first between them. There does seem to be other bands jumping on the reggae metal thing now aswell like Fear Nuttin Band, Verge of Umbra, and Eyesburn. I'm not overly familiar with these bands but some of the stuff I've heard sounds cool
