Here is me repeating what I was taught by a QC engineer at a propellant manufacturer. He said that one cause for overpressure and breech damage was weak primer. Contrary to popular belief, the propellant isn’t intended to be ignited at one end and burn along, rather primer / initiator is intended to utterly surround each grain (or extruded rod), and each is to burn from outside in, as deflagration and not detonation. If the primer is weak and the propellant begins to burn at one end, the pressure rise is delayed and the projectile doesn’t move immediately. As pressure and temperature now builds in a smaller compartment, deflagration rate increases, so total energy is the same, but the pressure curve looks now too shallow initially, but with a sudden steep ramp, climbing above burst threshold. Further, if the last small amount of propellant transitions to detonation, the gun breech may burst at a lower than proofed pressure due to the strain rate being exceeded. The steel normally stretches out elastically then recovers. But, if a very sharp spike occurs, it will fail sooner. Analogy is, slowly pressing a steel ball onto a glass window as opposed to sharply throwing it. Apply slowly and much glass participates. Apply quickly (the same peak force), and only the glass at the ball touch participates.

I've always appreciated your CIA informed humor on the shows.
This was actually an interesting report. Having said that, why is it that when you are discussing the F-16 with Ryan the images you showed were of every aircraft in the world except for the F-16?? And since you are promoting Ryan's substack and his CZcams channel - couldn't you have provided a few links in the show notes??? Lastly, consider putting your promotions at the end of the report instead of ambushing your listeners throughout the video.
Lieutenant Shaffer advocating for assets (troops on the ground) in the middle easy is absolutely insane. Like, how do you justify that after looking at the past 20 years? Because it worked so well then? Not even discussing the impact the "war on terror" had on the us financially, or how many Americans came home and blew their brains out after. I'm not sure if these people are justifying their own jobs or actually evil, but they certainly don't learn from their mistakes.
Call me whatever you want, but Israel sizing down air defenses by getting rid of those batteries, potentially right before they go to war in Lebanon is questionable to me……..
Highly questionable, unless the US is withholding munitions from Israel unless they give up those batteries. Which I think this administration has no problem doing .
Rule of thumb for "glide bombs" seems to be 15 -20miles per 10k feet of altitude dropped from, higher altitudes = thinner air

Russia's starting points include giving up Crimea and the Donbass; permanent military neutrality including no foreign trainers or exercises; and a cap on the military of 85,000 troops, 350 tanks, and no weapon with a range of more than 40 km. The only concession they made was allowing EU economic integration, but no military integration. They would be setting up Ukraine for a future conquest after Russia rebuilds.

What are you talking about? There is recent video proof of HIMARS hitting their targets accurately. Ukraine and the US has admitted that the Russian EW has affected the GLSDB but did not affect the SDB launched from bombers.
