He's not an expert on anything other than infantry anti-tank warfare within the US military. He's definitely not an expert on air war.
@@B.D.E.Yup, though I would argue there is no such thing as an expert. To support your statement, he incorrectly attributed. D/SEAD capabilities of Block 50 F-16CM+ with F-16AM MLU Vipers from the MSIP partner nations in Europe.
This is a critical set of details with strategic implications for the discussion, because those F-16AM MLU birds don't have the D/SEAD systems or weapons interface.
F-16AM MLU program did add most of the A2A capes with AIFF, AIM-120C5 and C7, newer Radar, color MFDs, GPS, and other systems to support NATO Air Policing and Intercept missions, but to my knowledge, they are not HARM Targeting System Pod capable.

Ryan McBeth is always so clear and straightforward in his explanations that he is a pleasure to listen to.
Simple is often wrong
He's discribing wild weasel missions. It is fucking insane to expect unexperianced pilots to do that.
One plane flying in as bait to then have another more advanced plane hanging back and firing when the bait activated the AA weapons.
BTW wtf is the more advanced plane going to be hanging back ?
You do that with an F-16 when you have a second line F-35 hanging back to lock on and fire at the AA systems that turn on.
This is not something Ukraine has the training, experiance or equipment for.
Ryan McBeth is an incredible presence on camera and knows his stuff and knows how to communicate clearly, succinctly and effectively.
His description of the European NATO F-16s does not match a Block 50 Viper for A2G capes. The European F-16AM MLU birds were primarily upgraded with A2A capes of Block 50, not the D/SEAD capes of F-16CM Block 50/52+.

Please give Ukraine anything they want and need. Russia has to be stopped.
They need people more than weapons.
You can't hold a front line if you don't have enough boots on the ground.
@@davedevonlad7402 Ukraine has enough boots, While outnumbered 4:1 Population wise, Ukraine has a many times smaller Border to Defend than Russia does. How much Manpower & Material can Russia lose before the rest of their Borders become Indefensible?
@@bremnersghost948 sorry but that's a very narrow minded comment, Ukraine doesn't have enough manpower to cover the whole boarder at depth while losing troops everyday.
In the long run no Matter how many weapons you have it won't Matter if you don't have the strength in depth.
All wars have been like this if you don't have the numbers on the ground and you don't get the required replacements it's going to be extremely difficult to sustain a continued front line let alone to push back the Russians.
Including Belarus and Russia, Ukraine must defend over 1,000 miles of territory as these are all potential attack points "and I am not even including the southern coast"
What must happen is NATO must get involved and put a buffer zone across the whole Belarusian border to free up Ukrainian troops and to stop any thoughts of an attack on Ukraine from Belarus, it would also aid any humanitarian aid routes and protect the civilians from bombing in an area if under the control of UN peace keepers.

Wonder why he left off JASSM agm-158. Deeper strikes from standoff ranges means low risk f-16 flights.
My guess: Once the National Guard gets their pre-block F16s upgraded to JASSM capability, it may become a possibility.
There will be no low risk flights in that airspace at any range. Safer, sure. Safe? Not a chance.
the USA wont deliver JASSM, as they blocked/vetoed before similar systems like the Taurus.
@@zhufortheimpaler4041 Sure, just like they blocked Atacms. BTW- Taurus is German, so US cannot block it.
@@SwarmerBees Taurus GPS guidance, sensors and engine are US sourced and subjected to US re-export/export restrictions.
For Exports to Non-NATO Partners (Like South Korea) germany has to request an export permission from the US.
Even with SK, the US delayed that export by 2 years in the 2010´s
*
So yes, the USA CAN and WILL block Taurus Exports to Customers they dont want to have Taurus.
(Like Ukraine).
Stormshadow/SCALP is adifferent matter, those use domestic GPS Sensors and Guidance etc, so they can be exported.
Due to these problems the USA inflicts on Taurus, SK and Germany are currently working on replacing the US Components with SK/German components in Taurus.

Great story. A voice of reason instead of MAGA propaganda.
And you all just hope that this doesnt go nuclear and all for what, a non-nato country on the border of Russia, have some perspective, do you think the US would just let Mexico cozy up to China or Iran or Russia and join an economic and military alliance with China or Russia...
@@adairjanney7109 we dont have to imagine. Cuba is already 90 miles from the border and trades with U.S. enemies and the U.S. hasn't invaded with the intention of taking over the island and adding it to U.S. territory.
You're so bad faith with that argument, you're either a Russina bot, or a Russina bot propaganda consumer.
Ukraine choosing to side with the West because Russia is a garbage country that has treated its neighbors like garbage doesn't mean Russia gets to invade Ukraine with the intent of making it part of Russia.
Even if the West stopped providing aid, do you think the Ukrainians would surrender and stop fighting? No. They've already said they'd fight to the end, and I fully believe that. And Russia knows it too.
Russia must be stopped here. This is exactly what happened when Hitler started invading his neighbors and the Allies ignored it until it was too late. You stop Russia now, or decades from now after they've taken over Georgia and the rest of their former satellite states, as Russia has made clear they want to do.
Why is Biden not providing US fighters? Seems the US has the largest inventory of old F16s
Pretty sure ryan is a newsmax contributior and has made the MAGA news circuit. Not saying he is MAGA but he leans that direction. Probably a conservative Republican at least.

Great having Ryan share his thoughts
7:00 They never attacked these airfields by sending bombers in. They use Orlan(scouting drones) and send cruise missiles instead. There is a high risk for these to get destroyed on the ground.
yes, that was a very weird answer, positing a hypothetical, obviously unworkable approach that Russia has never attempted and not even mentioning the ways they've typically attacked planes on the ground
His "analysis" (using the term very loosely) of the opening of the northern front likewise made no mention of Russian aims or how it might fit into a larger strategy. He just declares it unsuccessful without giving a reason and then claims Russia was attacking "prepared defenses" akin to Russia's defenses in the south which is just untrue. Ukraine is prosecuting dozens of officials for corruption after they failed to prepare any significant defenses, effectively letting the Russians walk across the border with minimal resistance. the Ukrainians have been forced to dedicated disproportionate and desperately lacking reserves to the North as a consequence, which many speculate was the real purpose of Russia opening the front.
At times Ryan has some fabulous flubbs in his assessments. That was a stand out one. Just a week ago Russia destroyed a few jets sitting on the tarmac with cruise missiles and drones.

Ukraine has now fielded fpv drones that can fly at 600khm speed. .....
When I saw over a year ago the first video where dji drone rammed another drone, I knew there will be drones hunting other drones.
This is parallel to WW1 aeroplanes, how airforces evolved

90 F-16s is significant.
I heard 85 but there are thousands of F16's out there in the world. US has 1,200 in storage. I gather some F16s will be kept outside of Ukraine as replacements. So a pilot could fly a damaged F16 to another country and pick up a replacement plane. As Ukraine has been doing with its artillery and tanks.
I could listen to Ryan all day. Very knowledgeable and interesting . Thank you!
It's our boy McBeth!
Fantastic
Issue is the delivery time. Belgium will deliver 30 by 2028, first ones by the end of 2024. It seems we're only donating them at the rate the already ordered F35s are being delivered to us. We did train pilots and maintenance crews together with denmark and the netherlands. As for spare parts, there are a few companies around here who's only business is maintaining and upgrading f16s for militaries worldwide, no worries there, they apparently have enough parts to build a few squadrons, figuratively speaking ofcourse. Anyway, dont know for sure but i assume the danish and dutch f16 will arrive sooner than ours but I do hope we find a way to speed up our own donation.
yeah the whole story around the F-16 is more driven by hope and dreams than facts.
The Danish and Dutch F-16´s will also only arrive in 2025 as it looks now
