  • On this week’s show, we are joined by Montreal Canadians legend Serge Savard who played for 16 seasons where won the Stanley Cup 10 times! 8 times as a player and twice as a General Manager. He is the inventor of the “Savardian SPIN-A-RAMA” and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1986. Conn Smyth Trophy winner (1969), 4 time NHL All Star and a member of Team Canada in the 1972 Canada - Russia Summit Series. An amazing conversation about hockey history as lived by Serge Savard..! Enjoy!

What a legend! We Habs fans were in our glory in the seventies. It is still a thrill to listen to the greats from those teams talk about their experiences back then. These podcasts provide a chance to enjoy these conversations that were simply not available to us in our younger years.

Serge is a true gentleman.I met him in Halifax many years ago. We had a great hockey conversation on the NHL and the QMJHL.

Serge had everyone here in the Boston area humbled when he came out of nowhere to dominate the 69 playoffs. He kept the Bruins off-balance the whole series. That was Serge before his fractured legs -- no one could catch him.

I’m so sick of everyone putting down the Flyers! No talent? How bout Bobby Clarke, Rick MacLeish, Reggie Leach, Bill Barber, Bernie Parent! Funny though how everybody loved the Flyers in 76 when they decisively trounced the Red Army. The only NHL team to do so. The HABS could only tie them

Nobody's putting down The Flyers because they were a great team & even The Montreal Canadiens who beat them in 1976 acknowledged that. Even Phil Esposito admitted that.

Not as great as Henri Richard who won 11 Stanley cups as a player. The only NHLer to do It.
