I found I'm more creative with the paddle fx layout vs. channel layout, so the REV7 led me to also buy the DJM-S7.

Is this the best controller ever made? I've been looking at everything out there, and the only downside to this is the external power brick supply and no easy access to change fader when you need to replace them.
Apart from those two things I think it's an exceptional design.
I'm having the most fun in year PRODUCING with the rev 7, and maschine plus in standalone and learning a lot. With soundcloud go+, unlimited hq music commercial and underground. I play songs, connect the booth output to my maschine plus in standalone, and sample, I use the filters, the eq, the huge nr of fx, the 50% timestretch and changing of key, without changing the length. No smurf effect here. And of course the ring that changes everything, stems. I sample them, slice them, make a rex file and change the sounds with other, like another kick snare and hihat and keep the same groove. Then I go the opposite way, with my soundcard that has 10 outs, I only need 4 but hey ready for the future. Then I use my maschine plus with my laptop, split the song or beat in different parts, like drums and melody and bass etc, and then I just jam and record going through the 2 channels, of fx, with the crossfader and the level faders taking things out, throwing shit in, take away the bass and so on. syncing both devices is a breeze still needs a little tweaking but good enough for me. Then I have 15 mins of jamming, take that into reason take the good parts out and arrange, do some mixing and mastering and I have songs I could only dream of. On a deserted island I only need that hard and software and will not reach the end of possibilities in 50 years. Really for those with an mpc or m+ try it, it's disgustingly fun. It used to be an old moc and a turntable, but man the future is NOW. Make a vid about that and you'll be famous in a week 😉

Had a rev 7 no cue button and pvc platter not good but the mixer is brilliant.
You can midi map the start/stop button as a cue setting to where you would hold shift and press the start/stop button to activate cue.

hey i'd like to know if you can put additionnal turntable on phono/line and still use the controller ... to turn the Rev 7 in a 4 channels mixer ... because you can have 4 desk on serato ... so could it be possible ?
it seem that when you choose the phono line external mode it cut the controlleur side ...
Due to the 2 channel mixer, you can't play 4 decks at the same time. But you could switch from phono / line from rekordbox.
All of these things are standard for all of Pioneers pro level controllers.

Yes, it's a standalone mixer which means all of the built in 'Beat FX' will work with external equipment like vinyl or CDJs!

Stand alone, when it comes to controllers, means that they have internal memory to hold music and/or can read from usb sticks.
What you should say is that the controller can be used as an external mixer.
Without a laptop, this controller does not play music.
this is the second video from your store using incorrect terminology to describe a product.
Please do not confuse the consumer, educate the consumer.
He is explicitly talking about mixer’s ability to be used in a standalone mode, and not the whole controller.
I use my rev7 with two turntables and zero laptops. Works perfectly. I’m certain this is what the op meant by standalone
Imagine tying all that just to be wrong. He said the mixer is standalone, which is true. He did not say it is a stand alone controller.

I would buy one if the faders are at their normal position , it’s standalone, it doesnt have a big touch screen, it has two led screens at their normal positions over the jog to show the track and to choose between tracks, basically like cdjs 400 or 350 . I think many people would buy one I don’t know why they are not making it

You need a laptop to play music yes it's standalone but only the mixing station
Yea, the mixer is standalone so you can use it with external CDJs or turntables. You can also use the REV7 without a laptop in 'Instant Scratch' mode!
