I have owned a lot of motorcycles in my life (over 40) and I don’t think I have ever had such pleasure as my Z900rs. I am tempted to put a pipe on it but really the stock pipe sounds amazing and I think it’s probably the best looking for me too. Would like for the cat to be gone to to lose the weight and the appearance of it when your leaned over but Kawasaki did a fantastic job of making this thing sound great and to be legal. Thanks Kawasaki for the pleasure this bike gives me.
you can`t fool us karl
saw a video of stock exhaust with cat removed via link pipe, sounded pretty good. Brocks sounds best, but honestly my 2021 rs is awesome in every respect just as it is. Kawasaki nailed it. I'm 63 years young, have owned many bikes, but this one is hands down the BEST.
Me too❤
Man I have the same feeling, maybe have an Akrapovic front pipe to remove the heavy cat is a good way.
Keeping the stock muffler with the Akropovic header is a great way to improve power and reduce weight while only slightly increasing the volume of the great sounding stock pipe. I’d say the Brock’s is a close tie but it’s a ton of money for what can essentially be done with the Akropovic header especially if you already like the look and sound.
i bought the 2019 RS Cafe. i ususlly change exhaust on everything i buy but going to keep this one stock. Kawi did a good job on it
This bike actually sounds awesome stock.
The funny thing is if you listen to all of these there's really no difference you either have a little deeper or they sound about the same as stock I'm like one of the other guys that commented I usually change my exhaust but with this one Kawasaki did everything so correct but the sound and everything else why change it if you go to a header you only gain in like 6 to 10 horsepower that's it
@@chazwesson 10hp on a 100hp bike is quite a bit tho. I plan on doing a header and stock slip on as its a bit to quiet for my taste as is.
@@b_baker yeah I've heard that too and I'm thinking going that way it's just going to be a little bit I think I want to do the header with the stock Muffler or I'm going to go with the SC project haven't really decided
@@chazwesson yes until I heard the Brocks exhaust...it sounded deep and throaty, looked good and retro too!
@@chazwesson, like B_Baker said, that's quite a bit. Not to mention the 15lbs you lose from the factory cat. 10 more hp and minus 15lbs.... That's very much noticable.
Brock and Akra by far the best sounding..... A real blast back to the Z's of the past, when fitted with a Harris or similar. Nice!
The Brock's sounds the best to me, but man, what a price. An Akrapovic header and the factory muffler sounds good as well at half the price.
I also can’t stand the obnoxious branding.
@@StrangelyBrownNo1 That doesn't bother me. A lot of aftermarket stuff is branded like that. Let's everyone know what your working with.
@@ericthered7226 that's what bothers a lot of people about it 😂
Agreed and I doubt you would be losing much compared to the full Brock’s exhaust. Plus it still sounds great.
brock’s👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😘
lmao the stock exhaust sounds the best of all of them!
Thanks for putting all of those together
IX Race, Deeep, and Rich Note!
Leaving mine stock. Sounds great as is.
Akra pipes and stock muffler is the best combo sound for this bike
People talk about a Slip-On not making much of a difference but here in some European countries it is illegal to change the headers to an open system because it gets way too loud... and the removal of the cat is also frowned upon by the government
Remus seems to add some bass on the OEM which is definitely a good thing
SC Project wins as usual 🖤🤯
Badass bike!
Akra and sc never let me down bro 🤣
Akra headers and the stock end can -look at the Team moto vid from Perth
I liked the Brock & the Leo Vince I would prefer the single can & full exhaust for both systems 😎😎
Nice, but I must admit I'm very happy with stock😃
Thanks ! The best sound for me, the XRACE ! If i catch this 900 RS, directly XRACE ! V
It sounds great stock.
unas bellesas y sus sonidas
sc project is the best imo.
Thae CSR looks exactly like the Yash pipes of the days of the original KZ's. All we had were Yash and Kerker.
The kerker sounded more throaty and the Yash sounded more Farrari like. But I'm old and my brain cells are a bit foggy.
They still hand bend the Yash if you can afford them . You would truly have a one of a kind though.
Thanks for compiling all these. They all sound good, just a little different and 900 times better than any Harley.
Agree...there were a few others as well, Hindle was popular as I recall.
In my neck of the woods, Kerker was most popular on Kawasaki bikes and Yoshimura was popular with Suzuki/Honda bikes. Yamaha? I didn't know anyone that had a 'sporty' Yamaha street bike in late '70s/'80s, ha!
Standard pipe already sounds and looks great.
Only reason i would change is if a pipe added a bit more performance.
judging by everyone who did an exhaust install on this bike, it gain 10hp from exhaust alone without tune.
Swap out the crap stock header for an Akropovic and you got 99% of the ridiculous priced Brock’s. No muffler alone with the stock header will come close to the performance.
A Kawasaki retro bike needs a KERKER exhaust system! Remember: KERKER KICKS @SS !!
BTW, Remus, Brock, and Cobra are my choices for best sound of the bunch.
I want to KERKER Full Exhaust System🏍️💨♪♪♪
Yeah I liked Remus
Wonder why anyone would give a thumbs down to this compilation! Anyway, I have never bought an aftermarket exhaust. Have always drilled them out or bashed a spiking tool down the exhaust, needs a lump hammer to get through the baffle plate or plates. Feels like it's going to damage the bolt holding the exhaust in place but I have always been able to undo and check and have never had a problem.
Damn I need this bike in my life
As for me the Akro, Remus, Arrow and last exhaust system sounds good
Bronks exaust ficou parecendo sete galo top
SC Project comes close to the past.
Kerker !!
wait I'm 40 years too late ...
Wow astig... V.l.s
Looks wise I'd say Brocks it's the only one in keeping with the retro style but sound wise I'd say Cobra , I'm going to buy a Brocks myself
I’ll do the same if I decide to get a tune done. That’s a big IF. Like it perfectly fine stock so far.
The brocks was one option I was looking at for mine, decided to go with the cobra long carbon fiber full system with the matte black header, sounds absolutely amazing and makes quite a bit more power even without a tune
Beet Japan, yoshimura and arrow!
IXRACE 👍
I would say go with Cobra if you want it to sound more like a sport liter bike, but the Remus sounded appropriate for the character of the bike.
Forget all this mufflers. Put Akrapovic pipes on with the nice original Kawasaki muffler and you have the best sound and a very good loocking original muffler too.
The pipes without catalyst makes the sound, not the mufflers.
No, it is way too loud. At constant 100km and above it becomes unbearable. Stock system is best
@@bogdanbosoi1483 A Kawasaki 900 RS is for healty ears never to loud, it is sheer sound of a motorbike in the 70's with the Akra-pipes.
For LGBTQ-Ears is it maybe to loud.😎
First I was vroooooooo but now I'm BRAAAAAAAAAP
The design of the CSR exhaust is close to the original pipe that gave the original Z1 the best performance numbers for peak power at the strip , I cannot remember the guys name who designed it , anybody old enough to remember the brand ?
Thanks for the video, some sounded just like the original can. Not particularly sold on an inline 4 engine notes, so can't really comment. But from what everyone has been telling me about how awesome it sounds when I pull away, I'll be leaving the stock cans on and splashing out on new rear hugger and front fender extender instead.
I’d say most of them sound like garbage compared to stock other than the Brock’s.
Remus sin dudar el mejor
That leo vince sounded awesome but hate 1 to 2’s
Nah, ya cant do a note comparison in different environments. Put em all in the same space & have another go. I would suggest Macphlamy Park. Bathurst. Full noise ! Then ya might get it.
why are they all so quiet these days.. even tho this bike looks brilliant and i love that kawasaki have made a modern version of this bike it still sounds nothing like the old z i used to ride.. where is the super lumpy idle? where is the exhaust that sounds like it's a straight thru?
What does Mr. Dyno say about all of this?
Broks And akrapovic
Standard .
Brocks or akra but it should have the all black option
I think the leo vince had the best sound ?
Why would you put a modern looking exhaust onna retro looking bike? The brocks looked awesome.
and it fits too
Most of these are slip ons and sound the same Generally, unless you get a full header the slip on portion don't change much such as brocks system
The brocks is the only one that sounds and looks right. Could be a bit higher and longer like a kerker mega phone but very nice.
I mean why would you even put a modern looking exhaust on a retro inspired bike?
Look at the kerker mega phone on the Kawasaki zrx and all black of course!
I'm considering Brocks or Akropovic to my 82 XV920 thoughts? Roast? Tips?
xv920, dont bother , just dont bother
Remus my favorite sound..Leo's the worst but come on guys You could cut this video in half All you need is six or seven seconds per exhaust.
😳Le plus joli son c’est l’échappement d’origine .
Not a great test really as some still have cats fitted and some don't. You need to do two videos one for bikes with the cats and one without.
you can't compare exhaust sounds in different environments like in a tunnel..garage and than outside..the sound is different..
Brooks sounded best to me....I guess kerker is out of the game ??
I love the sound of the stock exhaust and Leo Vince, others just make more noise, nothing special.
360P IN 2022??? C'MON MAN...
Beet japan
3:13 beet japan exhaust: www.beet.co.jp/english/kawasaki/z900rs/index.html
I bought the black one, $500 bucks cheaper. I’m happy with it. All this exhaust nonsense? I’m leaving this bike bone stock, the way God intended. I think Kawasaki did fine enough.
Remus👍🏻
I'll be getting an ECU tune to correct the overly lean factory tune. Other than that, nothing.
Paps hindi po ba yan bawal?
japanese bike...? Yoshimura...
All of these "slip-on" are no match for that Giant muffler that still remains under the engine.
Brocks
Not a true reflection as some had standard headers with the cat some de cat…..
Exactly. If you don't de-cat the stock pipe or get full headers, it won't sound good at all. I just de-cat my Z900rs and left the stock muffler and it sound great.
Akrapovic win this shit
Rhe double Leovince sounds great but looks terrible...
just adding a can does nothing for this bike. need to change out the headers…
How come everything old school sounds way better than anything new? I would rather buy a 73 through 77 Kawasaki 900 and restore it and have a beautiful sound and paint job than to buy a new one of these.
Ever heard of emissions standards? That's why.
Fuel injection and computers makes a huge difference.
Delkevic or RF-Biketech; the rest are fugly!
You hit the rev limiter ! Really? You kill engines that way!
A lot of people just have no mechanical sympathy and no idea. Which is why I only buy brand new motorcycles.
You really have no idea if you think limiter kills engines
Better give it a second thought in Ca to adding any can in this crap hole Libertarian state!! It’s not a ‘fix it ticket ‘ anymore. It’s a moving violation and they can and often do impound your rides. I own an all original ‘83 Honda NIghthawk 650SC with 28,3XX original miles, almost daily. I found a “attic find” brand new Kerker 4into1 with he Original cone. I installed it, rejected it and took to a show to have it all dialed in. Funny thing is the so-called tech says to me, what the hell kind of pipe is this? I laughed and told him the was the “Gold standard” for all 4into1 pipes. He looks at me like I’m half outta my mind. His boss told you better write it down, that guys know his bikes, and well. My 36 yr old Honda still hauls ass and sounds great and for only $263. I only get pulled over cuz the bike is so old and Cops cannot believe I have kept it so clean, and sounds so good. Not too loud, but you know its there.
"KERKER Kicks @SS" .... absolute truth in Marketing!
