7 may be awesome but this is the remake I always wanted too.
I prefer a 6 remake to have full voice acting and environments like FFVIIR, but with a more stylized (anime-ish or Anamo-style) graphics

6 Remake would be too difficult to make like FF7R, because of the sheer amount of characters in the party. + The story is too grand, too many sideplots.
It's either this (which I would love, added voice-acting and next level 2D Pixel art). Or a remake in maybe 10 to 20 years from now, if debelopment in size is easier.
Chrono Trigger and FFVI remade Octopath style with orchestral soundtracks... all I need in life.

Final fantasy VI will always be the best Final fantasy for me. I can't describe with words how much a remake like this mean to be. Can't Square enix understand? @@ltb1345 If Final Fantasy IV gets remade like this, there should be a choice of two stat modes: which are Classic mode and Modern mode. For example, in the 2D versions of Final Fantasy IV, Child Rydia can use bows, but in the 3D versions, she can’t, hence Classic mode and Modern mode respectively. The 2D graphics content would be taken from the PSP version. There would be three modes in fact: Classic, Modern Easy, and Modern Hard.
This is what the pixel remaster intro should have been...

With the DQ3 remake getting this treatment, I had to come back to this. DQ3 and FF6 were the games I always considered the most worthy of this kind of touchup, and now that one of them has got it, I hope that Square Enix lets us have the other!

This is my dream Remake, to see the Octopath team working on VI.
Looks fantastic! My only criticism would be that the walking pace and the amount of distance covered does not match. It looks as if the mechs are sliding across the snow. Otherwise, I love the proof of concept and how y'all really nailed the feel of the original. Wish SE would stop allocating their funds towards projects like Forspoken and put more money towards doing a remake like this for FF6...if only.

Here after the Live a Live announcement confirmed Squenix is willing to do this to an old game.
Im praying every single day that if the FF7R trillogy is succesful enough they will go back and remake 6, whether it be in Octopath style or 7R. I just need a FF6 remake in my lifetime and my life will be well lived. The Opera House scene in the Pixel Remaster proves they can do it. I was shocked when i saw how great that part looked and was kinda pissed they just didnt take the time to do the whole game that way.
Final Fantasy 1-6, Mystic Quest, and Chrono Trigger needs to be remake in this style.
Add Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana, Terranigma, and even 5th generation Pokémon games.

If we ever want a remake of this game then we can't keep trying to push the limits of graphics. What it needs is Skyrim's balance of graphics and gameplay.
I have been wanting this since the first time I saw this game, Final Fantaay VI is the perfect game to play it like this.

This would be nice, but I would still prefer a remake in the style of FF7R. As how expansive and epic the story is in FF6, I think it would work better. And I actualy believe it will happen someday.

Part of me doesn't want to see a remake because the original Famicom version is already a masterpiece as it is.
That said, I do want to give the younger generation a chance to experience what we did. They need to understand why we always talk about this game and why it really is the best Final Fantasy.
A three-season anime could also be really cool if done properly.
Well, I kinda agree, but luckily for you they're all masterpieces no matter what game you're playing. Personally, I'd say the best tip I can provide is to try out the Opera scene - WITH PROFESSIONAL VOCALS NOW, NO LESS - in Italian. There are countless wonderful things about the game, even on the Super NES, but I must say I do wonder how the Opera scene was supposed to sound that amazing if all they jad was the OOOO-ing instruments. I don't know much, but I think it's been done justice.

Why didn't they remake FF4, FF5 and FF6 with this engine and bring over all the bonuses that previous versions had and the ability to change the soundtrack between the original SNES, arranged DS/PSP for FF4 and the fully orchestrated Pixel Remaster score to go with? For a fan project, this looks amazing. I would blow $60 on each remake too if they were released on the Switch, PS4/PS5 and XB1/XBSX physically.
All the 2D games being remade in this art style would be amazing but it fits FF6 especially perfectly. My only concern is Square might only want this art style to stay unique to Octopath Traveler. And if that’s the case, that’s such a waste of great potential.
@Tom Ffrench I’d just be concerned if they remade it in 3D, they’d ruin it with an action-oriented combat system. Wish they’d realize not every new FF game needs to be action RPG.
