If done correctly, A Final Fantasy VI remake could be the best videogame ever made.
Yeah but seeing how games in general these days I changed my mind on that. I say this as someone who once really dug the idea of a remake. I appreciate this game too much to have it tainted forever by a botched attempt. Sometimes gems need to stay buried in the ground.
@@saulghim2661 I wholeheartedly agree. Things have changed enough in the past year that any attempt to remake this game would go really really badly.
Maybe one day in the future videogames will be in a good spot again, but now is not the time.

Having never played a final fantasy game before, I can honestly say this song makes me want to cry a little because it is so beautiful.

+TheYellowTwelves play final fantasy 3 is simple straightforward and has the elements of all the final fantasy mythos the summons the class the chocobo magic the crystal etc it's extremely easy that can be finish by day one then you can play final fantasy 6 or 4 then 7 then 9

This version is magnificent.
This pre-amble sounded like the opening score of an adventurous/dangerous movie from the 80s or 90s. I was instantly reminded of a film called The Edge

Hearing this theme as an orchestral version is very different compared to the original, no doubt. What I think I really like about this, is that is has a very operatic prelude quality. Considering that, the more I think about about it, the more the story does have a very Wagner Opera thing going on about it

This is gorgeous as with other remixes but nothing tops the original Super Famicom OST. Nothing delivers the magic of those midis that moved you to tears as a kid.
technically they are not midis. midis are a specific electronic music format used mainly on IBM compatibles and professional music equipment (even to this day, as they are good for creating an electronic mock up of an orchestral piece etc.) Sorry for being picky.

Yep. A FFVI remake would have made way more sense than FFVII. Imagine how amazing a modern graphics version of the opera scene would be...
and they would redo the music, which to me, was perfect already in the original format. Also I think the sprite art was at its peak ffVI. Be very hard to beat in terms of quality.
+Daniel Scarpaci (Meserion) If the new music was similar to the hd version of FFX I would be very very happy. You're right about the sprites though; it really doesn't get any better in the 16 bit era. I do think a couple of tweaks to the esper system could improve gameplay though.
I guess the problem is that square probably can't be trusted to do it the way they should. You can almost guarantee they'd want to do an episodic release with different characters' backstories as an episode or similar stupid shit.

i tried this game for the first time deep into ps3 era and i was a bit worried that it would be a bit outdated for my tastes, but no. some things are just classics and rightfully so.

Ok SMALL nitpick but i always felt the orchestral version felt a bit too rushed. so once you hit 1:45 try slowing down the speed to 0.85 on the playback speed. The slower drawn out instruments makes this feel SO MUCH MORE EPIC! Please try and and reply to me what you think.

An HD remaster, or something similar to what was done with it in Final Fantasy Anthologies.
Although, I would like to see it with the versions of the music Uematsu had always intended.

Both are correct. The game was released in April 1994, and the orchestral album was released in May of the same year.

God, why doesn't Hollywood--or SOMEbody else--come out with a FF6 movie using this music?!! BTW, I've had it up to HERE (patting bottom of jaw with back of hand) with superhero movies, esp. Disnarvel ones!!! Yeah, okay, I know they'd just screw it up--but I guess I can still dream, can't I?

I never beat this game, I prefer others in the series, however this track is undeniably one of the best in the entire franchise, even to someone who lacks the nostalgia and personal attachment to FF6.
This version reminds me of Princess Mononoke for some reason
It's beautiful and all but I think it's a little too much and takes away from what the theme really is
When the main theme starts, I hate it. Do not like this rendition at all. The prologue was excellent, the follow up main theme was pure letdown for me.

i am genuinely curious as to how this version is lacking in any way, shape, or form in your mind. Like seriously, no sarcasm here.
I just did not like it; because i heard this song for so many years in so many different versions, but all of them kinda "respected" the original, I feel like this version didn't. The parts i expected to be 'heavier' were lighter, and vice-versa, also in some parts my ears wanted to hear a faster rythm but they played it slower. Although it was played by perfect instrumentists and incredible sound quality, i did not like this version.
