just gonna drop a momtembeault appreciation comment, .933 against a team that got 7 PPs and pulled goalie at the end for a 6-on-4. if he keeps it up he'll be a star, and i have no doubts because he's just continuing from the tail-end of last year.
That was the 32 team in the standing last year , just wait .
@@JasonBlackburn_02We were 28 last year up from 32 in 2021-22.
Allen was all class also. He knew Montembeault was the true nomber ☝️ .
Monty worked with Carey Price and Paul Byron last summer before he went to the WC and won Gold with Team Canada.
@@user-uu8zw6ek8w I could have won gold playing goalie for team canada be serious
These Canadien are much faster out there than last year.
They kinda looked a little like the old Blackhawks Kane and Toevs era!

Hats off to the two canadiens that blocked the last 2 shots...both painful AF you can tell.
Blue Buckets
You can hear matheson scream
A little too close for comfort but a win is a win, I loved seeing Pearson get his first goal and Monahan getting the game winner with a shorthanded goal.
exactly, get that 2 pts any way you can!
IDK why they make this an important part of their game, but Montreal always been dangerous shorthanded!
Hope Dach is okay, Matheson after the massive shot block. Penalty kill was good. Wait until Tuesday against the Wild at home.
Caufield's goal was so impressive, goes for the backhand but then hits the rebound in mid-air to secure the first goal. Absolute beauty! 3:45
Slafkovsky improved in both speed and accuracy
Wasn't his best game... i think he was nervous to play in front of the fans. That's okay, he had a decent game.
Caufield is magnificient. he is THE one.
Keanu Reeves would be proud.
So would Morpheous
I hope Dach's injury isn't serious.

I hope so but he'd injury for now but I expect him to be out for like 2-3 months
6:33 Announcer: “Bedards trying to get back” lol I’m not sure what game this announcer was watching but Bedard was in full coast mode watching the Canadiens pickup a short handed goal on the breakaway. Back-checking isn’t one of his strengths.
those last blocked shot by the canadiens, such grit they played fantastic this game
Blackhawks looks too have many things too improve upon. However, Mrazek looked really good, depsite the goals he let in, I fel he did a stellar job.
Mrazek was great.. if not, it could have easily been 5-0 Habs at one point. But Monty wasn't too bad either!
Some of those high glove saves on shooters with way too much time were pure magic. Mrazek is finding his groove again
That third goal looked like he just let it slide through
Mrazek is in his top form again
Mrazek looked terrible. He gave up 2 soft goals. It was the same as his first game. Even if you go off his xGA he is still below average.
Man tough game for Mrazek not just shot quantity, but alot of high quality chances from MTL.
Mrazek looks sharp this year. Not the guy i watched when he was playing for the Leafs.
Habs Fans and the Bell Centre are unmatched. Might not be this year but when playoffs come back to MTL it will be insane!
Fastest paced game I have seen so far. Montreal is looking great. Love caufield and berdard
Great game from Danault I mean Monahan
Danault was a legend in the dot
@@sup4303Yes he was but Monahan won 87% of his faceoffs last night.
@@user-uu8zw6ek8w Yes, we need him to be consistent
What a game that looked to be a true original six battle! What a first period speed…
LOL the 2 worst teams in the NHL looked like an original six because 50-100 years ago the players were terrible just like the Habs of today so I guess you're spot on.
A fun game to watch.
Monty played like a #1
YES he DID!
he's amazing. it's like having price back in net, some of those saves were magical
@@least.insane.femboyLol relax, but yeah he played a good game.
@@Brazz27 he was .933, that's pretty stellar for how many PPs chicago got
@@least.insane.femboy That's what I said, he had a very good game. But it's still only one game. We should wait AT LEAST 30 games to even mention Price as a comparaison point.
Монреаль , с победой !!!🇨🇦 !!!
Caufield looking hella good out there
Talk about leading by example. Both Suzuki (C) and Matheson (A) sacrifice their bodies hardcore to ensure the win.
praying for Monahan full season🙏 dude is very capable
Man Monty was looking crisp!
THE SOUND OF THE CROWD IS INSANE IN MONTREAL! - A LEAFS FAN
Very close at the end :/ sadly couldn't pull another comeback but need to get on the board earlier! Congrats to Johnson on two goals but the Habs were just the better team tonight
Geez the HABS?!
They are good.
Pre-season games did not have the digital ads on the boards and I was hoping that would continue...
Fabulous hockey game from start to finish. Then you add in that it's the original 6, on Saturday night in Montreal. Il n'y a rien de tel que le hockey à Montréal.
Wow… what a fun fast game!
6:27 Bedard's missed shot was a killer ! Those are always so dangerous at this level because those missed wrap around the boards shots spring the once in defensive zone team on a full steam ahead rush. No to overly critique the rookie but when he missed that shot, he had no awareness that he needed to back check to try and break up the breakaway goal. He needed to atleast attempt to beat Monahan there !
Best highlight edits thanks 👍🙏
Montreal is very good in penalty kill
But they should be more disciplined on the ice
@@vithursan.bTbf those penalties were soft af.
Habs pk is weak, look what happened vs Toronto

Thanks Sportsnet!!
i'm pretty sure Bedard's shot has lead to more goals against that he has for so far...
All I can say that Montreal is in Beast mode today.
The Hawks are not good but Mrazek is a straight up G.
Well he cost them a win here.
Montreal will boo every single player on any team if they are talked about or made some impact in a game. It's getting into the teams and players head.
It's been a strategic maneuver for years for any team.
Montreal just does it better and is savage as hell.
Yea I feel it rattled an inexperienced guy like Bedard and he was trying to do too much and play hero ball
yeah, seams to work very well for them... except they've been trash for years.
@@wefishnationso trash that they went to the Stanley Cup finals a few years ago.

Bedard getting so much glazing for a secondary assist is like me getting a promotion at work for passing someone a coffee filter for the coffee machine.

Harvey-Pinard is a menace in the PK! 🤌
why are these replays always in 720p? what year is this?
Because the games are recorded in 720p. Most TV cameras are from the beginning of the HD Era.
Keep Monty rolling in net
Mrazek playing the best hockey of his career still gotta have that second one and probably the first one too
What a Hockey game! Back and forth all night at top speed, both goaltenders playing great. This was my first chance to see Bedard play and he didn't disappoint! He is going to be a great player!
But I was really impressed with the Canadiens! The whole team played great! Arber Xhekaj played a fabulous game anchoring the Canadiens blueline! He has improved immensely!
But it was a total team effort that earned the win against a pretty good looking Blackhawk team!
Also, 🥂🥂 to the refs! They called a good game! 👍👏
my opinion 🦂
*Didn't See The Game*
But it looked like Murphy & #55 had a tuff night?
*Seth banged 1-off the* *post in the closing seconds 😮*
Good game for Montreal but they need to learn how to keep a lead to win. They kind of fell apart at the end there
They'll need a different coach to learn that, I'm afraid. St. Louis is great at getting them to believe that they're never 'out of a game'. But he's pretty awful at teaching them how to play with a lead. 😞
Well, the other team had 7 power plays and pulled the goalie twice. I think they did a decent job holding on
@@tonylloy327 don't think their getting rid of Louis anytime soon. They have tons of coaches. It's not just st Louis who needs to figure it out
It's a second year coach with one of the youngest team in the NHL, let's chill a bit before we try to get rid of MSL
Came as close as you can get to blowing another one. They *do* have to learn to play with the lead. And again, I didn't see the coaching staff drawing up anything for the players on key D zone face-offs down the stretch. Just putting out the next line and saying "don't get scored on" won't cut it.
Because people are whining about bedard being 'booed' 1. Its hockey 2. Its chirping you guys are getting soft. 3. We boo Matthews why cant we boo bedard? 3. We were getting into bedards head stop being so soft guys😂
We boo people who did us wrong. Bedard did nothing wrong. You're not a Montréal fan.
@@JoeBine77We boo all superstars in the league. I don't like it either but that's what we been doing for years. It's nothing personal at all.
@@JoeBine77 It's psych warfare from the fans against the perceived best player or a player that has a bad history with the Habs. It's pretty standard stuff really and it definitely worked on Bedard if you watched the game.

Bedard should have 10 goals already and a cup win. What a bust
9 PP Chances and nothing. A soft 2nd apple. How much u wanna bet he takes a trip down to the AHL this season?

Didnt Bedard play this game?
Poor Mrázek
“Connor Bedard” that names going to be known for many many years!!! love the kid seen him with rollerblades and a stick 3/4 years ago in mid summer he was grinding!!
I wish they would stop slobbering all over Bedard. Let him do something and prove himself first. Too much hype. Setting him up for disappointment.
You gotta give it the Hawks for keeping that pace and effort. That eas CLOSE ! Jones rang iron on that one timer and the got a couple more blasts of in the last few seconds....even though it was 6 on 4
The Hawks really don’t quit, nor did they last year. Kudos to Luke Richardson and the team. Bedard is going to have to put the puck in the net if they want to win these type of games though. They really lack scorers.
They had 9 powerplays and couldn't score. The score doesn't reflect the game. Habs dominated.
I feel that the Chi Blackhawks goal to get within one and attempting to get the tying goal afterwards was never too late since no third period lead is safe anymore.

With Danny Wirtz in charge, I believe the Rocky Wirtz legacy will return. The Blackhawks will return to the NHL elite.
LOL you can never just listen to a Habs game can you? The fans cheer so hard every time they touch the puck it sounds like a goal, meanwhile the guy is skating out of his zone haha
In my opinion Connor Bedard had better line mates on the Canadian World Junior Team than what he has with the Blackhawks right now. They were far more superior skill wise than his Chicago Blackhawks. People says he’s a bust are just jealous and forgotten how bad Montreal Canadians were when they were at the beginning of their rebuild. I feel like every team is going after Bedard because he is the best player they’ve got. I hope Connor Bedard will succeed and shut you all up. Honestly what do you people have against him? I don’t think anyone of you can do as well as him with all the scrutiny that he has been living through. He’s very young and he will find his way!
why were the fans buzzing when Bedard was with the puck
Montreal fans always do that to star players. Trying to get in the player's head. It's probably more a compliment than anything.
Slaf is best give him more ice time
