You don’t look crazy at all, your hair actually looks so good. Like if your hair ever accidentally shrinks again u should try and style it that way. It makes you looks so young.

Since my hair is at and past bra length I’ve learned to embrace my shrinkage. It keeps my hair at my chin so it’s not rubbing my clothes and therefore enduring breakage.

I don’t “moisturize” with water either. I think the belief that our hair needs steaming, spritzing or wetting on a regular basis is misguided. My hair feels more moisturized when I’m *not* wetting it. I unbraid, finger detangle with oil, aloe vera gel, and conditioner once a week and re-braid it. I don’t wear added hair as a protective style or at all, by the way. I will usually add a couple of spritzes of water during the detangling process, but only to make things easier. Aside from that, I wet it when I wash it. 💜
correct me if I'm wrong but aren't conditioner and aloe vera gel water based? So aren't you still moisturising with products where water is the main ingredient?

This is bad advice. Water is the best moisture for you. Cream and oil coat your hair by sitting on top of the strands. That’s not the same as moisturizing tho. Plz do research.
@@dejstoney one has to remember, water eventually evaporates leaving the area dry. I get more moisture using a water based product alone and then dealing with castor oil or Shea butter. Camille Rise Almond Jai with Alikay Naturals she’s butter work very well together. 😉

I noticed you did very little, in terms of moisturizing, to your scalp; your main focus seems to be on your hair strands.
As healthy hair quality begins at the roots, I'm curious to know if you ever, at any time period, apply natural oils ie Ayervedic oils, Jojoba, Vitamin E, Coconut oil etc, once or twice a month minimum?
Your hair loss is perfectly normal, in proportion to how much hair you have.
As you know, we regularly lose hair every day, but because you leave your hair in a protective style for 1-2 months, it will naturally accumulate and may seem alarming to others, but if you combed it out each day, your hair loss would amount to just enough to line the bottom of a comb...normal.
I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to see the hard work and loving care you give to your hair, your rewards are bountiful!

When I first saw your hair shrunken i thought what the hell she complaining about and then you showed it stretch and I was like 😲😲😲🥵🥵 . I like seeing it too! I tend to like to compare how much hair I lose to others to figure out if I’m taking good enough care of my hair. My hair is the type that needs a lot of moisture so when I shed more I can usually tell that I’m not moisturizing enough. Looking at what other’s shed gives me an idea of a general amount my hair should be shedding
@@NaturalAcademia Thanks for keeping it real. When I first started on my natural hair journey, and watching different YT videos who didn't show any shed hair. It made me think that my hair was damaged and breaking off. I bought products to help stop it only to realize that shedding is NORMAL.

I’m like you. Wash day is all day. I have to take breaks. Sometimes, I divide it into two days. My hair is in 14 sections.
It’s the finger detangling that takes forever. But I flat iron my hair now and then. Lately, it’s every two years. I’m due sometime between Feb. - Apr. 2022. 💜

I wissh we could get these products in South Africa!!! We just have some of the big brands like Shea Moisture, Cantu, Aunt Jackie and they just started importing Mielle (but the products for straighter hair 🙄)

It was a twist out and I used Palmers olive oil + the TGIN daily moisturizer.
