re: the waves plugins, recently experienced the same issue. there is an option in Waves Central to get the legacy installers for V9 and prior, you can access the legacy installers via this page: www.waves.com/downloads/v9

How did you make those aggressive basses?
The instrument you’re thinking of... I think...is a Brazilian instrument called the quica. You rub the stick that is attached at one end to the drum head and it makes a sound like a chimp.
Are there any things to do with phase to look out for when using 96db curves in pro Q? Or is the only downside of it the unnaturalness of such a sharp cut? its tempting to use very sharp cuts separate overlapping elements all the time. also what sort of delay settings do you have on the crash? It sound so nice how it sort of sustains for a long time without sounding like its being struck again like an init delay might sound
