The kilohearts multi pass seems like a pretty cool plugin. Can’t you essentially do the same thing in ableton? just make a effects rack with three multiband compressors and solo each band. Then you can put whatever effects you want on each band.
it's even easier, there's a signal splitter rack somewhere out there using eq's and negative phase eq's (don't ask me how it works) multiplier has a tutorial on it.
But yeh, you can do it with ableton as well. However, ease-of-use and oversight is also worth something. Maybe there's a M4L plugin that does the same as multipass
