    SWFLHoops.com - The game ended in forfeit after the player from Desoto County High School in Arcadia, FL attacked the referee after being issued a technical foul and was ejected from the game. The player has been banned from all extracurricular school activites according to the coach, suspended till January 10th as of now, and a police report has been filed. However, the official involved chose not to press charges at this time.
    Please do not let the actions of one teenager generalize the future potential actions of other individuals. This individual obviously made a bad decision. However, there has not been any other on the court incidents by other team members that we have knowledge of, and this player just transferred into the school this season. Therefore please do not unfairly associate his actions with the other players on the team. We posted the video because it is newsworthy but not with the intentions of it branding a team, coaches, school, county or area in the same light. We feel that the school, coaches, and anyone involved handled this very well, as it could have escalated even further but did not.

      Speaking as a referee, there is no way the other officials are going to lay hands on the player. Your job is to observe, in case any other players get involved and to allow the coaches to handle it. Speaking as a coach, you probably don’t expect your player to do something like that in the first place. You’ll notice how the coach immediately came on to the court after the first shove and started hustling after his player when the player kept going for the official. That’s how it’s supposed to be done.

      +Jude Nathan yeah parents are scared of their own kids these days. If you use physical discipline then the kids can just say it is child abuse and the parents can be locked up. and verbal discipline does not work unless it is started at a young age. When I was growing up there were no shootings in schools or gang related activity in schools. now it is everywhere. A new shooting every week, young parents that were not taught birth control are killing their kids because they want to be 16 (their real age). Kids killing their parents because they take their video games away. It is a scary world we live in.

    • @outworlddragoon
      @outworlddragoon Před 8 lety

      +Sean Mounts does not matter if the ref said something or not. physical violence should never be accepted unless you are defending yourself. yeah birth control. sex is going to happen. its nature, hormones are raging and its everywhere, music, tv, friends etc etc. so birth control is the logical step... even if only 10% listen.

After the whistle, he shoves the opponent, which is probably what got him the tech and the ejection. We also do not know if this player had been called for similar to what happened at 1:24. Maybe he had already received a tech earlier in the game. Ejection comes automatically with a 2nd tech.
