My mother passed away yesterday.she was my best friend, and one thing I've learned, especially now, is that family is everything. Make family a priority, always. Never put things off til later and always try to include someone special in your life.

I always carry two containers. 1 has matches that will light anywhere. 2nd is a duplicate container that has cotton balls saturated with vaseline. That is how I start fires while camping. The containers are orange and available in any sporting store. Get the largest size available.
When the time comes Nikki, you WILL meet that special someone who will not just accept your way of life, they will enhance it. Hopefully it will happen for you.

The other girl found her match. I can’t think of her name right now. But they traveled in two vans for a few yrs then they got together, traveled in two vans, went separate ways for a while then back together. Then they got married. Now Thry are having a baby. Thry are so cute and so happy. Her preg is a risk. Not sure why.
Best fire starter ever and you probably have it already.... cotton balls and Vaseline, dip half the cotton ball in Vaseline, you don't need flame, That lighter that you had has enough spark to ignite it. The cotton will take off and the Vaseline will keep it going for many minutes. I carry pill bottles of it with me and have so since I learned the trick from an old Eskimo 50 years ago. My wife Nicole and I recently adopted two German Shepherds from our local shelter. 2 year old male and female we call Bro and Sis. Dogs provide such wonderful companionship. Love that you understand the importance of asking questions.

Watch your tongue. The dog's reaction to its father and friend is different. The mother will be a much better “quality analyzer” of relationships. And, most importantly, this friend’s mother. It is incorrect to ask dogs.

I've been following your fantastic videos for quite some time. It was very honest and brave of you to share your thoughts about relationships and dating. I spent almost my entire life on my studies in order to win a scholarship to pursue a PhD abroad. Fortunately, I achieved my lifelong goal, and now I'm in the last year of my PhD in Italy. I also feel that finding a partner is essential for me now. I could relate to your feelings in this video. I hope to see another great and inspiring video from you in the future.
May I suggest for a backup fire starting kit, get yourself a ferro rod flint and some of those firelighters (that white stuff). The ferro rod doesn't need and fuel, it just makes a spark using friction and then the firelighters will get you going from there :).

Do you ever run into any ham radio operators doing Parks on the Air? They take their radios to state and national parks and contact people all around the world just using radio waves. It is a cool and fun hobby that fits the van lifestyle quite nicely!
We do that at our National Parks once a year and it is super fun making contacts with other stations in South Africa. A portable station is loads of fun. My call sign is ZS2ZA and my profile is on QRZ.COM.

Also, I'm also such a question asker type of person. I have the same dream, open up an alternative dwelling type spot (think traditional huts, tiny houses, yurts, camp spots, spots for vans, buses, etc) on the wild coast or garden route in South Africa 🇿🇦 some of the most beautiful views you can get in my opinion and often very remote and without phone signal, so perfect for disconnecting and being able to reset 💚🐢

Yes relationships are difficult to maintain when you are a nomad, I think the ones that seem to work come from those which started off in a more home based situation and become nomads together.
But living in such close quarters can be stressful and it can strain the closest of relationship.
I think the only real happiness comes from being happy with yourself and not needing anyone else in a permanent relationship.

Nice to hear you share your feelings about relationships. God will bring you the perfect person to share your life with. I did lots of solo trips for years and I felt lonely after meeting nice people, then saying goodbye. After getting married and having kids, we bought old vans and converted them into basic camping vans. We went on month long cross country trips every year for 18 years. It was a hoot. Never lonely. Since we traveled for 4-5 weeks at time, we never got on each others nerves. When we returned home, I always missed the 4 of us cuddling together at night, watching movies, and seeing cool places! We bought a 7 acre place in the Ozarks and it feels like camping everyday. The 2 boys moved out and I miss them! We have chickens, geese, guinea hens, 1 dog and and 1 cat.

I was a solo Female Nomad adventuring for years. I became extremely ill and mostly bed-bound and disabled. I had to stop. But I still live in my RV although I don't travel. I have a scruffy Service Dog who is my best friend. I was so moved by your comment. I hope you will share with me what happened

Congrats on finding someone worth putting in your videos. That says a lot about who he is and where y'all are. I have questions about staying healthy on the road. I'm going to be taking off in my minivan soon and I want to eat as healthy and exercise as much as possible. I'm going to be doing mostly urban camping so I will have a gym available, some of the time, at least, but I'm wondering about how to eat healthy and how to ensure I get enough movement throughout the day since I don't have a dog.

That is not normal for anybody, whether they're living in a house or in their vehicle. And advising someone you don't know to carry a lethal weapon is reckless. You don't know my mental state, you don't know how I react in an emergency, you don't know my prior trauma history, you don't know what type of traveling I plan to do, and you don't know if I have the time or ability to be trained on carrying and firing a weapon. Keyboard warriors on the Internet intentionally generating fear with their boogie men behind every bush stories are one of the main reasons unarmed people are getting killed but armed cowards who were "in fear of their lives." Stop it. I've lived in my vehicle, and been a part of the vanlife community, for almost 17 years - this is just my first nationwide road trip - and I've only met one person who actually needed to defend themselves with a gun - one in a thousand.

I am so close to becoming a fulltime RVer in my truck, raft and Airstream, and as a single person wonder about meeting someone. I think you are absolutely correct about the freedom and roaming, and that everyone is roaming according to their own agenda - so I am glad you discussed the topic. Thank you. Having said that, I think the best chance of meeting someone compatible is being on the road - like-minded people. I am sooooo ready to hit the road!

It's the same aspect in the thru hiking community, you meet some of the most amazing people all.of thr world, different part of the states, you hiked with them for 5-6 months and you really get to know each, some of them becomes your bestfriends and then the journey ends and yea some might be easily to reach but some lives across the country so there's that bittersweet goodbye in the end.
Social media really do help keep in touch with the friends you make along the way.

I’m 27 and I lived in a van full time for 2 years and dating was definitely hard. Especially because of todays wants and needs and ppls desire to have a steady partner with a good income. Especially when people are quick to judge. But I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. Especially after seeing what you actually need in life vs just want to have. I’m not living in the van anymore but it’s still my getaway machine always ready to rock. My goal in life is to open up a mini campground with small cabins and places for vans to park.
