- Mann Theatres' swingin' late-70s through mid-80s Our Feature Presentation and Tuesday Bargain Day Trailer, transferred from 35mm film projected on a Century "JJ". Special Thanks to 'Panaflex'!
In case anyone is interested, these particular copies came from the Arapahoe Village 4 and Fox Theater, both in Boulder, Colorado. The Fox is currently a music venue and the Arapahoe Village theater is long gone (strip mall still there I believe). - Věda a technologie
was looking for this gem for a long time. Used to play it on the piano when I'd get home from the movies!
Ha! you sound even crazier than I am!
I’m nostalgic for the old theater in Valencia. Good seeing you Jeff.
This immediately preceded my first screening of "Empire" and "Raiders". So classic.
You were a projectionist?
If these were in 16:9, were those 2 films still presented in their cinemascope aspect ratios?
This took me back to my childhood! Early 80s!!
Boy does this bring back memories!!!
Wow, memories. Thank you.
Okay the song they're using fyi is "Presentation" by Jack Trombey, recorded in 1973 from an album called "World Power".
WOW! SUPER MEGA THANKS! I never had even a glimmer of hope of finding out the source of this music. Nice surprise!
This must be at least 35 years old. I remember seeing these as a teenager.
Been looking for this for a while...thank you!
Looking for this for 40 years. Raiders of Lost Ark. Dragonslayer. Krull. Clash of the Titans.
I worked back and forth between the Alex and the Glendale Twin in Glendale CA. Wednesday was bargain night there. I always managed ro get scheduled on bargain night 😮 Celebs used to travel a ways to go to those theatres because we had a good reputation for treating them right and without fuss or recognition. Actor Joseph Campanella told me that. Never thought I'd hear this jingle again 😂
Campanella is one of my favorites
Memories!
I remember this well, use to go to Mann Theater Chapel Hills Mall Colorado Springs.
Great memories! I remember watching movies at Mann in the early 80's at the Oceanside, CA location....I ended up working there from '88-'93.
Me too. Your talking about the three screen theater near the Carlsbad Mall. I saw Star Wars there back in 1967. Crazy!
You're not Your
@@mokthemagicman you mean 1977 ?
@@TheWarlordNinja Yeah. I mean 1977. lol.
going to another level with this diamond
Mann Theaters was at two different points in history, co-owned by Paramount and Warner Bros. - 1987-97, and for a few years in the 2000s
From 1990, Warner Bros. was part of Time Warner, and from 1994, Paramount was part of Viacom.
Those two companies jointly owned the cable channel Comedy Central from 1991-2003, it is now fully owned by ViacomCBS.
One film based on a Comedy Central series, South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, was a joint production of Paramount and Warner Bros., as their parent companies were still joint owners of the network in the film's release year of 1999.
Disney/Buena Vista was one of the companies who had its films released at select Mann Theaters
Upload the opening to DuckTales The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp 1990 Mann Theatres Edition
1. Mann Theatres Feature Presentation
2. 1990 Walt Disney Pictures Logo (shortened variation)
I saw this as A kid in the 1980s, Cool.
My town had one of these (Toledo, OH) during the 70's.
I'm still trying to find the Policy Trailer from this era that has no announcer. Only this fanfare.
I remember seeing this before the start of Transformers: The Movie (1986) at Mann 6 Plaza Bonita Mall in National City in August of 1986
Do you have the Policy Trailer with this fanfare? There is the slightly later one online, but I loved the Policy one with this music.
Oh my god, Mann Co. owned cinemas?
Quiet everyone raiders of the lost ark is about to begin
What year did Mann Theatres (approximately) start using this?
+tvmattkc I don't know exactly but my impression is this appeared about a year after Star Wars, so 1978-79. I do know they stopped using it in 1986-87.
+bluesun267 I wish I knew if Mann Theatres used an older "Feature Presentation" logo prior to this...did they?
Imagine trying to get into Grauman's Chinese for a buck on Tuesday now! O_O
Who made the music
does anybody know if this is on 16mm or Super 8 I would love to use this in my home theater, If not I can just video project it before my show's, Thanks
This film is not in the 16mm and 8mm movie formats. This is on 35mm film format.

So great... but it begs the question- what a--hole would downvote this?!?
Probably a disgruntled former Mann Theatres concession associate;) (they were a pretty awful company actually, this snipe is about the only nice thing they ever did, IMO)
