The “man she’s really ugly” comment was SO GOOD to hear. Newborns are so odd looking when they first come out and it made me feel soooo much better about having the same thought! I’ve never heard anyone else say that about their baby but I swear we all have to think it for the first few minutes. 😂
Im due in a month and I always worried people will judge me because Im pretty sure Im gonna think he is ugly at first but the cutest all at the same time. So I love hearing people say their baby was ugly at first because they are!!!! Lol
@@chantalwood5788 girl you think whatever you want about your baby you’ve carried him. They come out looking crazy 😂 I am 38 or 39 weeks (due dates off) and had a 3D ultrasound today, his face was all squished together, I know that’s not what he’s gonna look like in a couple months after birth lol. And this is my miracle baby after a loss. Us mommas can think what we want, they’re gonna be precious after they come out and have been in the world for a minute. But if you’ve already had him I hope your birth went smooth and everything went good ❤️❤️
That was hilarious
I love how humble you both are about your experiences - even as medical professionals. I know this will enrich the way you care for women and children in the future. Many congratulations to you - looking forward to following along your journey!
Hey Faith!
why wouldn't a drug dealer be humble? just cause she wears a white coat? humility doesn't make you something special. it means you're doing the bare minimum to not be a delusional ass. lol
why shouldn't a medical professional be humble? they're body technicians and drug dealers, mainly.
I'm 37 weeks. Thank you for this vid and the dad experience.
it was funny when the dad said baby girl looked odd at first because I thought she looked just like him 😂😂😂 but I think she was adorable !! Her little tongue sticking out so cute
I cannot tell you how many times I have shared this comment with family and friends because it is sooo funny and true! Everyone agrees she looks JUST like her dad-they call her baby Kurty!!😂
She does look like dad! I have heard babies look like their dads to help the dads bond with their baby.
I thought the same thing! Right when he said I thought she'd be more attractive than that, a close up of her face came up and I was like, that's his nose. Then I registered what he said and lol'd 😆
@@thayerwilliams905 Yep she definitely has Dad's nose lol.
When I heard her cry I started bawling. 4 months pregnant and hormones are raging!! Congratulations you guys!! She's so beautiful 🎀🎀🎀
I’m not pregnant and I bawled too!! 💗
7 months here and same 😭🥰
I'm 9 weeks and I completely feel that 😉
Im 26 wks pregnant and i cried too 😂
Im almost 4 months and bawled too 😭
Wife and I are 7 weeks along, and we had a vulnerability session last night where we both vocalized our fears and worries and just cried on each other’s shoulder. Seeing Kurt holding her brought tears to my eyes-it just makes me remember how much I love my wife and my soon to be baby.
I cried watching this. I’m 37 weeks pregnant and I hope and pray for a safe delivery and a healthy baby. This was such a positive video. I truly needed to watch this right now. My labor fears are going through the roof right now. This isn’t my 1st pregnancy but my last was a stillborn. He was a baby boy and we lost him at 7months pregnant.
I hope everything went well! ❤️
I'm so, so sorry for the loss of your little baby boy. I hope this new baby heals some of those wounds.
Condolences on your loss. Praying a safe, healthy labor & delivery for you and a looong, joyful life for baby🙏🏾
Condolence for your loss and I hope you and your new baby are safe and sound. Pregnancy should really be a private time, but it is made so uncomfortably public. Anything can happen right up to the last minute but everyone assumes.
“He did this to you. I should get to hold the baby first.” 😂😂😂
The man does not DO anything to the woman. When they have intercourse, the man does not ejaculate a developed a Baby. He only ejaculates sperm. She then delivers the baby.
The very important egg, in this whole equation, is fertilized by his sperm. The union of the two causes conception.
She conceives in her womb. The baby grows in her womb . She is then pregnant. The man is never pregnant.
But the husband often acts like a spoiled bsb C when his wife is pregnant and give birth. He tries to get everyone to feel sorry for him. He needs to fall back and let his wife be the woman. You know how you people, shame wives all the time and tell wives to not nag and let him be a man?
Well it goes both ways. ..so now let us tell husbands to let her be the woman....and tell him to stop whining and nagging during her pregnancy and chilfbirth.
Let your wife explain HER pregnancy and birth. Stop interrupting.
@@Yraur Everyone knows that, it’s a joke. You seem like you’re fun at parties 😂
He did not do this to her. She got herself pregnant as a result of them having intercourse. She conceives.
You people give men the wrong brag, the wrong credit.
A man can not get a woman pregnant
..because the man does not ejaculate an already formed baby, into her womb. He Brings a sperm that's all, and she brings an egg. It is an act that is complete.
Get some knowledge people.learn biology. Stop saying the same worn out sentence, that lies and that elevates s man, saying a man supposedly gets a woman pregnant. He does not . He can not.
@@Yraur bro what is wrong with you…
@@Yraur bro relax & learn to take a joke
I wish I could pull my baby myself like what she did.. God is so amazing!
He sure is!
That birth was amazing to watch. The whole birth team looked so confident in their role. Like everyone was in control and knew what they needed to do. Love it! Congratulations Sarah and Kurt. You’re little girl is just beautiful
Aww thank you so much. Our birth team was AMAZING and we trusted them wholeheartedly--something that I think is critical when picking out your OB!!
@@TheDoctorsBjorkmanat big hospitals even if you pick your OB there’s no guarantee they’ll be in that day because there’s so many doctors 😭I’ve already been told multiple times there’s a good chance my OB I’ve seen the whole time won’t be there and it’s someone I’ve never met. So not always the case
Please talk more about breastfeeding. All the information you have learned.
Yes pleaseee
"Yeah I'm not that sore" didn't get the love it deserved lol
I actually laughed out loud when he dropped that little gem of a line 😂😂
🤣
I laughed.
I’m watching this while in the hospital getting ready to have my baby boy ☺️
Wishing you a safe delivery☺️
Wishing you a safe delivery☺️
Congratulations. Hope you have a safe delivery and healthy baby.
How is he?
Lucky u!!!😘
I also thought my newborn was ugly in the first hour of birth haha - I’ve never admitted that aloud! Then, it was all 😍😍😍
Mine had me so sick the whole pregnancy I could barely eat. So when he was born, he didn't have any baby fat on his body, at all. My first impression was He was kinda creepy looking at first. So that was my first thought about mine. :)
He's healthy looking now. He eat a lot as soon as he was out.
The vernix is always super gross to me. Nervous I’ll feel like throwing up or my husband won’t want to get it on his clothes cause he’s a neat freak lol. 😅
That is the most easy going and painless looking birth I’ve ever seen lol
Love this! As a postpartum nurse, I do feel like there is a hierarchy in the sub-specialties of OB (with postpartum being at the bottom). I love how she says that it doesn’t stop when baby is out and that postpartum is also important in the pregnancy timeline. It’s SO important to educate and support moms (and dads) in this transition
Postpartum nurses are awesome! Thank you for taking care of us and our babies ❤️❤️
maternal morbidity and mortality has RISEN STEEPLY in the usa over the past two decades due to crazy overuse of inductions and c sections.
If there's something I've loved up till this point of their journey is how they've been very honest about their struggles despite having college education on pregnancy and babies. As an anxious person it relieves me to know than no matter how much you research the experience itself is unique and it is better to be flexible and open as the adventure pregresses. Love this channel, thank you for giving us medical info and human insight about bringing a new life to this world ♥
I'm so happy for you both! I've been following your vlogs since you first announced you were expecting, it's so exciting too finally see your gorgeous little bub! Congratulations!
Love this and love how honest you both are about the whole experience.
Just watched this at 27 weeks and I have to say that as soon as I heard her come out screaming I started sobbing and it totally lasted through the end of the video. What a beautiful and amazing experience and thank you both so much for sharing this journey with us.
My husband said when my first little girl his first baby was born " oh my God look her eye are open already" 😂he was raised in and on a farm 💕 bless your heart sweetheart. She's not a puppy.
I am a newbie to the channel and I just watched when you confirmed your pregnancy and got the expression of your husband it was priceless it was magical. I feel like I missed everything I have to go back and look at all the old videos everything is so organic and natural I already love this channel.
I love how you share the perfect imperfections of being new parents. Remember it's worth every sleepless moment, every labor pain, the privilege we are given to be parents to a precious child are worth every moment of stress the little stinkers throw out direction. Just remember they don't come with care instructions and none of us are perfect.
I am Doctor as well, 26 weeks today. I really appreciated your honesty in this video guys. Thanks so much for sharing. Congratulations by starting this new, amazing journey and respecting your own needs during birth and parenting. The baby is so gorgeous. See u guys on your next video
poi: you are a PHYSICIAN unless you have a PhD, hun. saying you're a "doctor" is like saying your a "miss". that's a title, not an occupation. and unless you have an actual *doctorate*, as in graduate ed, then you are not "dr" anybody. check out 'rockefeller medicine' to learn how all this came about.
doctor isn't capitalized, and it's not an occupation. do you mean physician? anyone can claim to be that online. and it really doesn't matter. most women know more about this topic than your average white coat.
@@wildaf9519 The right word in english is physician you are right. But does it matter? I am brazilian physician working and living in Norway. I agree many women have alot of knowledge on this subject. But is also space and need for the work we do. And I think this channel provides alot of good information.
Thank you both so much for sharing your story. My daughter and son in law are expecting their first in a couple of months and your videos are helping them so much through this wonderful and scary time!
Congratulations on a very beautiful birthing story doctors! 🎉
I'm 37 weeks now and waiting to meet our baby boy, exciting times! I cried seeing your baby come out.
Your family is an inspiration 😊 keep safe always 💕
Crying from cecilia’s sweet birth - happy for you guys, congrats & you’re amazing parents already!
Oh my goodness! This video is the greatest! I truly “felt” the love you all shared. I have subscribed to your channel. I just love this! 💖 congratulations to you all!
Lovely story! Both are honest and that’s what every expecting mother needs to hear.
Congratulations Sarah and Kurt! She’s beautiful! Thank you for sharing your story!
I’m so excited for you guys! I’m 22 weeks pregnant with my first child and your videos have been so helpful to me along this journey. Thank you so much for providing such great content and information!!
Appreciate how candid you both are about the struggles and joys of birth and immediately postpartum. Its a wild wild ride. Filming and editing videos like this must be extremely time consuming (even without a new baby). I'm sure it also comes with a lot of unsolicited opinions and criticism. Hats off to you for sharing your experiences in this vulnerable time. You all are doing amazing.
Thank you so much! It is a WILDDDD ride with a very steep learning curve. We felt that we have learned so much, even as physicians, and hope that by sharing other people feel a little like they know what to expect/are prepared to buckle up for what is coming lol
I absolutely love that you guys shared this Jornery with us. Wow it was so special to watch. The whole way I watched your videos and to see your Baby girl was certainly emotional for me. Thank you again and really look forward to more of these. You guys are really awesome and such an inspiration to me. God bless yourl
Congratulations to you both. I love the supportive nature of you both.
Congratulations mama! I’m so happy for you and your beautiful family!
Thank you so much! I look forward to each episode.
Congratulations to you both! ♥️ I loved following your pregnancy and I can’t wait to follow your postpartum journey too! I subscribed before we even started trying with my partner and now I’m nearly in my second trimester 🥺 thank you for all the information you’ve been giving to me these past months ♥️
Wow. I’ve been watching these videos from you guys for a while now to prepare and I have to say the rawness of showing your delivery put me at so much ease. Like just seeing someone talk about and show us exactly what that moment looked like and felt like made this all seem less scary. I keep saying thank you but I honestly can’t thank you both enough for your channel. It’s just easing so much of my anxiety on my pregnancy journey. ❤
Wow such an amazing delivery... Congratulations to both of you!
I love how supportive you are of each other. Congratulations 🎊 to you both. ❤
Congrats! I'm expecting my 4th girl in less than 4 weeks. Epidurals are amazing and im in awe of those who do it without. My labors thankfully are quick, my first was 5 hours, second was 4 hours and third was 2.5 hours. Recovery also gets better with each one so I hope this one is quick and recovery is great.
Tears in my eyes while watching this video ! I’m glad that both of you look better than the last video ! Best wishes to all the three !
Thanks for sharing! I’m learning so much, you guys made me cry 💛
Thanks for sharing your journey! I had my first one over 17 years ago. We have been going through IVF for a year and half now, and fortunately have a successful transfer the second time, we are now little over 5 weeks pregnant.
Awww, Congratulations!! I went from watching your Get Pregnant FAST video from 9 months ago, where you guys were trying to get pregnant, to your Birthing Story video. Wow! I'm so happy for you guys.
I love your honesty, especially as it goes to show that all new parents have a learning curve…whether doctors or not lol. You guys are great! Congrats! She is beautiful ❤️
Thank you for your courage to share such emotional moments with the world. This is very helpful and I truly appreciate you guys.
17 weeks along here and watching her come into the world and you guys meeting her for the first time. I am bawling! I cannot wait for this moment. Thank you for sharing!!
I find it so beautiful that your sister was able to help catch your baby!!! Priceless!
I'm a few weeks out, your reactions to the baby are making me so excited
I love your videos!!!! I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant and in the era of influencers, the open and honest information/tips you’re providing as doctors is invaluable. Congrats on your baby!!! Looking forward to your postpartum tips ❤️🙏🏾
Congratulations!! You two look so happy telling your birth story 💙 it’s so sweet!
Wow, it’s amazing seeing you enjoying the moments right before she comes out. It truly seems like the epidural gave you the ability to totally enjoy it. I’m planning on a natural birth because medications affect me and I don’t like the way I feel with them. You really helped me to realize that if I absolutely need to go the epidural route it can be a totally positive thing! Thank you for that 💕💕
This is amazing to watch. You guys are going to be (already are) amazing parents.
Congratulations doctors!
Thank you so much for your videos i just found out I'm pregnant last week and your videos have been a huge help in mentally preparing! Congrats on your beautiful girl and best wishes on your recovery!!!😍💖💕
I just want to thank you for posting this video and your experiences as doctors. I did a very long labor and delivery process without an epidural with my first baby, because I was terrified of the epidural and having a C section. You had so much joy and agency during your delivery and it makes me think maybe I could do that too for my second. Thank you!
You guys are so humble and kind and it’s so nice to see from doctors in this field. Recently found out I’m pregnant and I’ve been loving your videos!
Omg when she poked her lips out and smirked I absolutely lost it. She’s so adorable, congratulations ❤️
You guys are the absolute dream team. She is so blessed to have you and you have her!
Thank you so so so much for sharing this footage. I’m preparing for labour soon and after experiencing a lot of dread/anxiety I had a revelation that I am ONLY going to read advice and view content from medical professionals. Your personal/professional experiences/
insights provide such reassurance, compared to so much of the content available which I know is often completely inaccurate (based on what my own OBGYN has told me) but still makes me feel terrified because I’m simply not an expert myself. Maybe there’s no need to be so scared! Thank you both again.
thank you for sharing your first moments with your baby
So beautiful to see dad's emotions while holding his new baby!!
I’m almost 38 weeks and this was awesome to watch ahead of what I have to expect. I don’t think my husband knows what to expect 😂 I started crying a little when she came out and started crying, what a beautiful journey
Thanks for sharing! This has completely transformed my understanding of delivery...I've always imagined it to be a horrific and chaotic scene but yours was so peaceful. I know it's a couple months late, but congratulations!
Congratulations! Breastfeeding is so much harder than you think it's going to be! I regret not going to a lactation consultant earlier - she helped me fix the latch and work on some different holds that helped us nurse past his first birthday.
I’m 4 weeks pregnant and this was so emotional for me. Thank you for sharing this. I have been thinking about labor and how it’s going to go and you really made me feel better about it. Thank you. I can’t wait to meet my sweet baby.
thank you both for all the tips u give us I'm currently 27 weeks with 2 days and soon I will need all this tips . love how humble you both are.. thank you I appreciate it. also congratulations and your bundle of joy.
What a beautiful story and the fact that you guys are Dr's makes it ao much more heartwarming and beautiful! I literally couldn't stop crying since the part of the photo before little girl was born! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ soooo beautiful to see everything and all of the emotions pour out! Soooo wholesome 😇😊
I love this so much! I’m getting closer to my due date and so excited! Thank you thank you thank you for sharing this!
Congratulations! We are due in another 56 days (who's counting? Not us). As a half-physician couple (me physician, him fintech) we love your no nonsense and real videos. My husband loves that you make things easy to understand and I love your insight into the system now as a patient. Can't wait for the next one.
Congratulations again.
As a retired nurse it was my pleasure to listen to your video. Thank you for sharing. I chuckled a couple of times. I think it's awesome that as Dr.s you are sharing & admit something's are not easy. Your precious daughter is adorable. Enjoy this time as it goes quickly. I am a new sub & excited to follow your journey.. may God bless your family with many wonderful memories.
Im only 7 weeks and high risk for misscariage and all sorts of complications and still watching this video with joy☀️
I am an NNP and I'm getting induced on Sunday and it's great to see this as someone who also sees a lot of births. You made me feel reassured. 😀
Thank you for sharing your experience it’s super helpful especially for first time mommies!
tears of joy watching this. all the best to both and this precious baby!
Thank you guys so much for sharing. I am 4.5 weeks so your journey is helping so much in my own journey! God bless you guys and your beautiful girl!
11:22 when dad described the feeling…I am instantly tearing up! 24 weeks with baby number 2 and starting to mentally prepare for labor after a very rough first one that resulted in an emergency c section.
This was so helpful to watch, thank you for sharing your experience. A beautiful birth story. I’m anticipating my first baby in August. This made me less fearful of the birth experience.
Congratulations on your baby girl! Thank you for sharing your birth story with us. What an amazing journey! It was wonderful to see you were able to deliver her vaginally and she came out full of life! Enjoy your journey and warmest blessings to all three of you.
Thank you so much for sharing your birth journey!
Thank you so much for this video. Detailed, calm, positive, no dramatizations of the pain, no shame or stigma about taking pain relief, informative and clear. I am giving birth for the first time in June and I definitely have a propensity towards overthinking, anxiety, and worrying about a low pain tolerance. But this video helped so so so so much. I’m going to watch this at least once every week. 😂
You guys rock so much. Thank you for sharing your experience, expertise and hearts. I can’t wait to watch ALL of your content.
Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your experience. It means the world to so many women especially coming from a OBGYN.. It means alot to me as i prepare for the birth of my little one. Thank you.
Such a heartwarming video! Thank you so much for sharing. I am myself in the middle of 12th week and it was such a joy to watch this - I've cried and laughed and smiled through the whole video and I can't wait to meet my little one next year ❤️
My husband and I have female and male factor infertility and just started the IVF process. I've found your videos and have enjoy so many of them!! I've loved watching you on this journey
Really very full of emotions, I had tears to watch and live these moments with you !
Thank you for sharing your experience!
You are both humble, amazing and dedicated doctors. Thank you for sharing your experience.
My husband is like you/ yours & they are rare to come by! I'm so blessed. I feel so sorry for all the single moms having to raise a child alone, but especially a newborn! Even with his support it was HARD!
I’m currently 38w+1d and want to thank you. As I anxiously await my little girls arrival, you’ve helped ease my tensions so much. Just hearing that an OB/GYN elected for the epidural puts me at ease. I’ve been hellbent on doing this without meds and beating myself up for wanting the epidural as an option. You’ve completely lifted that nonsensical worry of mine! Also- hearing that a woman who happens to be an MD also has struggles breastfeeding. My last baby (10 years ago) was bf but I struggled and then got discouraged and switched to formula quickly. I thought I was the only one struggling. Wish I had more support back then. Glad I have that support now (my amazing husband) and also videos like yours that encourage me. Thank you thank you thank you! Congratulations on your little girl!
Congrats!!! On your little bundle of joy! God bless!
What a awesome team that baby had coming into the world! Not only did she have 2 OB’s but also a pediatrician on hand lol what a great learning experience and a way to relate with your patients
Congrats!!! She is a spinning image of him. 😍
I am so thrilled for you two, I have enjoyed watching your journey for the last few months, I’m 16 weeks along and found your channel super early in my pregnancy. You guys have a beautiful baby girl and I hope we are all lucky enough to continue to follow as much of your journey as you’re comfortable sharing ♥️
Congratulations again!!!
Congrats. Im 19 weeks tomorrow.
Thank you so much for sharing this. Seeing baby being born and getting delivered straight to mommy's arms is such a bliss. 26 weeks pregnant here, and hoping to have the same luck soon. Wishing all the hapiness to this beautiful family 💕
Congratulations! God Bless your family!
Beautiful photos! Beautiful family! Congrats! 🎈🎉💕
Awww what an amazing delivery! I can’t wait to meet my girl! 8 weeks until my due date! Also, I laughed so hard “man she’s really ugly” 😂 love that! Happy for you both!
Thank you! I am so excited for you to meet your little girl--those 8 weeks are going to fly by! And yes lol, be prepared, you may not think she's super adorable right away, but you will still love her more than anything!!!
Idk if it’s the pregnancy hormones, but I definitely cried watching this!!😭😭
Congratulations!! What a beautiful video - it made me cry and laugh (when you admitted your first thoughts on seeing baby!). You are a wonderful couple and parents, she is adorable. Thank you for sharing your journey!
Gives you a whole new appreciation for nurses and their amazing tool box of repositioning?
