    I have the black pinstripe in the 15.6 and a black pleather in the 17. I LOVE both of them but use the 17 when traveling. I use the 15.6 every day for work stuff. As a travel agent, I w tried a ton of bags and these 2 are my absolute favorite!! It's so nice to be able to carry it on my back instead of carrying it around.

      Hi @monicab28! I just love my 17 inch. I have never had an issue getting it under the seat (people have asked) and I have to agree that the black pinstripe is adrobs! Thanks for the feedback!

    British airways is actually very lax on their hand baggage sizes, despite what they post. I fly them multiple times a year and bring personal items that are almost as large as carryons. Ive never seen them stop someone for bag sizes. Great review, id love to see a review of Lovevook's actual personal item travel bag and its different sizes!

      HI @cg-lk2bz. I was on BA in Nov-Dec and I took my Beis mini weekender as my personal item, and they were fine with it, but I was told it was because I was on Economy Plus, so it's good to know. I did a video of the 15" vs the 17" Lovevook personal item backpack. You can find it here: czcams.com/video/AfZhYiwmgTI/video.html Is there a different bag you were referring to?

    Showing the small vs larger sizes is great!! Not often done!!! I did notice that there are actually 5 different sizes with different prices... the 15.6 is actually 16" with an "upgrade" to 17" and the same thing goes with the 16.5 (16)which upgrades to 17.4! And then there is an 18" which doesn't seem that much different. So, depending on which of each you choose, they can be very close in size, LOL! I wish the backpack had a cross body strap! Amazon flags this item as "frequently returned" and some people have an issue with zippers...?? As for size, I found a luggage shipping site (and also then the same info on more of a "camping" site) which suggested that you forget the 18x14x8 size you see a lot...Better--18x13x9 but EVEN BETTER: 17x13x9.....There are some things more in the 16" range which might be even safer! I'm having a tough time finding a personal item bag...the Lovenooks would be ideal if they had a cross body strap option with it! But, as you say, the trolley sleeve does help a lot! And, you can always sling one strap over the shoulder... OH, just found that there is a "quilted" version that looks more traditional and is even lighter but holds the same stuff!

      Hi @secretariatgirl4249 ! While I love my Lovevook I do have other personal item bags. You can watch a review of a Beis bag dupe that I did here: czcams.com/video/lteRR9EJLL0/video.html. It is a great cross-body with a passthrough, too. Does that help?

      @@PerriesPassport will check it out.! I 'm thinking that you are right about the trolley sleeve really making all the difference....and I tried an old backup and actually loosened one of the back straps and pretty made it into a crossbody if a shift in weight is needed for a brief time. Update: loved that video and bag!... But it's big and to be safe I'd go with a Lovevook ...

    I recently purchased the 14" and the 15" to try for a flight we have coming up in May to London. I am liking the 15" better but haven't made up my mind for sure. I do like the look of these better than the more athletic/school looking bags. Great review; thank you.

      Hi @pamelachappell1089. If it was me, I would check the carrier and if you can, go with the bigger one. I found that when you over-stuff the smaller one, you might run into trouble with the depth of the bag. London is my second home, since me mum is from there. No one on CZcams seems to address how easily the straps on a travel backpack adjust when you’re wearing it - either to loosen them or tighten them. I’ve been shopping sporting goods stores for a new backpack and this is one criterion that has wide variation. If I’m shopping online, I really want this information.

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  Před 2 měsíci +3

      You make a very good point about the straps. I have worn several different backpacks over the years and there is a difference between how straps fit and how comfortable they feel, but you are right that they also need to be adjusted, too. btw, I ended up keeping the 17 inch bag and the straps are not bad. Thank you very much for your thoughtful feedback!

    I have the larger Lovevook backpack in the same B&W stripe print and love it! It fits all my items and the material and hardware are high quality. I recently used it on a trip from the US to the Philippines on EVA Air. It didn't fit under the seat in Economy but it did in Economy Plus when I upgraded on the return flight. I don't normally use a backpack but this was pretty comfortable on my back, and the trolley strap came in handy to attach it to my checked bag. That said, I would advise against over-filling it with too much stuff!

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi @lindadorman2869. EVA says that their personal size item is 16 x 12 x 4in , so even if you had gotten the 15" it still wouldn't have fit, since it's actual size is 12"L x 7.5"W x 16"H. That being said, I did take it on Jetblue and had no problem getting it under the seat. I agree with you with the over-filling! This bag does beg to be over filled!

    Perrie, The difference I see in the two bags is the small one says it holds a 15.6" laptop and the larger one holds a 17" laptop. You may want to test those features. I too don't like backpacks even if they have a trolley sleeve.

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi @gailstaton4350, I just tested my husband's 17" in both bags. You can squeeze in 17" in the smaller bag, but the very top of it will be exposed, which is not great, but it can be done. The larger bag has no trouble with the larger computer. So I guess it comes down to if you are looking for a bag that can get under the seat as a personal bag. I have tried other bags, and either they are on your carry-on (not optimal if you are dealing with stairs to the plane) or on your shoulder, which isn't great either. In that sense, a backpack like this makes sense if you are dealing with that scenario.

    I have the larger of the two bags and when it is full but not stuffed at all, it does not fit under any United Airline seat. Just flew premium economy to London and it was sticking halfway out from under the seat. I was near the window. In other United flights in various size planes, it never fits under the aisle seat. I really need a bag that is roomy but fits under set the seat.

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  Před 2 měsíci +2

      I know people who use the 15" one and get it under most seats, but I was considering using the larger one since it would work with BA. I have an Away Everywhere bag, but with the new restrictions that our national carriers came out within the last two weeks, maximizing the personal size bag is a must.
