    I have 3 Packet towers that I am using... thank you thank you for adding your video to help with the security of the Packout boxes... I ordered my Master Lock Python on eBay for about $30, and 3 Nanuks from Home Depot. I am in Costa Rica, so it will take them about 10 days to arrive. Big thanks!!!!

    Man, glad I stumbled on this. Last video I saw, the guy pulled out a lathe, welder, calipers, and god knows what else in the rest of the video. All to lock his packs to a custom machined rack for his motorcycle.
    This snakey bike lock and padlock method is MUCH more my style for securing and locking these down to my motorcycle.
    Thanks a lot mate!

      That’s it. A lot of theives out there. I don’t usually leave my gear or packout in the open. Usually it’s just on site and the locks are to keep people from “borrowing” my tools, or nosey people from looking through it. Which is why I really like these locks.

    The locks are only going to keep the honest people honest the thefts are going to take the hole thing or bust the plastic to get the lock off and having it strapped to the car they can mess up the car and still take them i hope you take them off at night

    • @AddictedtoTools
      @AddictedtoTools  Před 2 lety

      You’re exactly right. Locks are just deterrents and for insurance. It’s the same with your car, house or anything you lock up. If someone wants to take it they can. I don’t leave my packout or car out at night or even in the day. Thanks for the input.

  • @bryanbrown1788
    @bryanbrown1788 Před 2 lety +1

    I could decode that “$40” dollar lock in les time than it would take to cut it! The problem is everything your locks pass through is plastic! A hand torch will burn all the hole out and super easy to put in a backpack!

    • @AddictedtoTools
      @AddictedtoTools  Před 2 lety +1

      I agree mate. If someone really wants to steal things they can. From your car to breaking into a house. Locks are just a deterrent.

      @@AddictedtoTools just joking you go through all the trouble locking the boxes and locking them down to the roof rack and someone takes roof rack and all.
      I was wondering though can that cable not be cut by the cable cutters?

    • @AddictedtoTools
      @AddictedtoTools  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah sure. Someone could take the roof rack, or cut the cable. If ones intentions are to steal things, they can always do it. Just like breaking into a car or house. Locks are are just deterrents and for insurance. I don’t leave both my packout or car out over night. Even then someone could break in and steal everything. All we can do if make preventions and deterrents.

    • @AddictedtoTools

    • @marcusshipley3935
      @marcusshipley3935 Před 2 lety

      Also no lock is going to be perfect when the receiver is plastic, but these are to deter honest thieves..... as in the guy who'd just borrow one of your tools on site, and not the guy who'd cut the lock off or smash the box to get at the goodies. Even Pee Wee would know that!? 🤏

    • @bobbybrady7872
      @bobbybrady7872 Před rokem

      Well I could also drill a hole in the top of the pack out big enough for a sawzall blade and then cut out a giant square and have huge access to the tools probably quicker than you could go inside a gas station and get a drink so quit bitching about the locks
