  • Amazon Delivery VS FedEx Ground (Who should YOU work for?)
Trying to decide whether to work for Amazon or FedEx Ground? Who has better pay and an easier workload? Watch this video! It's going to help you decide. I wish I knew these things before I made a choice so I'm here to help you decide. Maybe this video will give you the answer you wanted or needed! FedEx ground and Amazon delivery are two-way different things. One is much much harder and the other is much much easier in comparison. In one fo these jobs you'll have to carry boxes that weigh more than 100lbs and the other you almost never carry a delivery that weighs more than 60 lbs.
Enjoy the video and I hope I helped you decide.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WATCHING I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

If you can get into FedEx express I heard that’s really good. Some contractors for FedEx pay by the package. So that might be a better route if you work for FedEx. Some also pay a bit more than others, but you will carry heavy stuff for FedEx lol

broo i’m reconsidering my life choice💀 i worked 8 months for a dsp(chandler, az), really good dispatchers and fun people, only problem is just amazon kept coming up with more requirements overtime idk about now since i left. Then i switch to fedex ground that offered me 155 a day but man i’m 2 weeks in driver training and this is no joke. Having to deliver 100+ pounds crib to a third floor apt with no elevator is a nightmare. I had a rider/trainer with me and i can’t imagine doing it alone. And i heard it gets worst during peak times. I’m 23, lift regularly but man. Now i respect those people even more because it really is heavy work for some. Maybe other drivers have it easier on the residential side but for me it’s mostly loading docks, businesses and some apts. I’ll take stupid routes and more stops/packages over heavy lifting just saying.

Amazon have step vans now. The big trucks just like UPS and FedEx. They give you more stops but you tend to do less rescues compared to the prime vans. Also they give you a dollar or two more to drive them.

Nothing beats NOT being monitored while you work though 🤷🏽‍♂️ Not sure if this new tech was out back when you made this comparison video, but.. even if you yawn, you get some type of points taken away from your performance. That same camera they use that senses your yawn patterns, also takes not your blinking. The only perk, when in comparison with only FedEx Ground, is the pay schedule.. lol. Comparing Amazon to any other courier business, it’s easy to see that even the pay isn’t enough. That place is just a good stepping stone to get into UPS/FedEx/DHL and even USPS.

i work as an amazon driver and was thinking about switching to fedex, i heard the benefits are better.
currently i’m making 18.75h and doing 190-200 stops, 300+ packages usually. i usually work 8-10 hours, but always get paid for 10.
also, most packages are envelopes and bags, rarely get anything big, but i still run every single package. my DSP moves the most flow in the entire warehouse so they really push us to keep that #1 ranking.

You eased my suffering, bro! 😀
    Gracias!!
I work for J. Bezos inc through one of the five DSP's at the Warehouse we load out of; and yes, its lots of deliveries and pay is slightly less that Fed Ground, but the van is very manuvrable and the packages are never hardly ever over 50-60 pounds, mostly just large envelopes and medium to small boxes, just like you said.
I wasn't planning on switching anyway, but it was nice to hear this from the other camp.
At least your making a lottle more now, but I agree the extra coin isnt worth it.
I love those Armada vans and i avoided the offer to drive their step van (bread truck 🍞 🚚 I call them) for the extra dollar an hour even though the step vans are a lottle shorter than Fed Ex's Ground Vans. Tgose bad boys are loooong! I saw one up close at in my route a month ago while talking to a driver.
Every thing you said about Amazon is accurate..
    Great video!

    • @YahuchananLewis-wz5eo
      @YahuchananLewis-wz5eo Před 2 měsíci +1

Sorry about the typos. The tube has made editing comments very difficult lately.
I also waa told by that driver that fed ex contractors pay differently (as you well know), depending on the contractor and he then gave me the name of a good paying contractor (even though i not going to leave money bags Bezos.)
I'm not big on job hopping anyway, and i say that as one who previously worked temp jobs for 5 years with crappy benefits, even though the pay was competetive.
That totally burned me out and as a result, I am very happy being shackled to the Amazon Octopus.
      🐙 👀
Its been 3 years, now and I am going on my fourth year. (Load-outs arent to bad, like you said. I have gotten used to it.)
Long tedious days sometimes, but i enjoy working alone and outside! I'm sure you agree.
      Thanks again, sir! 🫡

Sweet. I was hoping you would do a comparison video. I'm at AMZN DSF5 and the first two weeks I thought I'd have to quit bc my pre-pandemic job I worked in an office (so kinda sedentary), but once I got used to the pace and the # of pkgs (for me 300+ in 20+ totes), I enjoy it now. Although I must admit, I take some shortcuts sometimes (i.e.: skipping the POD and U-turns that I probably shouldn't do), nonetheless it's fun in the end.

Yeah, shortcuts are a must. I work out of Riverside CA, DCX1 I take any shortcuts I can, like not using my seat belt although it looks like I'm using it I'm really not. I just started a month ago, I need to get faster. I get about 170 to 190 stops and they keep giving me those white vans instead of the branded ones. So I'm not sure if I should take the 16 hourly rate offer from FedEx Ground, this video kind've scared me.

I really do think your experience between DSPs and contractors varies, I started with ground a month and half ago and I don’t have to run all day, but with Amazon I was getting way heavier loads with no time to do anything, FedEx there’s no pressure to finish but since I’m used to the grind with Amazon I still finish earlier

I work Fedex Home Delivery out in Long Island. I get $200 daily rate plus I get paid $1.25 per stop after 180 stops. Daily my route is usually in the 160 stops range. Peak aka xmas time I get around 200 to 280 stops daily. I finish daily at 1-2pm and start at 7:30am. Peak with almost 300 stops I finish around 3-4pm the latest. My route is tight and my contractor is a fair guy. In my opinion Fedex is 10x better than Amazon simply because I get paid way more and do less hours daily. I don’t mind the big packages since its a good daily workout and I never ran ever lol

No breaks, no lunch ever. I clock in at 6 a.m get to my first stop between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. I have to be finished with 200 stops by roughly 3:45 to 4:00 p.m everyday. My latest DSP pays you for 10 hours even if you don’t work the full 10 hours but if you finished and refuse to do a rescue they will not pay you for the 10 hours only the hours you worked. If you refuse to do rescue they take away the quality pay. And if you refuse rescues often they get pissed at you and be like it’s part of your job saying you signed up for 10 hour shifts. And the late start time sucked. I clocked in at 10AM and headed to the warehouse at around 10:30 and then leaving warehouse to 1st stop after 11 and then drive 1 hour to get to my first stop. You should have left it for freight to take. I learned my lesson lol 150lbs is a two man lift!

I worked for two Amazon DSPs in the same area and wow do they operate different... Your Amazon experience depends on your DSP/owner!!!
I could of worked for fed ex or USPS but I don't see the longevity in those companies compared to Amazon. UPS has too much senortity and bullshit waiting to make it worth it in my area although I love unions....
I'm holding out on Amazon cus I know daddy bezos will own the world. ...also tho no one is talking this ...Walmart who I work for as a independent contractor like Instacart or flex. They want to do what amazon is doing ..I'm holding out on the companies that actually make the most money in the long run like Amazon and walmart. I see people getting upset and unionizing like ups and why I hold out for those two employers.

I like fedex more because it's more dependent on when you finish and don't ask me to help other people finish their deliveries.
Most days I finished at 12 and earned about 30 an hour for the day
However that pick up thing you mentioned is probably the only con about working at fedex!! I hate when I finish all my deliveries and Im forced to come home at a later time because of the pick up window.
As for the heavy boxes, I enjoy carrying heavy items because it keeps me fit and running to stops because I'm into fitness, but that's just my take on it.

Hey man, I appreciate your perspective!! Definitely! Yeah lol I was like heck nah!! I remember the heaviest thing I had to deliver was 200 lbs with no dolly! Was like a bed frame. Was awful lol but If you like it there is not a single thing wrong with that.

      @julianrodriguez9748 Před 3 lety +1

Yeah but FedEx ground does the same thing with Amazon tho. This one contractor I use to work for, I would finish by like 12 or 1 and I still had to help other drivers.
