    FedEx Ground has by far been one of the most enjoyable jobs I’ve had. My route is a rural route (2 hours from our station) and I average 75 stops per day but I’m not done until 4-5pm That’s with dispatching at 9:30am. It’s just really spread out

      Did they install the cameras that monitor your speed limit, your sharp turn and hard braking and all that by the time you was there? I heard they do now and it’s very official. I confirmed it from one of their managers

    That's so true Amazon is very dishonest with the routes. It's become even worse since Amazon increased their starting pay between $19.75 to $20 to be competitive with UPS, FEDEX etc. About 90% of a route now is group stops for ex . 1 stop can have 2 to 7 different houses [updated]. Doing apartments are even worse. There could be multiple apartment buildings grouped as 1 stop with many packages. Most times the houses are far apart and you have to drive to them separately even though it's 1 stop. Well if a driver is dumb, likes walking and wasting energy, to each his own. Therefore a route with 190 stops is like doing almost double that. That is so deceptive! Then again most DSP's/Amazon are giving drivers 400 plus packages to fit into a Dodge 3500 Promaster, Mercedes Sprinter etc.
    The worst part is when you have about 10 stops left for the route to be done however, you have 2 to 3 full bags/totes. What they do is group up the stops so those 10 stops are more like doing close to 50..

    • @ricebike
      @ricebike Před rokem +2

      Is there a way to un-group them? Cause that's just plain dumb...
      So as a DA, ignore stop count and it's really the location count that gives a more accurate picture of the day?

    • @danjahk9709
      @danjahk9709 Před rokem +1

      @@ricebike You can add stops to a group but you can't ungroup them. And yes the number of delivery locations is the accurate count and not the stops.

    • @ricebike
      @ricebike Před rokem +2

      @@danjahk9709 they need to fix that... Look at this flaw, Amazon Lurkers
      Guessing just some lazy drivers that don't want to scan and close at each location; then the Amazon algorithms screwed up for any future driver.
      Side note: are DSPs keeping drivers in the same areas on the daily so it kinda increases one's productivity and lowers stress OR is everyone still a "swing driver"? (Doh, I forgot, each DSP operates differently)
      But, that's one of the keys to maintain the staff instead of a revolving door

    Great video, thanks. I know FedEx doesnt do group stops per se, but how do they handle multiple packages within the same building? Or packages to buildings that are next door to each other and only require one van stop? I would imagine you would still take two packages for two apartments into the same building instead of coming back to the van between them... so would the only difference be that Amazon counts it as one stop and FedEx counts is as two and everything else is the same?
