@misa: Here is something to consider: Without Tuomas, the keyboardist, to compose this amazing music, Floor couldn't sing it, nor the band play it. If you watch more live performances from Wacken 2013, look for Tuomas to smile from time to time! He's smiling, because Floor was the finishing touch on how he originally thought these songs of his could sound like -- despite the characteristic humility he has. The man is a compositional genius, but more often than not, he gets blown away by how a crowd reacts to the music he wrote. Put it this way: During Amaranth, towards the end of the Wacken show, Floor is hyping the crowd, and Tuomas has his arms in the air, in straight disbelief. It was at that point, he knew: He found the singer that had the vocal talent to make his musical visions, reality. And even then, I would imagine that Tuomas still has that feeling of, "Am I dreaming? Is this real?" That kind of shock and awe, not believing how good his music sounds with Floor singing.

I can only imagine what the guys were thinking, they were obviosly happy to have her after very difficult times... those stares and smiles... You’ve definitely gotta listen to more Nightwish. I’ve been a fan since ‘06 and I gotta tell you, my life would be a lot duller without this band. My suggestion if you liked Storytime: React to either Everdream or Dark Chest of Wonders next. Wonders has some similar themes and a bit of a Pirates of the Caribbean vibe to the instrumentals. Very fun. But Everdream… that’ll knock your socks off.
One of the great things about Floor Jansen is that she can sing light and airy , like Annette Olson who used to sing for Nightwish and she can sing dark and and heavy like Tarja Turunen who also used to sing in Nightwish.She really is the best of best world and then some.

( Freja & ...? ) Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish. Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she cool singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. @@public_misa For some unfathomable reason, ALL music coming out of South Korea is called 'K-Pop', when some of it is clearly not Pop music at all. My FAVORITE K-Pop girl group (they are so awesome that they just might be my favorite group of all time...even considering the existence of Nightwish...) is called DreamCatcher. Their debut song from 2017 is called 'Chase Me' and it is a dark, spooky MV that is the beginning of a storyline that lasts a total of seven MVs. The group is a 'Black Sheep' among K-Pop because they are decidedly NOT Bubble-Gum-Pop, especially considering they are a girl group and not a boy group. They are Rock/ Metal and are looked down on by Koreans because of their genre. They have had more success internationally than they have had in their own country. The group has seven members who all sing, all dance and some of them can rap. I really hope this has peaked your interest. :)
@@public_misa Well, their 'Main' MVs are Rock/ Metal but they are surprisingly flexible with the genres found on their B-Side tracks. Anything related to Pop music can be found with them, they are great at everything. Raegaton, Moombaton, traditional Korean, English covers of songs from Maroon Five to Ed Sheeran to Little Mix...they really can do it all so they have SOMETHING for EVERYBODY. They do Dance covers too, so one member covered Billie Eilish and she sang that one while she danced her own choreography to it... And on and on. It's easy to see why I like the group so much. And then, behind the scenes of all the music, they are sweethearts. They deserve far more success than they have attained so far.

Hello misa (liked and subbed btw) -- I like to reply to the 2nd or 3rd reactions on folks Nightwish journey. What I want to mention is that as stunning as Floor's performance is/was in the Wacken 2013 concert, she wasn't even an official a member of the band yet! In fact she only had joined them mid-tour in 2012 as a replacement for the previous lead vocalist (after a falling-out with the band), and the year before that she was out of music entirely. Floor had put a pause on her career as a vocalist - she says she suffered a pretty serious case of burnout. So to sum up the timeline, 2011 was her burnout. In 2012, Nightwish called on her to join as a replacement vocalist to finish the tour they were in. And by as early as 2013, THIS was recorded. (For the record, she was officially announced as a full-time member of the band after the Wacken 2013 concert). For me, given the history there, makes this concert more impressive. I recommend every song from Wacken 2013. Floor will continue to blow you away I promise you. Specific recs for next-up would be: Everdream (CRAZY belts at the end of that one), Dark Chest of Wonders, Song of Myself, and Romanticide. Also please look into her performances on the Beste Zangers show from 2019. SO many stunning performances ahead for you, I'm excited for your Nightwish and Floor journey

Babymetal is also an awesome band! Spoken as a lilywhite old guy whose first experience with metal was in 1970 with Black Sabbath. Was already subscribed, and I liked once more!
Thats just what they do. Theyre all absolute masters of their craft and the understand its a team effort, that they complement eachother... No one does anything more or less than theyre supposed to. It sounds easy but it one of the most common mistakes among mucisians. Over-doing it, either cuz theyre narcissists and basically compete with their team mates or cuz theyre so hype and they want to give the crowd something extra. The last one is not bad in nature, its actually rahter sweet and appriciative thing but the result is often not good. Nightwish know their acts are perfectly balanced and no matter how good your intentions are, moving even a little bit in either direction would ruin it.

@@public_misa For some unfathomable reason, ALL music coming out of South Korea is called 'K-Pop', when some of it is clearly not Pop music at all. My FAVORITE K-Pop girl group (they are so awesome that they just might be my favorite group of all time...even considering the existence of Nightwish...) is called DreamCatcher.
Their debut song from 2017 is called 'Chase Me' and it is a dark, spooky MV that is the beginning of a storyline that lasts a total of seven MVs.
The group is a 'Black Sheep' among K-Pop because they are decidedly NOT Bubble-Gum-Pop, especially considering they are a girl group and not a boy group. They are Rock/ Metal and are looked down on by Koreans because of their genre. They have had more success internationally than they have had in their own country.
The group has seven members who all sing, all dance and some of them can rap. I really hope this has peaked your interest. :)
@@public_misa Well, their 'Main' MVs are Rock/ Metal but they are surprisingly flexible with the genres found on their B-Side tracks. Anything related to Pop music can be found with them, they are great at everything. Raegaton, Moombaton, traditional Korean, English covers of songs from Maroon Five to Ed Sheeran to Little Mix...they really can do it all so they have SOMETHING for EVERYBODY.
They do Dance covers too, so one member covered Billie Eilish and she sang that one while she danced her own choreography to it... And on and on. It's easy to see why I like the group so much. And then, behind the scenes of all the music, they are sweethearts. They deserve far more success than they have attained so far.
Every face in that crowd; every face on that stage. Pure joy as they knew how special this was.

Hello misa (liked and subbed btw) -- I like to reply to the 2nd or 3rd reactions on folks Nightwish journey.
What I want to mention is that as stunning as Floor's performance is/was in the Wacken 2013 concert, she wasn't even an official a member of the band yet! In fact she only had joined them mid-tour in 2012 as a replacement for the previous lead vocalist (after a falling-out with the band), and the year before that she was out of music entirely. Floor had put a pause on her career as a vocalist - she says she suffered a pretty serious case of burnout.
So to sum up the timeline, 2011 was her burnout. In 2012, Nightwish called on her to join as a replacement vocalist to finish the tour they were in. And by as early as 2013, THIS was recorded. (For the record, she was officially announced as a full-time member of the band after the Wacken 2013 concert).
For me, given the history there, makes this concert more impressive. I recommend every song from Wacken 2013. Floor will continue to blow you away I promise you. Specific recs for next-up would be: Everdream (CRAZY belts at the end of that one), Dark Chest of Wonders, Song of Myself, and Romanticide.
Also please look into her performances on the Beste Zangers show from 2019. SO many stunning performances ahead for you, I'm excited for your Nightwish and Floor journey

Thats just what they do.
Theyre all absolute masters of their craft and the understand its a team effort, that they complement eachother...
No one does anything more or less than theyre supposed to.
It sounds easy but it one of the most common mistakes among mucisians.
Over-doing it, either cuz theyre narcissists and basically compete with their team mates or cuz theyre so hype and they want to give the crowd something extra.
The last one is not bad in nature, its actually rahter sweet and appriciative thing but the result is often not good.
Nightwish know their acts are perfectly balanced and no matter how good your intentions are, moving even a little bit in either direction would ruin it.
