Bro we can't use java for operating system because java runs on a JVM(java virtual machine) which in turn runs on top of an operating system. You have to write code for a kernel in another language then write the rest of the "operating system" code on top of that.... Basically Symbian was developed by using C++ language

My mother used to own a Samsung Z1 which used to run on Tizen OS which was Samsung's own OS. It was a horrible experience using it because it didn't have any apps and WhatsApp came very late to it even then it lacked the calling feature. That was her first smartphone but right after it she got an android and life has been simpler since. Fun fact: Tizen Os is still alive and used on Samsung TVs.
