The Astronauts and all the Ventures albums are awesome!! James Brown, Booker T. and Eric Dolphy too! Dolphy was a genius! Great finds, you're a lucky man Topper! (Leslie from Hungary)
Hi Topper, good to see you again. An album with Accordian. I don't know about that one my friend. That Verve album was interesting. You are the king of the thrift store finds. You are right about that Chicago album would not go over well now. Awesome Duke album. Fun stuff as always. Enjoy your week. Steve
Really great finds Topper! That Booker T and James Brown finds were amazing. I've got the Booker T, but Grits and Soul is now on my wantlist! Rock on my friend.
Hi Topper! Lots of cool finds, especially the Dolphy. That Caldera thing sounds like something I need to hear. Don't recall even seeing that cover over the years. Anyway, everything was interesting to hear about--thanks for sharing!
Yes! That Eric Dolphy album was an amazing find! Definitely need to find more. The Caldara record is interesting. I love those old 60's and 70's Moog exploitation "Switched On" type of records. The Caldera "Stabat Mater" is an interesting example of that electronic exploitation. Sort of a Bruce Haack meets Walter Carlos in church sort of thing! LOL! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I'd have grabbed all that Jazz and R'n'B as well...it all looks really interesting and cool.Brilliant vintage sleeves...you scored there, all right.Have Ellington,Dolphy,JB,Booker T and Lou Rawls stuff myself...and The Amboy Dukes and Scott Walker. Some of those M.O.R./schmaltzy lps are worth having just for the jackets, inners and labels...beautiful artifacts/art pieces of the times they were released.I've recently started picking up some stuff like that myself when I realised how cool it was.All the best from the Isle of Lewis, off the NW coast of Scotland,Man!
Always a pleasure listening to your commentary on the latest batch of eclectic vinyl finds, sadly, we don't seem to have the same diversity or quality of records in UK charity shops and certainly not at US prices! Happy hunting Topper.
May the lords of vinyl continue to smile upon you.Great finds, gotta check out that camera album and surfing astronauts.Great booker t and jb finds.I prefer the slightly later stuff but nonetheless would snap that album up in a second.Hope we see you again soon and as a friend of mine said to me lately "When shit gets crazy, then crazy is how we roll"
Yeah, mindfulness makes a job or task more enjoyable. I like Chinese and Japanese painting and calligraphy too. Hey, I caught that Dada reference too. All the best and have a great weekend.
so good to see you!! I wish our thrift shops sold vinyl for .25. Btw, Jimi and I are going to see Crack The Sky on May 31st. we are actually friends with those guys. Oh yes, those rituals...very magical indeed.
Happy to see you found the Scott Walker CD Box Set That Surfin' With The Astronauts is a killer find The Ventures are my favorite instrumental Band and have a lot of their albums The Classic 4 albums up here in Maine are harder to find then hen's teeth All I can say about this haul you got is killer
Topper I love surf 🏄 music, cool finds along w that Dolphy! I need some Ventures, always good to see ya and hear about music in general...later 👋🏻 be well T.- Lis
The video was made several years ago. Things have changed a lot locally since then. Many of the venues I used to shop have closed down. It's much harder to find cheap records now. I guess I was lucky at the time.
Hi Topper!...you got me back into vinyl. I have watched you from afar, but pulled you in up close to appreciate. You need a floating cigarette in the background. You know those classic films, sure. Keep on keepin on good soul. D-boy
Ahoy Topper! Loved every minute of it and wished it was longer! Scott Walker from the Walker Bros. I inhereted some Walker Bros. vinyl and enjoy it. They are originals from the 60's. You really brought back some memories with some of the songs and artists you talked about. Quite an eclectic collection you picked up. Love your passion for vinyl. Would love to hang out in your room, it would be a blast to talk music with you. Till next time Brother Topper! Peace, love and rock and roll! PS: We all have occasional brain farts
Nice digs here Topper, jazz, garage, soul, psych, rock, surf and moog, I think you covered every genre on that dig. Looks like your thrifts are way better than ours. Enjoy the music. Send me your email when you get a chance, need your address as I'd like to send you a package. Peace!
Another chill episode from Mr. Topper himself. I hope things are going good for you and health as well. Keep spinning my friend. I might have to make a channel to post some records I have.
Your son owns a record store?!!! What would be incredible is if you could convince him for you to make a video of some of his inventory in his store after it's closed
I've got to look up that Caldera album, I'm Catholic and am curious (probably to my detriment) as to how a Mass setting sounds on a Moog synthesizer. 💩
Love your finds Topper. All the way from South Africa.

Hey T, nice haul. especially the Eric Dolphy and James Brown albums. But that Amboy Dukes compilation is an especially nice find.
Have missed seeing your John's Camera and Records finds.
Hi Topper, always a pleasure to watch your videos. Can you tell us what you play in the background? It sounds amazing!
That was the album I shown called 'Sole Forms' by the Brooks Arthur Ensemble.
Thanks for watching and commenting
Thanks a lot!!!!!

He doesn't actually own the record store. He is an employee. Here is a link if you want to check it out: www.cheapthrillsrecords.com/index.html
Nice
Thank you for your genuine videos! Do you have any holy grails? Actually I’d love to see you make a video about them.🙂
