Dr. Susan Baumgaertel is an internal medicine physician, patient advocate, cancer survivor, author, and multi-passionate human who lives the full spectrum of life! In this discussion, we talk about navigating multiple life and career pivots - and what it may look like to give yourself permission to do it intentionally. We will also discuss 4 things not to say to a human with cancer from Dr. B's lived experience perspective.
In 2021, Dr. Baumgaertel pivoted from clinical medicine to support patients in a new way as a virtual consultant and advocate, helping patients to navigate the complexities of healthcare while providing holistic support along the way. She partners with patients on topics that commonly include aging with intent, preventive care, menopause, chronic diseases, autoimmune conditions, weight management, behavioral health, cancer and survivorship support, caregiver stress, coping with chronic pain, and referral advocacy.
Dr. Baumgaertel is also the author of "The Menopause Menu"-an all-in-one giftbook, medical guide, and recipe book for navigating menopause.
