    I think that is a base model Integra. I have an '04 Type S and it makes 200 horsepower with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 05-06 Type S trims make 210 horsepower with a k20z1 engine. Although I live in the states so I'm not 100% sure if the Type S over there is any different from over here. But other than that, very nice video, i loved the commentary and everything else was spot on, great work, keep it up :)
    Edit: Just did some background research and yes they are very different here in the states, i guess you could say the Type S here is "our Type R". Again, very cool video, glad I got to see someone who loves their Type S as much as I love mine. Best of luck from your DC5 bro from California. Can't wait to see whats in store for your Type S

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  Před 5 lety +8

      Yep you're right, here in nz, the NZ new type R's make 200hp, and the facelift Type S makes 210hp, both with 6 speeds. The japanese import type S's only make 160hp (like mine), and the type R's make 220hp. So basically mine looks the same as the NZ new type S, but because it's an import it has the k20a3 rather than the k20a2

    • @FormOverFunction
      @FormOverFunction Před 4 lety +2

      Our base is their type s because they have the type R. Here in the states we have the base model which Is exactly what hes showing in the video, and then we have the type s rsx which is our "Type R" equivalent. Theres no point for them to have a type s and type r, it's the same thing (with a power downgrade)

    • @turbo2greedy
      @turbo2greedy Před 4 lety +2

      @@KiwiCarLife i didnt know that. first time they gave us here in the states an advantage or better option than the imports

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  Před 4 lety +1

      @@turbo2greedy kinda, if you remove the confusing naming for different markets and just replace them with letters it makes more sense.
      Integra A: 160hp model (same for pre-facelift and post-facelift)
      Integra B: 200hp model (only pre-facelift)
      Integra C: 210hp model (post-facelift, basically replacement to integra B)
      Integra D: 220hp model (only as the JDM pre and post facelift type R)
      The US, Canada, Australia and NZ got Integra, A and B, and later facelift A and C.
      Japan got A and D. And because we're able to import cars from Japan here, we end up with all 4 different models. So rather than thinking of my old car as a dud type s, think of it as a base model with the type S kit because after all Japan got the type R anyway so there's no need for them to have integra B or C

    I got out of my '02 Type S one day in 2018 and some probably early 70ish year old guy says what a beautiful car it was and what dealership he could go to to buy one. He actually thought it was a car that had just come out and wanted to order a new one. I explained to him it was a 16 year old car and he was completely baffled lol. These cars really do have timeless looks and I truly believe they were one of the last JDM car that offered a pure driving experience first over everything else before everything began to get dull, conservative, and just flat-out generic.

      JDM means Japanese Domestic Market, i.e. sold in Japan and then imported somewhere else. Pre-facelift Integras sold in Japan were the iS and Type R (what I have now), and the post-facelift were Type S and Type R. I know the JDM Type S isn't as good as the NZDM, AUDM or USDM Type S models, but it's still JDM.

      The NZ new type s's have a K20A2 with 200hp (pre-facelift) or K20Z1 with 210hp (facelift), but mines an import so it's basically a base model (iS) that looks like a type S, coz it doesn't have stuff like a sunroof either. But yeah kinda unluggy for us

    Yes so i finally had this car over 5 months now.. And I haven't gotten a chance to race against a integra type r but raced against a 2019 civic type r.. Held its own but my car needed servicing... Took on the highway and opened it up and must say I was pleased to see how fast the car is.. Doing anywhere between 240 to 250 kmh and with more mods I should be able to go 260 or more ..going to get it dynoed will let you know the numbers after I get that done.. But so far I have killed most cars... Modded or none.. Only a amg Benz and the civic type r didn't have come out the way I wanted.. But soon lol

      @KiwiCarLife  Před 4 lety

      Wow are you sure you've got a JDM type S? They've only got 160hp, the NZ new ones have 200hp. I kept up/beat some surprisingly fast cars like WRX's and a few like silvias and SR20 primeras in this, but I would be surprised if I could get much more than 200 out of it. I dunno that's cool tho!
